Wrestling was best back in the early days, but now it's just too predictable.
Not only that they have one lame person hold a title for almost 3 years and most of the WWE fan base, which I tend to call "Sheep", still cheer this one lame person.
Well when you think about it, Hulk had the belt for like 3 years back in the early years and the fans always cheered him in a sheepish manner. Wrestling was predictable back then, at Wrestlemania 5 you knew that Hogan was going to beat The Macho Man.
Nothing really changed these days, they're just trying to make Cena the next Hulkster.

I'd like to see them give the title to someone totally out of left field. I'm not talking pulling a WCW and giving it to some B-actor or some wrestlers mother (what the fuck were they thinking?), but someone who has the talent but probably won't get a push any time soon for whatever reason.

Thats not going to happen anytime soon...trust me.
Cena is sooo protected by Vince and the writers its not even funny.
The Undertaker just recently won the title and isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
Lashley is getting a BIG push by Vince and isn't going to lose the title anytime soon.
The next champion is going to be Ken Kennedy when he cashes in his money in the bank. Going to be interesting to see what brand championship he goes for.
And IMO Kennedy doesn't deserve to be champion.....he's good on the mic..but besides that he has no more talent then Orton.

Not happening anytime soon. When he takes on HBK again at Backlash Cena's going to win. If HBK was going to beat Cena it would of been at Wrestlemania 23.

Not necessarily. WrestleMania is the biggest event of the year, so it made sense to give Cena the win at that event because they consider him to be the future of the WWE and want him to build his "WrestleMania moments". If Michaels and Cena have a rematch at Backlash I wouldn't be surprised if Michaels wins. However, if he did win I don't think his reign would last that long - they would probably put the belt back on Cena not much long after.

I agree....but I would bet on Cena winning at Backlash. I have a feeling they might make it a 3 way or 4 way match. Might add Orton and Edge in the mix. But more then likely it may be Edge and Orton having a match of their own at Backlash. But it wouldn't surprise me if they made the main event a 3 or 4 way match.

Shawn should have had that match. I mean, yeah, his shoulders were down, but he was on top of Orton for fuck's sake. Yeah, I know that's how the writers wrote it. They've done a few matches like that in the past and it still sucks.

In fact, I think I remember the Survivor Series of what I think was 2001 where the stipulation was that if Stone Cold's team lost, he had to leave the WWE. During the match, Shawn Micheals sweet chined a guy and fell on him the same way he did last night and it was a 1-2-3 pin, no questions asked. I guess that shit only counts when the writers want it to.
Edit: Survivor Series 2003 is the one I'm talking about.

I own that PPV and I believe Orton pinned HBK...im pretty sure
Just when it looks like Shawn can get up to get the pin in comes Batista to hit a power bomb on Shawn Michaels, so Orton can just barely drape over an for a three count. Even though he was booked to look amazing I must say that Shawn’s performance makes me want a cigarette. Austin goes to the ring to look at what is left of HBK, and put a hand on his bloody chest. Steve hugs Michaels to his feet, nods to him, and shake his hand despite the fact that now
he is “Fired” from the WWE.

Also like to note back to the whole sinking ship theory.
Even the IMMORTAL Hulk Hogan couldnt bring things back on track. Also didnt help that only person he jobbed to for the most part was the Rock.
On a sidenote, if it wasnt obvious before it should be now. Umaga/Lashley arent over at all and even with the attempts of having the McMahons reanact the Austin vs. McMahon Attitude Era fued except with Lashley. It hasnt worked at all and the problem is Austin had more charisma in one knee brace than Lashley has in his whole character.

There are several major news items to report from Sunday’s “Lockdown” event, which featured the crowning of new World Tag Team champions and Sting earning a World Title shot against Christian Cage at May’s Sacrifice!
- On the countdown preshow, Christy Hemme’s team of Serotonin lost to the Voodoo Kin Mafia
- Chris Sabin retained his X Championship in the Xscape match by escaping the bout first before Jay Lethal
- Senshi defeated Austin Starr with Mr. Backlund serving as referee
- James Storm defeated Chris Harris in the blindfold match
- Robert Roode defeated Petey Williams
- “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels defeated Jerry Lynn
- Gail Kim defeated Jackie Moore
- NEW World Tag Team Champions were crowned as Team 3D defeated The Latin American Xchange
- And in the Lethal Lockdown main event, Sting earned the World Title shot by pinning Abyss after a guitar shot by Jeff Jarrett on the monster!
Nice to see Jarrett back and The Dudleys finally have the tag titles. Sounds like a good TNA pay per view.Jarrett was out because he had to heal some nagging injuries and his wife is battling cancer.

Good for the Italian dude. I'm guessing he's a new signing to the WWE.
I love women. Especially attractive women. But by god, the whole diva fashion show was a big ass waste of time. Just like Vince talking through the first goddamned 15 mintues of the show almost was if it wasn't for the crowning of a new champ. Unless they plan on showing a special 12:00A.M.-2:00A.M. edition of Raw that features all the divas getting down in a lesbian orgy, I don't really need to see them anymore. Really, all it is to me now is a showcase of the type of pussy I'll never be able to land.

Although this will be edited, live they weren't ready for MVP's entrance and had to stall. Chris Benoit used the Sharpshooter on Helms for the win.
WWE Tag Team champions Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. Deuce & Domino

*They recap Backlash. No new matches.
Kane vs. William Regal and Dave Taylor

Kristal Marshall arrives and shows Long all the expensive things she bought while shopping. Long tells her that the time they have spent together is the best time of his life and they kiss.
WWE World champion Undertaker vs. Ken Kennedy
Kennedy put himself over on the mic when he entered the ring. Undertaker had his grand entrance. Finlay interferes to cause a DQ. Kennedy and Finlay beat down Undertaker. Kane hits the ring to make the save, which may take place after the show goes off the air.
New tag champs.....london and kendrick held the titles for a long time....weird for them to lose the titles on Smackdown...think they would lose the titles at a PPV.

The RAW taping in London, England last night was supposed to feature Randy Orton vs. Edge, however that did not happen. WWE.com have included the following statement in their recap on the official website:
Although other matches were scheduled for the night, including a contest pitting Edge against Randy Orton, the length of the main event left no room for other battles.
Clearly this is a smokescreen given Orton's actions in Europe last week. He was not present at the RAW taping in England yesterday, and it remains to be seen if he will even feature in the Backlash main-event on Sunday. As always, we will keep you updated with events.
Interesting to see why the WWE are punishing Orton.

The Vengeance PPV poster has been released and it features the three brand Champions: John Cena, Bobby Lashley, and The Undertaker. That obviously suggests that all 3 will be holding their titles for a while longer yet.
***** END SPOILER *****
Some other tidbits or wrestling info :
-For those who haven't been keeping with the news, Orton was sent home from WWE's European tour last week after reportedly causing $50,000 worth of damage to a hotel room.
-With the strong success of the Degeneration X return last summer, an idea has surfaced of bringing back yet another legendary faction, The Four Horsemen.
The plan would be to have Arn Anderson return to the company and partner up with Ric Flair for one or two televised matches. The return would be used to help promote the new Four Horsemen DVD. Triple H is said to be the main person behind the reformation.
Arn is said to be positive about the idea, but due to legal liability reasons, the reformation will not happen unless he can obtain medical clearance.
-Super Crazy may have injured his ACL in a match this weekend. He was helped to the back after clutching his knee towards the end of the match. He did not work the following day.
-Last Friday at the TNA house show in Louisville, Kentucky, former WWE Tag Team Champions The Basham Brothers made their long awaited debuts in TNA.
On the card, Rhyno was scheduled to take on a mystery opponent in a street fight. His opponent was revealed to be Doug Basham. During the match, there was a great deal of interference by Basham's former tag team partner, The Damaja. The two are not actually brothers as they were portrayed in WWE.
The Damaja (formerly Danny Basham) had "Damaja" written on his tights and t-shirt. It is the same gimmick he used in WWE developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling before getting called up to SmackDown.
Doug Basham and The Damaja had a very heated feud in OVW, with Damaja perceived to have more potential as a heavyweight singles star. It is unknown is the two will remain affiliated on television in TNA storylines.

Now that I've stayed away from message boards like ROH and other indy feds who are so adament that "CM Punk is the creme de la shit", I like him more. And Burke is a great talent in his own right. They have the potential to have the "Match of the Night" on a PPV if they are given the time.

You know, I don't have a clue. Punk and Burke could fued over leadership, or just be Punk vs New Breed (with occassional help from the New Breed).
Punk could join the ECW Originals, stating that "they (RVD, Sabu, Sandman and Dreamer) are what made ECW great, and he wants to be that."

Its going to be hard to give Punk a belt considering he's in ECW, they only have one belt..and I can't see Punk beating Lashley anytime ever. Punk needs to go to Smackdown and feud with some characters like Finley and Kennedy and win the US title....then when his name becomes more mainstream send him to RAW and have him feud with Edge or some other big name...Punk is capable of 5 star matches.

Some tidbits of wrestling info: www.impactwrestling.com
-Rob Van Dam has turned down WWE's latest contract offer. His current contract is set to expire ovet the summer; possibly in late July, but it hasn't been confirmed. However, until the deal expires, there's always a chance that the two sides could come to an agreement.
The creative team has been instructed to focus their attention on CM Punk and Elijah Burke so that if RVD does indeed leave the company, it won't be too strong of a blow to the ECW storylines.
- Apparently, Andrew "Test" Martin recently contracted a major infection and it was shutting his body down. He says that he lost 45 pounds within two weeks.
-A video has turned up online of Shawn Michaels snubbing a fan's autograph request during WWE's recent tour of Italy. After HBK gets out of his automobile, a fan is standing by in hopes of landing an autograph, but HBK rebuffs his request by saying "I already did it dude" and he proceeds to walk into the hotel.
-It looks like Eugene is getting a new outfit that covers up his body see the pic here --->http://pwheadlines.com/Photos/index.php?gal=30¤tPic=1
WWE Champion John Cena vs. Edge vs. Randy Orton vs. Shawn Michaels (Fatal Four Way Match)
With Orton being a twat over in Europe I don't see him winning. I'd love for HBK to win, or hell Edge. In my opinion, Edge is the new-HBK - you never get a bad match. It will probably go like a lot of Cena matches with more than one person - - - Cena get's knocked out of the ring, stays there for 20 minutes, the other people fight, he runs in and FU's someone for the pin. WINNER: No f'n Clue
ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley vs. Mr. McMahon, Shane McMahon & Umaga (3-on-1 Handicap Match)
WWE be damned, we are going to see, and like, Bobby Lashley. I couldn't really care for this match either way. The New IC Champ, the Canadian that thinks he's Italian, might run out and take out Vince and Shane. But either way, this match is more or less just filler. WINNER: I could actually see Shane winning, and then losing it Tuesday back to Lashley. Or even Kennedy.
Kennedy!
World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker vs. Batista (Last Man Standing Match)
Taker. Taker. Taker. There's no way they ar de-titling him this early. Especially back to Batista. I honestly don't think Batista will be around much longer. He doesn't seem to have the drive and love of it like others do. I figure he's like Rock and wants to use wrestling as a launch pad. WINNER: Taker
World Tag Team Champions The Hardys vs. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch
GO REDNECKS! Well, not so much as them, as their theme. I love their theme. WINNER: Hardys
United States Champion Chris Benoit vs. MVP
I am one of MVP's biggest supporters. His recent matches with Benoit have just proven that I was right in saying, "He has skill". Rumors have it that they are going to move Benoit to Raw. Is that a smart idea? Smackdown is really void of Heavyweight Championship challengers right now - they really kind of need him there. WINNER: MVP (the belt will go with his outfit)
Women's Champion Melina vs. Mickie James
Well, all things considered, the Women's match last night on Smackdown between Jillian Hall and Michelle McCool was the 2nd best match of the night - the ladies are busting their asses as of late. This could be a barn burner - - but I don't really anticipate that. WINNER: Either

please tell me your kidding. edge is the most annoying person they ever employed. sure he had good matches when he was with christian as a tag team but he was overrated ever sense then, i dunno why they push him. he is not a creditable champion and that fucking spear he does is a joke. he is like 100 pounds and he spears people and we are suppose to believe that is a devistating move, please! i stopped watching after i saw him spear the big show one time i dont quite remember when it happen but i know i stopped for a few months after that stupid idea.

heres something for debate:
the current rosters goods and bads.
BAD
edge - annoying and stupid spear move
john cena - cant wrestle and hasnt improved sense hitting tv
chris masters - want to give the guy a chance but he hasnt done nothing for what 2 years now
eugene - pointless
khali - one move wonder
visera - pointless, jobber
mark henry - out on injury so much can never finish a story line
scotty too hotty - why is he still there lol
boogeyman - has he had a actual match, not just a squash
snitsky - not a fan he only got the big boot but maybe he will do something in ecw.
GOOD
Cm punk - needs and deserves a push, is able to put on some sick matches
jeff hardy - does miss alot of spots but could also put on some good matches
johnny nitro - with a good push seems like he could do some good matches
randy orton - if he ever gets his act together and stops acting up right before he gets a push everytime he could go somewhere
duce and domino - with more practice they could do something with the tag team devision finally
cryme tyme - same as d and d
shannon moore - yeah he is there somewhere all hype no chance to wrestle
kevin thorn - like this guy for some reason, has potential
yeah i didnt mention people like hhh, undertaker and shawn micheals because i am sick of the oldschoolers now, the new generation always seems to be held back cause a few dont know when to call it quits.the ones i didnt mention are in the i dont dislike or like group.

Yeah I agree with the list except for Edge....Edge is a good wrestler IMO...but the rest are pointless....especially Chris Masters...it's true he never did anything for two years...and now that his "master lock" is broken he has nothing. Mark Henry gets injured at least once a year and is out for like 4 months. But I bet when he comes back to Smackdown soon they're going to push him and have him in main event matches with Batista and The Undertaker...Mark Henry is overrated and boring.

I watched this on Pay Per View....a mediocre Pay Per View. Nothing really exciting happened, the way Cena won the main event pissed me off. HBK gave him the sweet chin music and Cena collapsed on Orton and pinned him.
The Undertaker and Batista match was "ok"...nothing really exciting....pretty cool ending with two of them falling off stage.
Vince winning the ECW title was different..but it didnt really excite me. Nice to see Umaga noticing Vince and Shane only used him....a little tension is starting to build up.
The Benoit and Mvp, Mickie and Melina, and Tag Title Matches were nothing special.

It was announced on WWE.com this afternoon that former ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley suffered a shoulder injury at Backlash last night in Atlanta. He is currently in Birmingham, Alabama awaiting diagnoses from Dr. James Andrews. Below is the official article:
Former ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley is in Birmingham, Ala. today waiting to meet with renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews to have his shoulder examined after suffering an injury during last night’s 3-on-1 Handicap Match at Backlash.
Lashley lost the championship last night to Mr. McMahon after the Chairman, Shane McMahon and Umaga overwhelmed him during the Handicap Match. It has been suggested that Lashley's shoulder injury has been lingering since WrestleMania 23. Lashley may have further aggravated the injury during his match last night. WWE.com will give more updates as they become available.
Dr. Andrews is respected as the preeminent physician athletes seek when they suffer sports injuries. He has performed surgery on Triple H after “The Game” tore his quadriceps muscles on two separate occasions.

The first Raw match was pretty good. I was surprised to hear how positively the crowd reacted towards Randy though I figured he wouldn't get the win because of what happened in Europe. If he can get his act straightened up, I wouldn't object to seeing him get the title again. Anybody but Cena, I guess.

No, it's not just you. RAW gets much better ratings then Smackdown. Reasons being, RAW has more big-name stars plus it's aired live which helps add to the excitment of watching it.

1) Raw is live 2) Does have the guys that are known 3) Not all people have CW. It wasn't until recently that I actually got UPN/CW.

I hope not. I like Thorn. At first I was like, "A vampire. I know it's SciFi Channel and all, but come on!" But they've kept the whole "vampire" aspect of him subtle. He's not going around biting people on the neck, or being wheeled out in a coffin. It's better as "Thorn and Ariel are followers of vampirism." ...I'd probably follow Ariel anywhere.

Well currently TNA is going to be more competition then ROH. at the next TNA Pay Per View the main event is Christian vs Angle vs Sting ... this is an excellent match...but they don't get the Pay Per View buy rates because they only have a 1 hour time slot on Spike. They need to have a 2 hour time slot and move to a bigger network in order to succeed IMO.

BIG WRESTLING NEWS
*************MAJOR SPOILER ************
It has been confirmed that the Undertaker has suffered a complete tear to his biceps and will be out of action for the rest of the year. WWE announced Tuesday night at the SmackDown tapings in Birmingham, Alabama that the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion will face Batista on next week’s edition of SmackDown in a cage match.
In all likelihood Undertaker will drop the belt despite the original plan to give him a substantial run with the title. Obviously due to injury that is now impossible. The two most obvious candidates to replace Undertaker as champion are Batista, who is in next week’s match, and Mr. Kennedy who has the Money in the Bank title shot that he won at WrestleMania.
While the outcome of next week’s title match on SmackDown has yet to be confirmed, expect Undertaker to drop the belt due to the severity of his injury.

Anyway, I like Kennedy, but if he did get the belt this soon it'd feel weird. This friday he loses to Matt Hardy . Since before Mania he's been tagging against Batista/Taker time after time after time. Also, Smackdown really doesn't have anyone he could fued against - you know, size wise. They haven't pushed him as a "Benoit" who could beat anyone based on their skill. I mean, what's Smackdown going to main event PPVs with? Mr Kennedy vs Chavo Guerrero/Gregory Helms/Matt Hardy?
WWE seriously needs to draft people around.
Eh, screw that. WWE needs writers. Remember back when the Dudleys were in WWE and the draft seperated Bubba from DVon? Bubba was in the Title picture against HHH. Shit, there were moments when we were looking at "New World Champion Bubba Dudley". SOMEONE FOR THE LOVE OF BACON WRITE SOMETHING!

Yeah, I thought they were building up Benjamin as one of the top guys..then they gave him the IC belt...I thought he was earning his way up the ranks...but now he's stuck in a tag team with Haas again...basically losing to The Hardy's every second week.
I believe if Benjamin had stronger promo/microphone skills he would be one of the top 6 guys on RAW.

Point is, someone there can teach em how to promo. WWE needs to hire Chris Jericho just for that reason.

Looks like WWE decided to give up on its film division.
http://rajah.com/base/node/7796
They can try to improve numbers via DTV but maybe the sad truth is WWE just isnt as maintream as some in the company would like it to be and it hasnt been that way for about 7 years. The reason why the Rock's movies have been marginally successful is because he has for the most part distanced himself from the WWE. Also if the only thing WWE can do is make action movies where that market is increasingly weak, then it will suffer because action movies arent too big anymore money wise.
Sounds like they need to deal with it and move on.

DTV may be the answer
The reason why the Rock's movies have been marginally successful is because he has for the most part distanced himself from the WWE.
That, and because his initial success came from when WWE was riding a high wave of popularity. Everyone knew who the guys were. Even people who didn't watch WWE went to see Scorpion King to see what the hype was about. Then they got to see Rock do his thing and think, "Hey, it's not half bad."
Probably if Scorpion King came out now it'd face the same reaction.
I really think WWE should have put their guys in movies that they were producing - get the wrestlers in small cameo rolls; warm the crowd up to the idea of wrestlers.
I also think we need a Scorpion King 2.......

Say goodbye to the days of “slutty” WWE Divas, at least for now.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has adopted a new policy to present its female performers in a classier light.
While the Divas’ sex appeal will not be completely downplayed, the company will present women in a more professional light. An image consultant was hired to advise the women on how to “look classy and not come across as slutty on television,” the Observer said.
In addition to hiring new stylists, WWE provided the women with less revealing outfits.
The new policy is likely part of a plan to appeal to mainstream advertisers.

World Wrestling Entertainment have lost another main-event player to injury, and that is rising SmackDown star Mr Kennedy.
Over the weekend, Kennedy suffered a major tricep tear at a house show in Poughkeepsie, New York and will be out for an estimated 5-7 months. This was the reason he lost the Money in the Bank briefcase to Edge on RAW last night and why he was subsequently laid out.
It's likely that Kennedy may return as a babyface taking into consideration how he was laid out by one of WWE's top heels.
SMACKDOWN is in major trouble....they need some recruits from RAW..Undertaker and now Kennedy are hurt.

Well I just got back from a RAW house show...excellent and fun time. Ok...Mickie James has the best ass I ever saw in my life...:D
I also sat by the former promoter of BB King...interesting night.
The show opened with the ring announcer telling us everyone was really
excited to be here. Edge has moved to Smackdown so he won’t be here. Neither
will Ric Flair. No mention of Umaga who was originally booked for the main
event. In particular two guys had come up to him and said that they wanted
to get one of the fans to be their manager for the night. With that a kid in
the front row named William was helped over the guard rail and sent to the
back.
Match #1: Cryme Tyme (w/ William) versus The World’s Greatest Tag Team
The crowd was fairly hot for the opening match. Sheldon got a lot of heat
with a bunch of “Sheldon Sucks” chants throughout the match. Cryme Tyme win
with their finisher by pinfall and dance in the ring with the kid for a bit
before heading to the back.
Match #2: Kenny Dykstra versus Chuck Pulombo
Kenny comes out and cuts a promo about how he should be announced to the
crowd. Plays up his age and whatnot. Calls himself the “Italian stallion” as
apparently he’s Ľ Italian…
Chuck Pulombo comes out to no reaction. I don’t think anyone knew why he was
there or if they should be cheering him. The only reason why he got any pop
during the match was because he wasn’t Kenny. Either way he pulls out the
pinfall win with some type of finisher. Wasn’t impressive enough to take
notice.
Match #3: Val Venis versus Daniel Rodimer
Val Venis comes out to a surprisingly big pop. Not much reaction for Rodimer
initially but I think that may have been due to a lack of recognition. Match
started out okay but a lot of rest hold near the middle led to a few boring
chants. Rodimer hit some nice suplexes throughout the match and seemed to be
working fairly well. Venis wins by pinfall with the money shot.
Match #4: Mickie James versus Melina for the Women’s Championship
Good reaction for both ladies here both before and throughout the match.
This was actually a really great match with a lot of interesting submission
holds and near falls throughout. Interesting spot near the middle where
Mickie gets thrown out of the ring only to crawl under it while Melina show
boats. When Melina finally looks over to see where she is, Mickie pops up
from the other side of the ring and delivers a drop kick. Melina wins by
pinfall with her hands on the rope in what seemed like a botched rollup in
the corner. Mickie had her legs up and first so I assume Melina was supposed
to be on them but she ended up just sitting on her shoulders making the pin
a little less believable.
Match #5: Chris Masters versus Santino Marella for the IC Championship.
Masters out first and cuts a good promo about the fluke win Santino
“Mozzarella” got on him this past Raw. He says it won’t happen again and
that he is going to go ahead and announce himself as the new IC Champion.
Marella comes out to a bit of a reaction. Still a new face so I think the
younger crowd which probably only catches the weekend recap shows were a bit
confused. Nice match all in all though with most of the work being done by
Masters. Marella gets the pinfall by rollup after slipping out of Masters
arms before he could put on the Masterlock.
Intermission.
I went to get some food here but from what I could here there was a T-Shirt
toss hosted by Maria which eventually saw Eugene come to the ring. Nitro
cuts him off and makes his way down to the ring. He cuts a promo about
“freeloading” Canadians for some cheap heat. This eventually leads us into
our next match.
Match #6: Johnny Nitro versus Eugene
I was still at the concessions for this one. Didn’t hear much of a reaction
from the crowd though. From what I could gather, Nitro wins cleanly by
pinfall.
Match #7: The Hardys versus. Cade and Murdoch for the Tag Team Championship
Cade and Murdoch out first to decent heat. Hardys come out to a crazy huge
pop. A lot of energy through the crowd as this one was getting started.
Hardy chants go on for a few minutes with Matt and Jeff trying to pump up
the crowd. This upsets Cade and Murdoch who start to walk out. They come
back eventually though and after a few more minutes of chants the match gets
under way. Great work by everyone involved here. Hardys hit the usual spots.
Murdoch got some great heat too by playing off the crowd throughout the
match. At one point, after one of the Hardy’s went under the refs 5 count,
Murdoch gets on the mic and says that he’s here to play by the rules and
that the next time the ref tells the Hardys to break a hold they better do
it. The Hardy’s eventually pick up the pinfall win after a Twist of Fate
and Swanton Bomb combo.
Match #8: John Cena versus Randy Orton for the WWE Championship
Orton out first to a surprisingly positive reaction. He cuts a promo on how
he got screwed this past week on Raw by Khali. He says regardless of whether
Cena has the title with him tonight he will be champion. Cena comes out to a
big pop and we get under way. Good back and forth work from both men with
most of the match being dominated by Orton. A lot of work outside the ring
with Cena getting thrown into the guard rail twice and through the steps as
well. Orton manages to avoid the FU once but does end up with a Five Knuckle
Shuffle. The ref gets bumped and Cena locks in the STFU. Orton taps but
there’s nobody there to see it. Khali comes out with the title, gives Cena a
double handed choke slam and leaves. Everybody is down now, with the ref
getting up first. Orton rolls over on Cena and gets the two count. The match
ends as Orton goes for the RKO but gets pushed away by Cena who sets him up
for the FU. Cena hits it and gets the pinfall win.
Cena stays around for a bit and the lights come back on once he eventually
leaves.
All and all an entertaining show that was hindered by a lack of recognizable
talent. A good portion of the matches had at least one person that nobody
cared about (i.e. Pulombo). The matches were still entertaining though and
this minor gripe may simply be due to a weakening Raw brand.
Biggest Pops:
1) Cena
2) The Hardys (though very close to, and maybe even, #1)
3) Cryme Tyme (honestly, probably because they were the first people
out. Excitement for the show starting etc.)
Biggest Heat:
1) Cade and Murdoch (once the match got started)
2) Shelton Benjamin
3) Kenny Dykstra
Though heel heat was fairly consistent throughout the night. Mixed reaction
for Orton who actually had a fairly decent cheering secion. He actually got
a great reaction from the crown but it was so mixed that I don’t think he
could fall under either category.
Match of the night was probably Cena versus Orton, although the Hardy’s
versus Cade and Murdoch match probably had the most crowd reaction. Mickie
versus Melina probably saw the most effort put into their match. That is to
say that they put on as good of a match as they would for a pay-per-view
while Cena and Orton managed to put off a great match that was maybe a
little bit predictable without anything too special other then Khali coming
out.
Great time all and all and hopefully we’ll get Smackdown out this way soon.

Remember the new WWE Diva policy that we reported on last week? It appears as if the plans to institute the new doctrine have already been scrapped. While the company wanted to present the divas in a classier manner to gain more mainstream sponsorship, Kevin Dunn barked at Vince McMahon that the plan would never work and would destroy the upcoming Diva Search competition. Since the Diva Search is considered McMahon’s baby amongst his love for the divas, it appears as if we are not going to see the taming of the divas.
I knew this wouldn't last long

RVD is gone brother man...
From Impactwrestling.com
"Rob Van Dam's match with Snitsky on Tuesday could have very well been his last match ever in WWE. Wade Keller of the Pro Wrestling Torch is reporting that RVD is officially done with World Wrestling Entertainment as of last Wednesday. WWE felt that keeping RVD around and burying him on TV was not worth it and it was better to get him off TV as soon as possible.
His contract wasn't going to expire until late June at the earliest, but WWE officials cut that short because RVD said he would not re-sign with them and they had nothing for him until then. Despite the early release, RVD has a no-compete clause, and thus he can't show up in TNA next week for instance.
He is expected to sign with TNA after a long deserved summer break. If and when he joins TNA, it will probably be in September at the earliest. TNA is trying to land a two hour slot for the fall season on Spike, so if they end up getting it, they'll probably hold him off for the two hour show's debut.
More as we get it. Stay tuned"

I doubt Punk and Burk will be released. See Steph McMahon has a higher ranking job now and she has some say in who gets hired/fired. So it was her idea to fire these people. If she wants to fire Punk..Vince gotta put his foot down and say "Biatch...no way this is happening...do you even know anything about wrestling? I think Carlito should of beaten Flair...Carlito hasnt done anything of significance in over a year in wrestling. I thought they were going to give him a push...zzz
Punks match was 17 minutes...excellent effort by both parties.
The Lashley match lasted one minute lol...but he pinned Shane so he didnt win the title...at the next PPV One Night Stand its rumored to be Vince vs Lashley for the ECW title....I guess Lashely is going to win his title back then.

The FU is nothing like Hogan's leg drop. The FU is a suplex (fireman's carry then you tip your opponent towards the ground and slam him/her into the ground)
Hogan's leg drop... is a fucking leg drop... he'd bounce off the ropes, jump in the air and have the back of his knee smack his opponent's face.
The two are clearly not similar. Clearly.

A few tidbits of wrestling info
# At last night’s SmackDown tapings in Des Moines, Iowa it was announced that Edge will take on Batista for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WWE’s One Night Stand pay-per-view on June 3rd. The “extreme stipulation” has not yet been announced.
# We have official word that “The Heart Break Kid” Shawn Michaels will undergo his knee surgery before the end of this week. As reported Monday here on LordsOfPain.net, WWE is estimating Michaels will be back in time for Survivor Series.
# Former WWE manager Paul Bearer and former superstar Rikishi will be working the June 16th MWF show at the Veterans Memorial Ice Rank. This is also the same show Andrew “Test” Martin will be working.
Khali’s new manager/translator is actually WWE creative team member Dave Kapoor. The on-air name Ranjun Singh is an inside joke at Dr. Ranjan Chhibber, who before quitting the WWE creative team used to be hated by Stephanie McMahon and constantly made fun of by Michael Hayes for always taking Paul Heyman’s side. Eric Bischoff was considered for the roll but he turned it down.

Hulk Hogan was in Japan to promote Brooke's CD "Undiscovered". During a press conference in Japan, more than 100 reporters asked questions of Hulk Hogan and Antonio Inoki. Hogan said that he has decided against working for TNA.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, TNA sources claim Hogan has been in talks with the company for several weeks. Hulk Hogan said he would never go back to WWE, as he claims that Vince McMahon told him he couldn't afford to pay him his main event money.
Hogan also expressed an interest in wrestling for Inoki's new IGF promotion. At the press conference Inoki said IGF is talking to Lyoto Machida, Tadao Yasuda, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar and Paul "The Big Show" Wight.
Interesting to see if that promotion can get the big names they are going after. I would watch it.

some wrestling info :
- TNA and Christain Cage have come to terms on a new multi-year contract
-The three-hour RAW special on June 11th will be a major event. WWE asked the USA Network for the timeslot and will require all superstars on the entire roster be at the event.
This is why the SmackDown house show in Ocean City, Maryland was canceled yesterday. The special will be titled “Night of Champions” with each match being a championship bout.
- John Cena will be making a rare indy appearance for Chaotic Wrestling. The press release is below.
WWE® SUPERSTARS JOHN CENA® AND EUGENE® TO MAKE SPECIAL APPEARANCE AT TRITON REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN BYFIELD, MA ON MAY 25TH, 2007
-Shawn Michaels underwent knee surgery yesterday afternoon. Recovering from the surgery, the Heart Break Kid will be unable to put any weight on the knee for one to two months. Rehabilitation will begin after that so it is possible that he could return late this summer, although that is if everything goes as good as possible.
Michaels has been working through knee problems for well over a year when it became too much to handle when he landed awkwardly at ringside during a commercial break two weeks ago on RAW. He still tried working through the pain, but it reached a point where he had to break down and have the surgery. The good news is, once he is fully rehabilitated, his knee will be stronger and he will be in a lot less pain.

The draft will be somewhat a breath of fresh air, but i don't think it will do much in making Raw, Smackdown, or Ecw better. IC title will most likely go to smackdown and the U.S. will go to Raw.
I would like to see CM Punk go to Raw or even Smackdown, but if what I hear is true and Sabu is gone from EcW and RVD seems to be on the way out, They might have to put the brand on Punk, cause Bobby Lashley isn't really someone you want to build a Brand on.
The draft always sounds like a good idea, but they always go off and trade guys like Eugene. Why? That's dumb.
BUT - hopefully they will draft guys that could be higher-tier (Marcus, Val, etc) and give them all a nice push to get believable storylines again.
For some reason I'm thinking they will split The Hardys up and Cade and Murdoch up.
Then on Raw it will be Matt and Murdoch, and on Smackdown Jeff and Cade. Something like that. All in all, I'm diggin face tag team Cade and Murdoch.

Decided to give it a shot and watch some of that. I'll make sure never to do that again while they still have the same writing crew they got now.

I think this match took place during the half time show at the Super bowl one year, they aired it live on tv.

Some wrestling info:
Edge has been told he will have a long reign as World Heavyweight champion.
Sources say that while Christian Cage has signed a new multi-year deal with TNA (said to be 2 years), Team 3-D is more likely than not to finish their careers in WWE. They are not rushing back to WWE just yet given they just opened their wrestling school last week, but Devon and Bubba Ray are certainly for it. TNAWrestlingNews.com is reporting that Devon is really pushing for the team to return even if he has to go as a singles wrestler for a short while.
WWE knew they had issues with the rosters so they decided to do the draft lottery to mix things up a bit. The feeling was even though the could mix and match with the new liberal usage of talent, it made more sense to put a focused effort into mixing up the brands and put some new storylines on the table via the lottery. It was an idea that came out of the recent injury wave. The USA Network was more than happy to give them the extra hour on June 11 for the draft because Raw gets good, if not great ratings. Now, the hope is that they use this as a positive to spice the brands up a bit.
