Underworld: Rise of the Lycans
1 2 3

The film traces the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires known as "Death Dealers" and their onetime slaves, the Lycans. In the Dark Ages, a young Lycan named Lucian emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor, the cruel vampire king who has enslaved them. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, Sonja, in his battle against the Death Dealer army and his struggle for Lycan freedom.

10.24.07
The Techo's Guild reports that filming is scheduled to begin in January '08 and end sometime in March in Auckland, New Zealand. There's currently no word on whether Kate Beckinsale will return or what kind of involvement original writer/director Len Wiseman will have.

8.01.07

6.10.06
Creator Len Wiseman spoke to iFMagazine recently, where he answered a couple questions about the film. When asked about what fans can expect, here's what he had to say: "The third film is going to be a prequel. It will be the origin story and we find out things we didn’t know about Lucian; he’ll have a much bigger part in it. It will be about the creation [of the races] and what started the war. It will be a period piece. In terms of the writing, a lot of the writing has been done. We’ve been developing UNDERWORLD 3 for a while. I won’t be directing UNDERWORLD 3; I’m just going to be producing and writing."

According to earlier reports wife and actress Kate Beckinsale was supposedly not going to have a role in the film, but it looks like she may return as Selene after all... "It will be in the time period before, but it will overlap into the creation of her as well. We’re in the process of seeing how far we go with that."

5.24.06
Actress Kate Beckinsale spoke to MTV recently, where she revealed that she won't be returning as Seline in this film, as she believes the storyline will actually take place before her character comes into the story.

- Actress Rhona Mitra plays "Sonja," Viktor's daughter and cause of the war between the Vamps and the Lycans.
- The director of the previous installments, Len Wiseman, will only serve as producer this time 'round.
- The film will be told through the eyes of the Lycans.
- Actors Bill Nighy (Viktor) and Michael Sheen (Lucian) return.
- Danny McBride (Underworld, Underworld: Evolution) wrote the script.
- The directorial debut of FX artist Patrick Tatopoulos, who has worked on the creature effects for the past two films.
- It's said that Kate Beckinsale will most likely not be in the film.
- This is said to be a period film that will describe the creation of the feuding races and what started the war.
- More info behind Lucian will be revealed.
- A prequel to the first film.

No shot or sequence is put in a film by accident, never and if you follow the plot line and the shot sequences in the movies they all point to Lucian being alive as a Hybrid. In the second film it was shown that any corvenus could become a hybrid by drinking of injecting the blood of either vampire or Lycan, thats how Marcus became a hybrid and also the reason Celine can stand sunlight. Michael is the direct mortal decendant of those bloodlines. so know ing how the corvenus blood works theres no doubt that after Lucian injected himself with Michaels blood that Lucian had/has the potential to become a hybrid, shortly after injection, Lucian meets with Kraven. After Kraven shoots Lucian, Raze returns with Amelia's blood the vial drops right by Lucians uncouncious body, Raze runs off in a rage leaving the vampire blood right by Lucian, Sometime after that Lucian is up and crawling around, and considering where Lucian wound up being near the end of the film it's not really a stretch to consider that he took a few seconds to inject himself with the vampires blood, thus making him a hybrid which means it would take alot more than just silver nitrate to snuff him out. now in the second film theres a single scene in where Lucian, Viktor and Amelia's bodies are lying on slabs on Ole AC's boat. it would not be too much of a stretch to condier that Lucian regains counciousness shortly after that scene considering the ammount off time it took for michael to regain counciousness after marcus stuck him with the pipe, therefore Lucian could have very well been off the boat before it blew up. there alot more potential for the lucien character and even more covens or coven sects of vampires and rogue lycans, cause if rouge or dormant sects were not valid than why was'nt Amelia near Marcus and Viktor during her 100 year reighn leaving Kraven second in command of that area. either way theres alot to consider there

I THINK THEY SHOULD MAKE A FOURTH TO SHOW HOW MICHEAL AND SELENE WAS AND TO SHOW ANOTHER WAR BEING STARTED AND A FIFTH MOVIE TO SHOW HOW MICHEAL AND MARCUS STARTED AND HOW VICTOR BECAME THE PACK LEADER AND HOW WILLIAM TERRORIZE THE HUMANS AND THE VAMPIRES AND WHEN SELENE PARENTS GET INVOLVE BY BUILDING WILLIAM' S PRISON AND HOW VICTOR TRIED TO CONTROL WILLIAM' S RAGE OF KILLING

I really enjoyed the movie - though anyone who saw the first two knew the plot from the beginning. I did not know Craig Parker was in it, the surprise made it even better. He's such a nice person. And for Michael Sheen - wow, it seems he can do anything in a convincing way - he's rising high on my favourite actors list. I think Rhona was a good choice for playing Sonja, she has a kind of masculine look to match the role. A little - really just a wee little - bit like Steven Tyler.

Loved this movie, although I kinda had a few problems with the story toward the end but over all it was great. I hope they do one more film either about Amelia, Alexander or the two sons and how they each ended up the way they did.

i really enjoyed the film, and i honestly think the voiceover Kate did in the begining and the clip of her at the end really helped the predictable movie out. Rhona was ok, i'd have to say Kate is way better, but overall i'd give this film 8.5!
