I think it would be great to redo this movie... It's one of my all time favorites! It would be interesting to see what they would do with it now.

Roald dahl did not intend this story to be a kids story, he wrote 2 versions of the story, first one was a horror, it was the people who published his books that told him to alter it because his other books were kids books, so i think a remake of this film would be good as it would be the way roald dahl intened it to be instead of some stupids kids book and film

Why mess with a good thing.The original was not a horror movie so why try to make it as such.Also your messing with Roald Dahl who is a children's author.i am sure alot of kids that watched it back then would not approve of messing with a work of art.I know my daughter who loved the book and movie is not impressed.

I think the original is a classic kids tale. If they couuld get Angelica Huston back as the Grand High Witch, the movie would be fantastic, because no one will ever compaire to her as the head witch.

There's an idea...let's remake a film with the same actor's and everything! That'll be cool!
The whole point of a remake, no matter how pointless, is to have different writer's/director's/and actor's do the movie!

A remake? Good idea!They shouldn't change the original cast thought.Anjelica Huston is great,absolutely georgous and i think that she is the only one for this part.If Anjelica plays then it is definately going to be another smash hit!

Is this based on the book by Roahl Dahl?! If it is, then it looks like I'm gonna have to read the book before I can give any fair comment on this movie.
You say it's being remade too?! I don't remember EVER hearing about the original to this movie before! Wow!!! Makes me fell like I'm missing out!

I agree with the previous comments that this movie shouldn't be remade and that angelica houston was great but imagine an R rated version of the film? I would love to see that... focus more on the horror apects of that movie cause the first scenes of the film like where the little girl gets snatched in that random alley by the witch and she lives in like a picture forever like thats great scary stuff! scared the crap outta me

There's NO way you can to Angelica Houston. They remake stuff like this so the kids now can have a bit of what we had when we were kids but hey here's an idea, rent the movie and let them watch it instead of remaking it since you can't think of any original ideas!

I hope to God that this film will actually be scary! I saw the first, but i was like 1 or 2 when it came out, and it had a lot to offer...to kids in the 10 year old age and down
