Saw IV

Jigsaw and his apprentice Amanda are dead. Now, upon the news of Detective Kerry's murder, two seasoned FBI profilers, Agent Strahm and Agent Perez, arrive in the terrified community to assist the veteran Detective Hoffman in sifting through Jigsaw's latest grizzly remains and piecing together the puzzle. However, when SWAT Commander Rigg is abducted and thrust into a game, the last officer untouched by Jigsaw has but ninety minutes to overcome a series of demented traps and save an old friend or face the deadly consequences.

11/16/06
Fango confirmed rumors about who's going to pen the script for the new film. Apparently a variety of writers have been hired to write the script, which goes to show that the studio is really desperate to put out another Saw film despite the original creators calling it quits and are pursuing other projects. Among the writers are Patrick Melton and writing partner Marcus Dunstan (Feast), UK writer Thomas Fenton, and another unnamed writer.

Added to the database.

DETAILS

- Originally slapped with an NC-17 rating, it was then edited to receive the more marketing-friendly R-rating.

- Tobin Bell (Jigsaw) is quoted as having a contract to bring his character back up to a sixth film.
- Lyriq Bent as head swat member "Rigg" returns to the franchise for a third time, this time possibly getting a bigger role as the story may also revolve around his character.
- Written by Feast writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan.

Its not that complicated Jigsaws dead Hoffman is taking over sort of, but there is one more accompliss because someone has to test Hoffman

these movies are beating a dead horse
there just trying to squeeze as much money as possible outa these movies while the craze lasts
the first saw was a historic horror/suspense film
even though it was also a historic rip off of the movie CUBE, which was better
there is no need for anymore, the movies have no consistency
and for shark_31- you're a *** in idiot
people have the right to their own opinion especially for such a *** ty series

i liked this: Saw IV. John and Amanda are dead but Hoffman's still alive. who knows? there may be a fourth apprentice! Hoffman's actions in Saw V will be tested. by who? agent Strahm and Perez should come back. they remind me Mulder and Scully. a Mulder and Scully vs. Hoffman and a fourth apprentice plot in Saw V. it is risky though that David Hackl will be directing the (supposed to be) last two remaining. producers: Burg, Koules, and Hoffman are unsure if they will return. it's gonna be Wan and Whannell instead who will be producers for Saw V.

Well, sorry heartofblades, im with shark on this one, Im going to be honest I HATED the 4th one but then i watched it 3,4,5 times then i started looking for things and combining things for the 5th installment of the saw series and i got to say i am AMPED! however it makes me nervous to know that they are switching directors this late in the game, this is the third directing switch they've done, so im nervous yet stoked at the same time.

This movie was such a letdown. I mean, the Saw films were a true phenomenon with each new installment better then the last, but sadly this formula end with Saw 4. I was board, I was honestly board with this film and found myself not caring. And the whole twist ending pisses me off instead of shocking me. You know who would have made a great new apprentice that would have shocked me and made me love the film? Dr. Gorden. No, really, we don't know what happened to him. Imagine if he came limping in with a prosthetic foot, now that would have been a thing of beauty. *sigh* Oh well, there's always Saw 5

It Is Possible That The Characters Of Danny Glover and Cary Elwes Might Return. But! Cary Elwes Filed A Lawsuit Against the Producers Of Saw. The Same Lawsuit He Also Filed Against His Own Management Firm. Cary Elwes Was Suing Them Of At Least A Minimum One Percent Producer's Net Profit.

The chronology of the SAW flims is starting from the END moving BACKWARDS to the BEGINING !! The next last two SAW films might have Det. Tapp and Dr. Gorden but I really doubt it!! I don"t see any of the two being a Jigsaw. If you watch in SAW III, IV jigsaw is testing amanda and hoffman at the same time to become the next apprentice of his work. The storyline is still NOT complete but there is more yet to come... Watch SAW III, IV to finding clues to previous characters/ viticms doctors of the SAW films. You'll be surprised!!!

WHAT? they were supposed to start shooting in January. If they start in March that means we still have to wait a whole other year.

Did you here that saw5 starts filming in March 17.
Juan

I don't agree with that because if he thought Rigg was Jigsaw then why did he lockup the other guy in the room with the rest of the bodys.
Juan

So there will be a saw5 and 6.There is something that is bothering me.Is hoffman the next Jigsaw. Will he set the traps in saw5 or is Jigsaw still testing him?

ok i wan to once again try and touch on a theory that keeps pushing its way to fore-front of my mind.
what if Hoffman didn't know that Jigsaw knew about him? What if Amanda recruited Hoffman (for whatever reason) but did not tell John?? maybe Hoffman wanted to help her because he didn't like the criminals (subjects) anyway.
Then Hoffman convinced her to start cheating and killing off the test subjects. this was his way of gaining control over the entire operation. "You think u are in control."
