Akkad Vs. Universal: The Original HALLOWEEN II Blu-ray Controversy

halloweenIIblu.jpg
After finally making its Blu-ray debut this week and bringing the documentary "Terror In The Aisles" to an updated format.  You would think every Halloween fan would be happy with the original 1981 Halloween II Blu-ray debut.  However, there's one person that is clearly not happy.  Who you may ask: Malek Akkad, the son of the late Moustapha Akkad (who served producer roles in the Halloween franchise).

What did Universal do you may ask:  according to his son, Universal blatantly omitted his father's name not only on the cover art, but also in the opening credits to the film; replacing them with the Universal logo.  Ryan Turek of ShockTillYouDrop.com caught up with his son where he shared the following words:

It's disgusting...It's a disgrace, obviously, bias, objectively, any horror fan would find this as an insult to the man who has done so much to the series. And to come after his tragic death, he's not even around to defend himself. It's classless. I'm talking to Universal now and they're 'looking into it.

A facebook page has been set up here by devoted fans to boycott the release and demand Universal re-release the Blu-ray.

What's your opinion?  Is it a big issue for you or do you not have the slightest care?  Share with us if you will!
