frightnightoriginal.jpg
According to the LA Times, Craig Gillespie is close to signing on to direct the Fright Night remake for DreamWorks. Gillespie is better known from his comedy efforts as director for flicks like Lars and the Real Girl in 2007 and Mr. Woodcock starring Billy Bob Thornton. He also served as producer and director for the hit Showtime series United States of Tara.

The remake is penned by writer Marti Noxon, who wrote several episodes of Mad Men for AMC and also served as writer/producer for the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. The remake is said to be on the fast-track with the studio. More info on the potential film can be found here.
