Orphan
Kate and John are a couple grieving over the tragic loss of their unborn child. It's taking a toll on both their marriage and Kate's fragile psyche as she is plagued by nightmares and haunted by demons from her past. Struggling to regain some semblance of normalcy in their lives, the couple decides to adopt another child. At the local orphanage, both John and Kate find themselves strangely drawn to a young girl named Esther.
Almost as soon as they welcome Esther into their home, however, an alarming series of events begins to unfold, leading Kate to believe that there's something wrong with Esther - this seemingly angelic little girl is not what she appears to be. Concerned for the safety of her family, Kate tries to get John and others to see past Esther's sweet facade. But her warnings go unheeded until it may be too late...for everyone.

fantastic twist at the end. first time in a while i didn't see it coming.
OMG!! Loved it..at first i thought it was going to suck., i waited to rent it..but i was put in my place real fast. The movie kicked ass! If you have not seen it already , go get it!
This movie KICKED ASS I highly reccomend if you get the chance take the time You are on the edge of your seat throughout most of it and when the pieces are put together you are in pure shock and awe cos this movie was incredible. Can't wait to buy my copy!!
I just saw this last night. I had no idea what to expect. This is a great movie. I was on the edge of my seat by the third act. This is a horror movie done right. Highly recommended.
This movie was one of the best I'd ever seen in my life. It was so scary that every little girl I saw I was terrifyed of (not really) but still This is one of the scariest movies ever and is most definetly and instant favorite of mine and to any fan to watch in the future.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt I got my money's worth. Isabelle Fuhrman played her part extremely well and the ending kept me creeped out hours after I left the theater. To sum it up:Shocking. Thumbs up for me.
I went to go see this one rainy afternoon with my best friend and the movie turned out pretty good in my opinion. Lately, I hadn't been too keen on the horror movie genre since horror movies are now PG-13 (WTF is horror without an R or NC-17 rating?? Disney channel type of crap). It was very well put together and the ending knocked my suspicions right out the water. It does have it's fair share of blood and thrills, but not too over the top. I assumed this movie was gonna be like Children of the Corn mixed with the Good Son but I was wrong. I liked it so much, I'm considering seeing it a second time.
I definitely disagree with whomever said this movie was bad. It was put together very well and kept the suspense up until the end. The twist is not easy to figure out, though if you are a die hard horror movie fan, you will probably be able to come close. Anyone who appreciates good horror movies would notice how in this movie they give you scenes where you THINK something is going to happen, because typically it does, and then it is nothing there. I thought it was clever. I thought it was going to be like The Good Son too, but it is COMPLETELY different and not even like that movie. There is a good amount of blood and gore in this film. If you need any clarification, the movie is Rated R. The plot drags on at some points, but overall, I would reccomend this film to anyone who just enjoys horror/suspense.
My girlfriend and I got passes to an advanced screening of "Orphan" and it was bad. It started off ok, then it got boring, then when the twist came it got hilarious, but it was all together bad.
Sooo.. basically don't waste my money on going to see this in theater. Got it =]
I'll wait til it's available and rent it, if I like it.. then I'll buy it, lol.
Thanks for the heads up, person I don't know. I was actually planning on going to go watch this in theater's, now I'm going to save my sheckles for Halloween 2!
Movie didn't look that great to begin with, in my opinion. Basically just The Good Son, but with a girl.
