DETAILS

- Filming is scheduled to begin sometime early '09.
- Budgeted at an estimated $12-million.
- Originally said to be set three years prior to the events of the first movie and revolve around the excavation of the Cheonggye Stream - an old waterway that runs through Seoul, which was recently reclaimed and restored after years of being covered by a highway.
- The film will contain just as much serious political and social subtext as the previous movie.
- Produced by Korean production company Chungeorahm and China's Stone Man Films.
- Chinese writer/director Ning Hao will now handle scripting duties.
- It was first announced that South Korean comic artist Kang Full would handle the script.
- Original writer/director Bong Joon-Ho won't be returning.
- You can expect more than one monster to pop up this time.
- This is a Chinese-based sequel to the South Korean first film.
- When the project was first announced it was said to be a prequel to the hit South Korean creature feature, The Host.

The first one was awesome it showed the creature fully and in broad daylight.. unlike othere creatures.. where are creatures are affectted by nocturnal dysentry or something.. they like to come out only in dark :)

the original was a good movie, not a great one. the sence of humor in these foreign films is just to weird! and the plot seemed to be to be all over the place. i liked it, didn't love it.

I really enjoyed the first one, and i like how they managed to make me concentrate more on the struggles of the family and their determination to rescue their little girl other then WOW LOOK AT THE MONSTER!!!.....Even though when ever the monster did appear i TOTALLY said that. This was such a character driven creature feature and i really liked that about it. IM SOOOOO GLAD that this is not a prequel, i can not describe how powerful my hatred of prequels is. I see them as pointless and a waste of film. We know how things are going to end in them seemings we've seen the first one. Why go back just to explain ANYTHING especially in a creature feature.
