Ridley Scott returns for ALIEN prequel!!
The film is set up to be a prequel to the groundbreaking 1979 film that Scott directed. It will precede that film, in which the crew of a commercial towing ship returning to Earth is awakened and sent to respond to a distress signal from a nearby planetoid. The crew discovers too late that the signal generated by an empty ship was meant to warn them.
Spaihts has become a go-to-guy for space thrillers. After Keanu Reeves became attached to his Warner Bros. sci-fi script "Shadow 19," Reeves hired Spaihts to write the space journey epic "Passengers," which is berthed at Morgan Creek. That script got Spaihts the meeting with Fox and Scott Free, and he won the job with an "Alien" reboot take that the studio and Scott loved.

Ah, ALien, that movie gave me nightmares as a kid and still scares me quite a bit to this day, even though you see the xenomorph coming. And a prequel by the original director? i wanna watch, hopefully, it will be far better than the last three travesties the aliens were in. A:R, AvP, and AvP:R, a horse shitting on a parade route could have done a far better job than that!

Ridley Scott, the teacher had returned, let the class begin. This director is fantastic for his visuals. Can't wait to see what he has to offer after 30 years of technological progress. Isolation can be very creepy out in space, especially when there's a alien involved that wants nothing to do with communicating whith you.
...and Tony Scotts' remake of 'The Warriors' should be just as cool too!
I loved the first ALIEN movie!! It scared me beyond belief in fact...(imagination is stronger than what you actually see, except in The Exorcist)and if Ridley wants to come back to make a prequel, well,I have to applaud it!

If you listen to his commentary on the ALIEN dvd, he has been toying around the idea of doing a movie on the origin of the alien species for years, and that he hoped to be able to make the film. Well, it looks like it's going to happen now!!

This is the best movie news I've heard of in years. I hope and pray this is true. I think only Ridley Scott can bring respectibility back to the franchise.
this will be awesome. My dad took me to see the original when i was 8. I threw up in the movie along with everyone else during the stomach scene. A great time was had by all.....
it would be amazing if they do this "prequel" in 3-D...anyone?
