View Full Version : New Wrinkle in CE: News of the Weird

Part of what made CE its own entity was the differentiation from General, née Mindless Chatter; for lack of a better description, "serious" discussion. Folks might not always agree, but it's good to get different ideas out there. I think that sort of thing has an important place.

That said, I'm not comfortable going forum fuhrer and saying this or that news story isn't "news enough" for CE. All that does is manufacture arguments, and turn this into a very self-important, humorless place.

Everyone likes the unusual now and again, including our news outlets. Strange stuff hits the wires all the time, and a lot of sites have a place for those more "out there" stories. So, in order to both keep an open door, as well as hold true to the spirit of the forum, I figure we might try the same thing here. If this turns into GC, redux, then it'll be a short-lived experiment, but I figure if people can "Like it or lump it" consistently for tens of pages, that shouldn't be a problem.

(Hat tip to Wrathborne for providing the inspiration with his triple-threat "Weekly News Presents" thread).

Only thing better than the story is the writer calling it "feisty" when a couple guys lost digits. :spit:

To that, Saleh said, "What are you going to do -- shoot me?"

:spit:

Yeah I'm pretty sure the Secret Service would have no problem with that.
