Finally got around to checking this movie out and it's just as I expected it to be - clichéd, unoriginal, but somewhat interesting. This movie obviously isn't anything special. Plot is simple enough beginning with a popular pimp-type character played by Snoop Dogg, who is somewhat of a neighborhood hero and is looked high upon by many of the locals. He's murdered. Fast forward a couple decades and a group of youths decide to turn the old place where he was murdered into a new club. Blah blah, doesn't take long before he returns from the dead and kills off all those who betrayed him.

This film is as clichéd as they come. The special effects were alright and the directing wasn't bad from the same guy who did the movie Demon Knight. Acting from Snoop was good, but it wasn't a real stretch from his real character. The movie had a good amount of gore, which is one of the reasons I gave the movie a 5-rating. Another reason would be that it did keep my interest despite the fact that it's nothing that I've already seen. What really annoyed me about the film was the pink-colored blood. I have no idea why they couldn't come up with better looking blood than that. It pretty much made the movie less realistic than it already was. The DVD I rented had a nice abundance of deleted scenes. They were all cut for time and such. One was cut because it was thought to have some bestiality influence.

OVERALL

Cliched slasher film. Nothing special. Has some decent gore, but the pink blood was very annoying. Check this if you got nothing to rent.
