The Woods
A young girl's parents drop their neglected daughter off at a remote boarding school in the forest. When the girl's classmates begin disappearing from the school, she tries to discover the root of the problem and finds that it's related to a mysterious dwelling in the woods.

A source tells UHM that the September 16th limited release has now been abandoned and no official release has been set. Although the source goes on to say that the film will most likely receive a limited released towards the end of the year.

Star Bruce Campbell talked with SciFi Wire recently about the film and his role in it, saying... "The story is a school girl's worst nightmare come true. She's being sent off to boarding school, which is horrible enough. And there are all these clichéd fears of what'll happen. You'll get raped or attacked or the woods will get you, and it all happens. So it's this girl's worst nightmare come true."
He then added... "I get in on the action a little bit. I come and go. But I actually live, which is amazing. I was fully expecting to die. Agnes has got a very interesting sensibility to her. Patricia Clarkson is the evil headmistress at the school. The film really should be called The Evil Women at the Evil School."

The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly included an exclusive pic for the film and briefly spoke with star Agnes Bruckner. You can check the pic to your right and Agnes was quoted saying...
"It's a psychological horror film with a lot of schoolgirls and an ax. It's very gory. There's running and screaming, falling and axing - a lot of fun." She then added... "Sometimes you watch a horror movie and the first five minutes, someone gets killed and you don't even know the character. That's definitely not this movie. You really get to know these characters, so once something does happen, you actually feel for them."

- The film was originally set to have a wide theatrical release September 2nd.
- Director M. Night Shyamalan (Signs) has a movie with this same title, and it's been reported that Night's film may go under a title-change because of it.
- The film begins shooting September 15th in Montreal.
- Patricia Clarkson will play the school's headmistress in the movie,
- Agnes Bruckner will star as a teenager who discovers that disappearances at her remote girls' school are connected to a mysterious presence in the surrounding forest.
