Doug Bradley NOT returning for new HELLRAISER

dougpinhead.jpg

The interwebz has been buzzing lately with the sudden info on a new Hellraiser sequel in development titled, Hellraiser: Revelations. No relation to the much talked-about Hellraiser remake (still in development) the pic will be directed by Victor Garcia (Return to House on Haunted Hill, Mirrors 2) and is written by Hellraiser series FX-vet Gary Tunnicliffe.

Following the announcement the first thing that comes to the mind of the fans is whether or not actor Doug Bradley will be returning as the infamous Pinhead. Until now it was just a rumor, but DC spoke with the man himself and confirms that he will NOT be returning, making it the first time in 8 Hellraiser films that Doug will not reprise his role.

Apparently he feels that Dimension is rushing the project far too fast and that they're not making a serious attempt to revive the franchise. No word if this means another actor will take over as Pinhead or if the horror icon will even show up in the film at all, which is said to be another stand-alone, much like the past straight-to-DVD sequels. More info on Hellraiser: Revelations can be found here.

i love hellraiser and what it stands for despite some of the movies that had problems theres always been a key element too them all and that was the cenobites. You can do a hellraiser without pinhead but he brought a voice to the cenobites giving some explanation of whats going on else its just another bunch of demon/monsters wanting to kill some teens. When a hellraiser is made it requires that 1 cenobite that seems to be in control of the others giving some kind of order and motive too it all. I love the actor who plays pinhead and i can see why he wouldn't take the role under the circumstances he has given because lets face it if they were to rush it and it came out bad we all would look to him to blame and the franchise would be dead with only 1 hope of it coming back and that would be clive barker. I have my own hellraiser movie ideas i would love to put forward too these guys to make but the chances of that happaning is like me geting it on with shakira Tongue i will look for the hellraiser remake and this one you talking about with hope but i dont see this being any good at all just like nightmare on else street remake Sick

I am ready for the remake. Le's see where they can take it with that. Bradley is getting old and its time for a new turn.

I know many will disagree but I am tired of Pinhead. The big music and him arriving like an ICON. It's great and all but before he was an ICON Hellraiser was scary and dark. The hell was full of different unknown terror lurking. Now it's just about Pinhead's big entrance. I think it was the demon's around him that were actually scary.

So nice to hear that Mr Bradley thought about it. Kudos. Crazy

the number one rule for a Hellraiser film is to have Doug Bradley play pinhead, i love the series but i have to give this one a thumbs down since no D.B.
