BLAIR WITCH 3 may finally happen

blairwitch.jpg
Another Blair Witch sequel has been in talks for almost a decade now, but it seems that the project may finally be inching closer to reality. Creators Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sánchez have recently expressed interest in revisiting the witch and have compiled a pitch for Lionsgate, who own the rights to the films.

Whether or not the project actually moves forward is entirely up to the studio, but the duo revealed that the story would take place shortly after the events of the first film, ignoring the previous sequel, and possibly even bringing back actors Heather Donahue, Joshua Leonard and Michael C. Williams in some sort of cameo appearance.

Sánchez also revealed that the potential film would rely less on characters speaking directly to the camera, and more on what he referred to as "mixed first-person," which is supposedly something he hopes to experiment with on another genre project he's working on.

Back in 2004 a script was supposedly written and sent to Lionsgate, who apparently wasn't too keen on it at the time. A prequel, the original premise was said to chronicle the events that led to the township of Blair driving an accused witch named Elizabeth Kedward into the woods, and the subsequent hauntings that plaqued the town for decades after her supposed death.
