well i pretty much live in Detroit...apparently Bizarre had a cd coming out on the 23rd(yesterday its wed. the 24th) and a a record store around the block from me called Rock of Ages(they always have people ocme in and do singings) anyways me and my buddies drove by the record store smokin a blunt and on there sign it said "meet d12s bizarre to at 7pm" so we got even more blayzed up and went up there..it was funny as fuck...bizzare was blunted as fuck..and his boy king gordy(hes a local detroit rapper..not to big..hes got a small part in 8 mile) was str8 lookin asian he was so high lol..
there wernt even any people there..basicly just me and a bunch of my friends cuz as soon as i found out i called all my boys...i got him to sign the devils nite cd for me adn on it he wrote "Bizarre d12 STAY HIGH"

Planet Terror: 9/10 Exactly what I would expect from a Grindhouse presentation.

The Reaping: 8/10 Disliked some of the poor CG graphic/real scene intergration like the cows. Still solid film. Feels like this generation's Omen almost.

1408: 7/10 Usual King book-to-movie setup, though better than many of the attempts to visualize his books. Some of the graphics were weak and the ending was not at all surprising. Nonetheless, fairly effective as a 'small space' spook flick.

Beyond the Darkness - 6/10 was kind of boring, found myself pausing it time to time to do other things. Gore scenes were alright, but nothing disturbing as I have heard. The film is famous for "using a real body during creamation". I dont think it was real, just hype like any other film.

I did enjoy the film on some aspects, especially since you cant find a recent movie about necrophilia etc, (other than August Underground etc.)

Dead and Breakfast-8/10. this is a great black comedy. it has plenty of laughs, music, and good special effects (no CGI used at all) to keep you entertained the whole way. the first 30 minutes is a slasher, with a homage to The Burning, then it kicks into this half zombie/half deadite story line.

I just watched The Reaping. 6.5/10. It was good but I really wish they elaborated more on, well, everything. It felt like they could've done so much more with this. I would've like to learn more about the the plagues and maybe see them not be so localized but rather have the events effect places around the world like we saw in the seventh sign. But all in all, second to planet terror, it was one of the better movies I've seen lately.

The most recent horror movie or something there of that I watched was The Mist. I was pretty impressed. I read the book before I saw the movie. The movie follows the book decently close. They left out a few things and changed the ending completely. I think they should have left the ending the same as the book. It would have left you wanting more. The creature Fx were good. I would suggest people to go see the movie. Its about two hours long but you cant even tell because it is so good. I would give it 3 1/2 stars out of 4. A definite see.

Calvaire. 8/10. Fucked up movie. NO resolve, NO variation in tone. It's just bizarre and disturbing the hole way through.
Also I just watched Hell's Gate. I'll give it 7/10 only because it was obvious it was very low budget but they still managed to have a few good scares and a couple of the actors were surprisingly convincing. There is one scene in the movie were you can see the shadow from the boom mic in the background. Funny stuff.

Broken 8/ 10. I wasnt expecting much from this movie but it turned out to be really good. I havent been grossed out by a movie in a while but this one had a few scenes i had a hard time watching. Starts off kinda of sketchy but by the time the movie's over you're sold on it. check it out for sure.

Calvaire is a french movie about a singer traveling to a gig...alone..on the countryside ( of course something is going to happen) van breaks down. gets taken in by crazy inn keeper in even crazier villiage. little bit of gore, rape, raping of animals. It was just a really wierd movie.

I checked out Isolation, Black Sheep and Murder Party back to back recently....

Isolation 9/10. I loved this movie. It reminded me a lot of Alien which was a very welcomed surprise. I didn't know what to expect from this movie, I was just looking for something to rent that I haven't seen before so I was like "fuck it, get this one." So good though, I definitely recommend this one.

Black Sheep 7/10. Not a serious movie at all which I was hoping it would be but it was enjoyable nonetheless. It's silliness reminded of Dead Alive.

Murder Party 3/10. Pretty much a total shit fest. It was more disappointing that it looked liked, as the movie progressed, that it could turn into a very stylish, cool movie but it let me down severely. Hardly any murder at all. And all the dumb artsy assholes in this movie just made me furious. The dialogue couldn't be more contrived.
