Deep Web (2018)

REVIEWER RATING:
6/10

Everyone knows what the World Wide Web is. Some even know what Deep Web is. But there is a subgenre of the lowest depravity amongst snuff film enthusiasts…and that is Deep Web.

An older gentleman walks casually into a darkened room in his home, opens up his laptop and reads from a message from “Queen of Hearts”, guiding him into the deep web. Without much hesitation, the man begins to click on various videos with disturbing titles that ignite curiosity.

We are treated to feminist dominatrix hosts who whip, slap and ridicule their male mates donning latex clothing, and enjoying the submission amongst a secret society similar to that of Eyes Wide Shut, although some are sporting bunny costume heads.

On the other side of the spectrum, an extreme video soon appears of a gay underground nightclub with scantily clothed biker men who brutally rape (what seems to be) a wanting participant, with a gloved fist. It’s enough to turn your stomach while other members not only watch, but hold the victim still in the suspension chains.

A housewife is slowly tortured in a home invasion by a perverted man with vicious intentions, stripping her down and keeping a knife at her bare skin and breasts at all times.

There are three young women who are used as an experiment after ingesting drugs and are videotaped throughout the nauseating side effects, resulting in a tragic conclusion.

And if that isn’t enough, a blindfolded woman is force fed some nastiness that ends in a bloody mess.

Is the viewer a mere voyeur? A researcher? A….problem solver?
Needless to say, his reactions to each video grows more and more disconcerting, leading all to believe he is probably looking for the ultimate masturbation material. Alas, as is the case with most of Unearthed Films, there is always a twist at the end. Just be prepared!

OVERALL:
Deep Web, albeit revolting, is not the edgiest or most malicious film in the disturbing movie market these days. However, always be aware of your surroundings when watching extreme cinema. I must remember this before screening disturbing flicks on an airplane full of children, heading to Walt Disney World. Not for the faint of heart…and not the best choice of material to have streaming on my laptop in a public area. Ha!
