Shout! Factory Re-release Original PIRANHA on DVD/Blu-ray
On April 6th, 2010, Shout! Factory plans to re-release this cult 1978 horror film on DVD. Even better yet, you will also be able to experience all this chaos on High Definition Blu-ray! The release comes 10 days before audiences experience Alexandre Aja's 3D remake version in theatres! DVD/Blu-ray cover art can be viewed on the top. No confirmed special features at this time, but given the cover art indicates 2-discs, I can only imagine were gonna have some pretty decent ones! Stay tuned for further developments!
Premise:
Lost River Lake wasia thriving resort - until they discovered…
A school of piranha are heading downstream and eating everything in their way... just when you though it was safe to go back in the water! Produced by legendary producer-director Roger Corman, Piranha is the film that helped spawn the careers of Joe Dante (director), Jon Davison (producer), John Sayles (writer), Rob Bottin (special effects), and Chris Walas (effects). Starring Kevin McCarthy, Keenan Wynn, Bradford Dillman, and Heather Menzies, as well as long time Corman-faves Dick Miller, Barbara Steele, and Paul Bartel.
