- Produced by Modernciné (The Girl Next Door).
- Jack Ketchum will also write the script.
- Another person reportedly owns the rights to Off Season, but have since kept the project in a limbo stage, which led to another studio picking up Offspring and moving it forward without the first adaptation.
- Based on the Jack Ketchum novel Offspring, the sequel to Off Season.
