There's no script yet, but the plot for the book is about a young woman in Europe who's in search for the truth behind the mystery that her father previously searched for -- the mystery behind Vlad the Impaler (man who inspired the Dracula novel). As she uncovers his whereabouts some local blood-suckers make it their mission to stop her.

A couple years after the first announcement, Sony has finally found a writer for the project -- Brad Caleb Kane who was the singing voice in Disney's Aladdin films, but has since turned into a writer.

Sony is in talks to get David Magee (Finding Neverland) to adapt the book to the big screen.

- It's said that many studios faught to purchase the film rights to the book, where Sony eventually won with a 7-figure sum.
- Based on the novel by Elizabeth Kostova.
