The Wolfman

Lawrence Talbot's childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. But when his brother's fiancée, Gwen Conliffe, tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers, and that a suspicious Scotland Yard inspector named Aberline has come to investigate.

As he pieces together the gory puzzle, he hears of an ancient curse that turns the afflicted into werewolves when the moon is full. Now, if he has any chance at ending the slaughter and protecting the woman he has grown to love, Talbot must destroy the vicious creature in the woods surrounding Blackmoor. But as he hunts for the nightmarish beast, a simple man with a tortured past will uncover a primal side to himself, one he never imagined existed.

im not sure about this one. if it were a remake, its years overdue with dracula and frankenstein being done a long time ago. this sounds more like just a character theft for a different story to me.

Rick Baker is the man, and his work on Men in Black 1 & 2 (the aliens design), Batman Forever (Two-Face design), The Nutty Professor 1 & 2 (the klumps design) and The Howling (werewolf's design). Baker's design on the Wolfman is great.

Find a few pictures for this movie, and I have to say Rick Baker's make-up design for the Wolfman is amazing. Hey, this guy did a good job on An American Werewolf in London (1981).

I'm into some classic horror movies but sadly never have been into
this type...I don't know why but it has never appealed to me not even
as a child it never did, nor did ever scare or give me nightmares. How interesting the only time the nightmares really came was when
"Nightmare on Elmstreet" happened to be on tv & I was like 11 or 12
years old...talk about NOT GETTING ANY SLEEP for a WEEK!

Yeah, 10th PLANET, i could not agree with you more, that is usually a really good reason why release dates are moved up. I hope they don't completely **** this film up. I really don't think they will, Benicio Del Toro is an amazing actor who does not get the credit he deserves! These old classic horror films should be the only remakes I think, not to make over the orginal story but to add a more up to date view with better effects.

Wooow, the release date just killed it for me. For them to movee it to early November from April means the producers must not be happy with the finished product. A lot of people here won't know what I'm talking about but I know the way studios operate, and that date is not a good sign. What a shame, I was so hyped to see this too. I'll wait to see Creature From The Black Lagoon.

YES! it's remake sure, but THE WOLFMAN! the original, and with anthony hopkins no less(btw del toro already looks kinda beastly so that was a good choice as well) I was just ranting on the new moon page about the bastardization of this genre and this film just might bring some dignity back to the werewolf genre! c'mon, scare me again! I want to be afraid that a wolf will come out of the woods and eat me, not steal my girlfriend! wtf happened to this genre?

It seems as if werewolf movies are going to be making a comeback very soon, and this is going to lead the way into the new millenium. I'm very excited for this remake because for once everything just seems to sit right with me. The casting is excellent, the story is very interconnected, and the overall film looks pretty sweet from what they've shown in the trailer. I really think that this will pave the way for the longawaited reimaging of the greatest, most original monsters of all time!
Just my opinion.
