WWE RAW RESULTS

* Mickie James & Kelly Kelly def. Women's Champion Beth Phoenix & Victoria
* Mr. Kennedy def. Super Crazy
* Carlito & Santino Marella def. Paul London & Brian Kendrick
* World Tag Team Champions Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes def. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch
* Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho & Shawn Michaels def. Umaga, JBL and Snitsky
* John Cena vs. Mark Henry Arm Wrestling Match (no contest)

The 6 man tag team match was fun to watch. I enjoyed this RAW. HHH was a no show because of "family reasons"

Vince was soooo funny with the ass buffer and ass cream. That cracked me up. Vince is my favorite WWE "character" now. He always manages to entertain.

***********Smackdown SPOILERS************

Credit: WrestlingNewsWorld.com

This week's edition of Friday Night SmackDown was taped at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. Below is a complete spoiler report:

After they changed the ring apron from ECW to SmackDown, announcers Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman come to ringside to fill their announcer positions.

The show opens with Batista coming to ringside. They do not fire the pyros for his entrance. Batista has an interview with Michael Cole about the SmackDown/ECW Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out.

MVP comes out next followed by Big Daddy V, The Great Khali, and Finlay. The lights go out in the arena and The Undertaker appears in the ring. Everyone retreats from the ring once The Undertaker enters. Undertaker lets his opponents know that he is in it, to win it.

Shelton Benjamin defeated Kane via count out.

Chuck Palumbo defeated Jamie Noble via pinfall.
Palumbo came out on his motorcycle. After the match Palumbo beat up Noble pretty bad.

Jesse & Festus defeat Deuce & Domino via pinfall.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Edge comes out to ringside for his "Cutting Edge" segment. Vickie Guerrero his is guest. Rey Mysterio comes out to interrupt. Vickie demands that Rey apologize for the "injuries" that he caused her at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. She smacks him twice.

Edge loses his temper and attacks Mysterio. He grabs a chair to further the attack. Rey blocks the chair shot and connects with a 619. Mysterio apologizes to Vickie Guerrero.

The main event is announced as Batista, Finlay, & Undertaker vs. Big Daddy V, The Great Khali, & MVP.

Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins defeat Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore.

Big Daddy V, The Great Khali, & MVP defeat Batista, Finlay, and Undertaker via Disqualification.
This match got a lot of time. Finlay scored the DQ for his team when he hit The Great Khali with his Shillelagh. Undertaker ended up chokeslamming Finlay and eventually Hornswoggle (who somehow got to ringside).

After the match, Undertaker delivers a Tombstone Piledriver to Jonathan Coachman. Batista comes out to assist Coachman, but ends up giving him a Spear. Finlay and Hornswoggle come back out, Hornswoggle hits the tadpole splash.

- One source of Bobby Lashley's discontention with WWE had to do with his payoff from WrestleMania 23. He received $250,000 for his efforts in his heavily-hyped match with Umaga. Lashley was said to be furious with the payoff, and he complained about it. Considering that he was the winner of the biggest-drawing match in WrestleMania history, he believes that was entitled to more. Also, even though he was injured for nearly half the year, several sources have indicated that Lashley earned somewhere in the neighborhood of $1 million in 2007, and that's without being much of a merchandise draw.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Lesnar got $250,000 for his first UFC match. Lashley was lucky to get this amount of $ considering he was "new" to the business.

i got a feeling with two elimination chambers and the fact they still booked a full card that the chamber matches will be very very short and less exciting. usually its the main event but they have two of them also two main title matches. i expect the time will be faster for entrees and ppl well be eliminated quickly and its gonna be less "violent".

RAW Results:

* Hornswoggle def. Mr. McMahon
* Chris Jericho def. JBL
* Paul Burchill def. Brian Kendrick
* John Cena def. Mark Henry
* Melina def. Maria
* Jeff Hardy def. Shawn Michaels

Decent RAW, Paul Burchill's "sister" looks like Lita imo, John Cena still sucks, no show by HHH sucked too...BUT the main event was amazing. Hardy got the clean win over HBK! It's nice to see Hardy continue to get the push he deserves. I would love to see him win the elimination chamber match this sunday and go to Wrestlemania.

Overall this RAW 7/10 (Would of been a 6 but Hardy's clean win surprised me)

Next week on RAW Vince and Hornswoggle will be having a steel cage match and Maria will have to choose between Santino or posing for Playboy. (Well in reality she did the photo shoot last month...so I wonder what her choice is going to be?:D)

Ill post a few predictions for this Sunday's PPV "No Way Out" It should be a fun PPV. Feel free to post some predictions of your own.

Some wrestling news:

- WWE's contract with NBC Universal gives the NBC Universal family of networks exclusivity of WWE programming on cable. There has been talk about WWE moving Smackdown to MyNetwork TV. For the season, the network averages a 0.74 broadcast rating in prime time nationally, and 1.09 million viewers. With WWE leaving CW, there has been discussion that if Smackdown ends up on MyNetworkTV, the show could move to a more desirable Tuesday or Thursday night time slot. As posted above, WWE receives $700,000 weekly from the CW Network to broadcast Friday Night Smackdown. MyNetworkTV, which is barely considered a network, only paid IFL $50,000 per first run episode and $20,000 per repeat airing last year. WWE's weekly production cost to tape an episode of Smackdown is about $630,000.

- TNA has announced more matches for next week's iMPACT in addition to the Love vs. Kong match. Kurt Angle vs. Kevin Nash, Eric Young vs. James Storm in a ladder match for the World Drinking Championship, Angelina Love vs. Awesome Kong and Booker T issuing a challenge to Robert Roode are now confirmed for next week's show. ( sounds good to me )

- WWE Superstar Nunzio was also at the TNA show in New York City with Tommy Dreamer last night. Nunzio and Dreamer sat in the crowd, and Bubba Dudley pointed them out, to a pop from the crowd, in Team 3D's match with LAX. Dreamer and Nunzio were sitting up in the balcony area of the building. ( Interesting )

****Spoilers:**** WWE SmackDown Tapings for Friday Night

Credit: Richard Gray and WNW

- Below are this Friday night's SmackDown tapings. The following dark match took place before ECW aired last night in Tucson. Below the dark match are the taping results for this week’s edition of SmackDown.

Show Notes:

According to one our correspondents, everyone was searched entering the building.

The event is said to be sold out.

Dark Match:

Vladimir Kozlov defeated a local guy billed from Tucson, Arizona via pinfall.

Off-Air ECW Notes:

After ECW went off the air ECW Champion Chavo Guerrero slapped CM Punk. Punk laid him out with a kick and rose up the ECW Championship to the roar of the crowd. Chavo finally got up and told the live crowd that he is “happy” he is receiving all of the love from the raza as the majority Mexican crowd is said to be booing him.

Pre-SmackDown:

Jonathan Coachman and Michael Cole come out to Coachman’s music. There is a lot of heat on Coachman.

WWE SmackDown (Air Date 2/29):

The show starts with no pyro, there are two local jobbers (referred to as nobodies) already in the ring. The Big Show’s music hits as he gets a pop from the crowd. A total squash match occurs with Big Show winning after hitting one of the local guys (referred to as a Hacksaw Jim Duggan lookalike) in the face.

After the squash match, Big Show gets on the mic and says that there is a rumor that Floyd Mayweather is going to face Oscar De La Hoya in September. He says that rumor is false because he is going to crush Mayweather at WrestleMania XXIV.

Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore defeated Deuce & Domino via pinfall.
Cherry came out with Deuce & Domino. Jimmy made the pin after a second moonsault from the top rope.

There is a backstage vignette with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Edge and Vickie Guerrero. They talk about leaving the United States and moving to Canada. They go to make out but Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins interrupt and say that Edge has to take care of Undertaker. Edge tells Zack that it is his job to do tonight to Zack’s disarray.

Chuck Palumbo defeated Jamie Noble via pinfall.
Michelle McCool accompanied Noble to the ring. The match was back and forth but Palumbo hit the Overdrive to collect the victory. Sporadic “Chuck” chants are heard amongst some in attendance.

Maryse is backstage with Vickie Guerrero. Batista walks in and asks her if he can represent SmackDown in the match for brand superiority at WrestleMania. After Maryse whispers something in her ear, Vickie says yes. Therefore it’s Umaga vs. Batista in a Raw vs. SmackDown match for WrestleMania.

Undertaker vs. Zack Ryder is announced for later in the night.

Batista & Kane defeated MVP & The Great Khali via pinfall.
Lots of tag team action between the four competitors. At one point Batista gives a pretty stiff beating to MVP. MVP finally is able to get the tag and eventually The Great Khali gets the best of Batista. Once Khali re-establishes control, he tags back in MVP. Batista is finally able to tag Kane in but Khali & MVP are said to be dominating. The action continues to go back and forth but it ends up being between The Great Khali and Batista. Batista hit the spear and was able to get the victory.

Eve Torres comes to the ring and hypes the upcoming WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. They run the Peter Maivia/Rocky Johnson piece that ran on Raw.

Jesse & Festus defeat The Miz & John Morrison via pinfall.
Before the match The Miz and Morrison showed the dirt sheet making fun of Jesse and Festus. This is a non-title match. Festus is able to hit his finisher on Morrison with The Miz on the outside. Festus is able to pin Morrison. After the match, Miz and Morrison argue in the ring.

Big Daddy V defeats Ball Mahoney in a squash match.
Matt Striker came to the ring with Big Daddy V for the squash.

After the match, The Undertaker comes out and takes out Big Daddy V. He chokeslams Balls. He then calls out World Heavyweight Champion Edge and tells him to bring out his minion to his yard and that they’ll both rest in peace. One of our correspondent notes that they may make it appear as if Undertaker came out of nowhere because Undertaker walked down the ramp with smoke and flames going.

The Undertaker defeats Zack Ryder via submission.
The match starts with The Undertaker completely dominating the match. He goes for a chokeslam on Ryder but Curt Hawkins (who came out with Ryder) distracts the referee. Ryder hits a low blow on Undertaker. The blow is not enough as Undertaker is able to regain control and win the match by making Ryder tap, presumably in the triangle choke. Edge hits the ring with Ryder and Hawkins as they try to beat on Undertaker. Undertaker takes care of Ryder and Hawkins with two chokeslams and a double triangle choke, Edge retreats to the outside. Kane and Batista come out and throw Edge back into the ring to Undertaker. Undertaker takes out Edge and holds the World Heavyweight Championship above his head as the show goes off the air. One of our correspondents noted that Hawkins was busted open and Undertaker apparently licked his blood.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Umaga and Batista at Wrestlemania sounds good. I would love to see Umaga kick his ass. Sounds like a good Smackdown with lots of matches.

WWE sent out the following press release today.

World Wrestling Entertainment® Makes Multi-Year Commitment to Make-A-Wish Foundation® for Granting Kids' Wishes

Partnership Starts with 50 Wishes on "The Road to WrestleMania® XXIV" and Award to John Cena for Granting His 100th Wish

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. is strengthening its 20-year dedication to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America and granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions with a new multi-year agreement announced Tuesday during a joint press conference at US Airways Center.

The partnership's first act under the new sponsorship commitment will be to hold the WWE®'s biggest wish-granting event ever at WrestleMania XXIV on March 30 in Orlando, Fla.

WWE and the Make-A-Wish Foundation will grant the wishes of more than 50 children during the course of the next five weeks, culminating in a star-filled experience hosted by WWE in Orlando during the weekend of WrestleMania XXIV. The children will meet their favorite WWE Superstars while participating in a weekend full of activities, including at Universal Orlando® Resort, being officially inducted into the WWE Make-A-Wish "Circle of Champions" at the annual Bacon, Bagels and Biceps brunch sponsored by the David Mauss Foundation, which will make a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida, and attending WrestleMania.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation also recognized WWE Superstar John Cena with an award to celebrate his 100th wish granted to a Make-A-Wish® child. Modern-day superstars such as Cena and Rey Mysterio now carry the torch for WWE in its wish granting, following in the bighearted footsteps of past WWE Superstars such as Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock.

WWE long has been one of the Make-A-Wish Foundation's most enthusiastic wish granters, fulfilling hundreds of wishes in the past 20 years. In 2004, the Foundation paid tribute to WWE with its Chris Greicius Celebrity Award, which recognizes organizations and individuals from the entertainment and sports worlds for their inspirational wish-granting activities. Jesse Ventura (1991), Hogan (1994), Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (2000) and WWE executive Sue Aitchison (2006) also have received the Chris Greicius Celebrity Award.

"WWE has been creating incredible wish experiences and providing in-kind support to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the past two decades, and we're honored to bring our relationship to a new level through this generous donation," said David Williams, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America president and chief executive officer. "We're also delighted to join with WWE to grant 50 kids' wishes on the road to WrestleMania. It symbolizes the Foundation's devotion to making wishes happen for children with life-threatening medical conditions in all 50 states."

"For more than 20 years, WWE has had the honor to work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant wishes to children, and now we're taking that relationship to a new level," said Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman. "There's no better stage than WrestleMania to hold the WWE's biggest wish event ever with the world's pre-eminent children's wish-granting organization."

Former WWE champion John Cena recently lashed out at Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in a recent interview with The Sun in the United Kingdom. Cena was quoted as saying the following:

"He is a genuinely nice guy and a fantastic human being. What I kind of get peeved about, and this is my Achilles heel, is that I've wanted to do this my whole life. Rock falls into that category. At one point he loved wrestling and wanted to do this all his life. So explain to me why he can't come back. Simply put it's because he wants to be an actor and there's nothing wrong with that. He's very good and very successful. Associating with sports entertainment doesn't do much for his acting career. I get it. Just don't f*** me around and tell me that you love this. That's the only thing that gets me really p***ed off. Our fan base have so much admiration for him, he's got to respect that. He doesn't give anything back."

I don't like Cena, but I definitely agree with his comments about The Rock. The Rock pretty much turned his back on all his fans by not making any appearances on WWE TV after he left to start his acting career. Would it really hurt for him to come back every now and then and give a little back to all the fans that made him popular in the first place? I mean damn, he wouldn't even come back for the RAW 15th anniversary show.

Jake Roberts is one of the names that's heavily favored to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame next month. Apparently he will be given a temporary release from his rehab treatment to attend the award show.

There are also rumblings that Scott Hall, who is in the same treatment facility as Roberts, might also attend the ceremony.

Roberts is one of the only wrestlers who openly and publicly accepted WWE's rehab offer, and even sent out a thank you letter to Vince. We don't have an update on Roberts' condition, but Scott Hall is said to be doing exceptionally well and looks forward to mending broken business relationships when he completes his treatment.

I would love to see Jake The Snake be inducted.

Scott Hall should stay away from actively wrestling imo, lately he's been too unreliable. No showing many wrestling events including one of TNA's PPV's where he was scheduled in the main event.

As a kid I loved Savage... I guess because he was good at getting the crowd going and the outfits didn't hurt but from what I seen in interviews and other behind-the-scenes shit; he's a dick. Fucking-A-Hole.

Jake the Snake being inducted would be a real treat.

He didnt need the belt to get over with the crowd. He was a good face in the mold of a pre Austin type and his heel persona was one of the best of all time.

Good choice.

- CM Punk vs. Chavo Guerrero in an ECW Extreme Rules match for the ECW Championship is being considered for WrestleMania 24.

- The favorites to get the three remaining spots in the Money in the Bank Ladder match at WrestleMania 24 are Kane, Elijah Burke and The Great Khali, believe it or not.

- The current plan has Big Show losing to Floyd Mayweather in their match at WrestleMania 24. Obviously, he will go on to get the push that he wants on the SmackDown brand, eventually getting the World Heavyweight Title.

RAW PREVIEW FOR THIS MONDAY

The Bradley Center in Milwaukee will be rocking with three solid hours of action as Raw airs a special “WrestleMania Rewind Night” extravaganza.

Superstars from Raw, SmackDown and ECW will battle in rematches from past WrestleMania spectaculars, giving competitors the chance to rewrite – or relive – history. Video Preview ...

During this special Raw event, Floyd “Money” Mayweather and Big Show will meet in an official WrestleMania weigh-in for their titanic matchup in Orlando, Fla. Will sparks fly as The Greatest Fighter in the World will once again be in the same ring with the gargantuan former World Champion before their one-on-one contest at WrestleMania XXIV?

John Cena made the matches last week on Raw, and got an RKO for his efforts. Now, as seen exclusively first on WWE Mobile on AT&T, Raw GM William Regal tapped Orton to be in charge in next week's Triple Threat Takeover on Raw. What will the WWE Champion have in store for his two WrestleMania opponents?

Shawn Michaels told Ric Flair he didn’t want to be the man to end the legendary 35-year career of the Nature Boy. Will HBK reconsider and recommit to facing his friend on sports-entertainment’s grandest stage?

Last week, Finlay ended all the speculation about Hornswoggle and Mr. McMahon, telling the world he was behind the ruse that portrayed the leprechaun as the billionaire’s bastard son and admitting that he was the real father. JBL then challenged the Belfast Brawler to a match at WrestleMania, as he further tortured Hornswoggle in his hospital bed. Bet on the Irish coming out ready to fight next Monday if Finlay crosses paths with the self-made millionaire.

What other surprises will be in store? Tune in live this Monday at a special time – 8/7 CT – on USA Network for three action-packed hours of “WrestleMania Rewind Night” on Raw.

The brawl that occurred at the end of the Big Show, Floyd Mayweather weigh in segment on Raw last night, erupted in to a full blown shoot according to several sources.

The scheduled fight between wrestlers and the boxing crew went sour when Mayweather's boys went into business for themselves and tried to legitimately show their toughness to the wrestlers.

Although camera shots were poor, the WWE stars gave back to the posse and one wrestler commented "they got their asses handed to them." The company was said to be 10 seconds from a legitimate breakdown happening on live TV.

Shane McMahon even got knocked down in the commotion, which caused some tension backstage.

Although it was basically a shoot, nobody is holding grudges and it was reportedly all a spirit of the moment thing.

Sucks for Hardy. I'm sure he was most likely scheduled to win the MITB at WM24 and probably have a world title run by the end of 2008. Now it will probably never happen since I doubt the WWE will give him another push when he returns. Oh well it's his own fault, he shouldn't have been so stupid.

**** Full WWE SmackDown Taping Results *Spoilers*****

Dark Match:

Shelton Benjamin d. Chris Harris
Chris Harris made his WWE debut in a dark match against Benjamin. Benjamin hit his code breaker type maneuver to score the pinfall victory. There were some TNA chants in the crowd.

Pre-Show Notes:

- We are told that they accidentally turned the ring over while changing out the ECW stuff for SmackDown's setup. Tony Chimel and referees were said to be responsible. I was told it was hilarious.

- There are two rows of tires in the center of the ring.

- We are told that there is something that looks like potato sacks at ringside. Jonathan Coachman and Michael Cole are now at their positions ringside.

WWE SmackDown (Air date 3/14):
The Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois

The show opens with the Divas Swimsuit competition. Eve Torres, Cherry, Maryse, Victoria, and Michelle McCool are all featured. Maryse is voted off by the fans through their text messages.

Michelle McCool wins an obstacle course with the remaining WWE divas. The obstacle course was said to be extremely dumb as the divas had to run through the tires in the ring, complete a potato sack race, and jump a small wall.

A Ric Flair/Shawn Michaels promo airs.

WWE shows a promo for tonight's match between Batista and MVP for the U.S. Championship in a no holds barred match.

(1) Big Show d. Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore in a handicap match. Big Show pinned Shannon Moore. After the match Big Show tossed Wang out of the ring.

It is announced that WWE Tag Team Champions John Morrison and The Miz will face off against one another in a WrestleMania Money in the Bank ladder match qualifier.

(2) John Morrison d. The Miz in a Money in the Bank ladder qualifying match for WrestleMania. I was told the crowd was not too involved during the match. It should also be noted that Jeff Hardy's picture was removed from the MITB graphic.

(3) United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter d. Batisa in a No Holds Barred match to retain the title. This match was given significant amount of time. There was a lot of chairs used throughout and several near falls. MVP was able to get the pin after Umaga came out and hit Batista with a Samoan Spike.

(4) Chuck Palumbo & The Great Khali d. Kane & Jamie Noble
Khali pinned Noble after a chokeslam to get the win for him and Palumbo.

(5) Edge, Zack Ryder, urt Hawkins, & Chavo Guerrero d. Ric Flair & Shawn Michaels in a steel cage match. Flair gets a monster pop from the live Chicago crowd. Vickie Guerrero comes out and says that ECW Champion Chavo Guerrero will join Edge, Ryder, and Hawkins and the match will be 4-on-2. Michaels got caught in the rope for several minutes as all six men are in the cage. Flair is busted open early in the match. Michaels and Flair both locked Figure Four leglocks on Edge and CM Punk at the same time, which I was told was a very cool spot. Eventually the lights went out and the Undertaker appeared. He cleans up but Edge is able to escape for the win. Undertaker points up to the WrestleMania sign.

Vickie Guerrero re-appears and says now it's Big Show vs. Undertaker. This could be a dark match forthcoming.

(6) Undertaker d. World Heavyweight Champion Edge. It started as Big Show vs. Undertaker. Big Show was dominating early but left the ring when Edge came out and instructed Big Show to leave. Undertaker ended up hitting a Tombstone on Edge to get the victory.

In an interesting note, Hollywood heavyweight Jack Nicholson stated in a 2006 media interview that he would like to someday induct Ric Flair into the WWE Hall of Fame. Nicholson is a huge professional wrestling fan, with his all-time favorites being Flair, John Cena and Harley Race. This is nothing confirmed and I can't even say that it has been discussed within WWE, but I could see WWE going for a high profile celebrity like Nicholson to induct Flair into the Hall. Inside the business, I could see Arn Anderson, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat or even Triple H doing the honors.

TNA House Show Results – Pikeville, KY: 3.14.08

I attended a TNA house show last night in Pikeville, KY at the East Kentucky Expo Center. Pretty good crowd, I would say that there was around 5,000 there. Smackdown held a card here a couple of years ago and filled the place full with around 7,000. This crowd was a little smaller, but just as vocal.

- Jeremy Borash came out and got the crowd worked up, encouraging everyone to really make some noise. He said that they would keep an eye out for the most vocal fans tonight and some would be randomly chosen to come backstage and meet all the wrestlers. Suffice to say, I wasn't one of the lucky ones. He then introduced the referee for the evening, Earl Hebner, who was greeted with quite a few boos.

- The first match saw The Motor City Machineguns defeating Sonjay Dutt and Petey Williams. The crowd initially cheered both teams until Williams and Dutt started bending the rules. The Machineguns got the win after Williams accidentally threw powder in Dutt's eyes, costing them the match.

- Next was Awesome Kong defeating ODB after a powerbomb. The crowd was really into this match. ODB was way over with the fans.

- Next was more tag team action, as LAX defeated The Rock and Rave Infection. No Christy Hemme tonight. The LAX looked great out there and the crowd just loved them. A lot of high spots from LAX as they picked up a dominating victory.

- Then was without a doubt the match of the night. Rhino defeated Robert Roode in a street fight. Roode subbed for James Storm, who was wheeled out in a hospital bed by Johnny Devine and Jackie Moore. Storm claimed he was thrown 20 stories off of Elevation X by Rhino and would be unable to compete, but that his friend Robert Roode would take his spot. Roode and Rhino proceeded to brawl all over the arena, including just a few feet from me in the lower arena seating. Rhino picked up the win after goring Roode through a table.

- Next was intermission. Borash said that they might be bringing a PPV to Pikeville soon. Sonjay Dutt came back out and started to run down the area and the fans. Shark Boy then came out, nailed Dutt with the stunner, and did his other Stone Cold routines, much to the delight of the younger fans. I swear that every little kid in the arena must have had a Shark Boy shirt. They must have sold a ton of them.

- The next match saw Jay Lethal retaining his X Division title, defeating AJ Styles after reversing a rollup. The fans were split on these two, some cheering Black Machismo and some rooting for Styles. I believe some of the fans were not that familiar with TNA and were not sure who was the face and who was the heel.

- The main event saw Kurt Angle retaining his TNA title beating Samoa Joe. Joe nailed Angle with the Muscle Buster and appeared to have the match won when AJ Styles ran down and pulled the referee out of the ring. Angle recovered, low blowed Joe and hit the Angle Slam for the win. Once again the crowd was divided as to who they were cheering for.

- After the show, all the wrestlers came back out for photos and autographs with fans. I enjoyed this night of wrestling more than I did Smackdown a couple of years ago. All the wrestlers brought their A games and put on a great show.

I read this alittle while ago:

In ROH Punk faced off against ROH World Champion Samoa Joe for the championship in a three match series. The first match, on June 12, 2004 at World Title Classic in Dayton, Ohio, resulted in a 60 minute time-limit draw when neither Punk nor Joe could pin or cause the other to submit in the sixty minutes. The second match between Samoa Joe and CM Punk was planned to have occurred on December 4, 2004. However, because Steve Corino was pulled from a match with Samoa Joe by Pro Wrestling ZERO-ONE the second match was hastily rescheduled on October 11, 2004 for October 16 in Punk's hometown of Chicago, Illinois.[11] At Joe vs. Punk II on October 16 they wrestled to a second 60 minute draw. In addition to becoming Ring of Honor's best selling DVD at that point, the match received the first 5-star rating by Dave Meltzer's Wrestling Observer Newsletter for a match in North America since 1997.[11] Joe ended the series by defeating Punk in the third and final match on December 4, 2004 at All-Star Extravaganza 2 in which there was a no time limit stipulation.

-----------------------------------------------------

Two 60 minute draws. Excellent stuff. Reminds me of the old Flair matches in the NWA in the 80's. ROH is the way pure wrestling is supposed to be.

For the life of me I can't understand why John Cena is so popular. If he wasn't marketable he's never wrestle because he's not a great wrestler. I hope he doesn't win the belt at Mania... my money's on HHH. And for my other thought on Mania... I hope Taker gets the belt but I do think he's too old and can't put off a match like he used so perhaps they won't give him the belt. On the other hand they can't have him lose at Mania... that would be heart breaking for Taker fans alike.

Undertaker will definitely win. That's a given since I seriously doubt they will ever make him lose his WrestleMania undefeated status. A lot of people would be pissed if they do, since I and many others want Undertaker being undefeated at WrestleMania to always be part of his legacy. As for the triple-threat match, I'm guessing Triple H will win it. At least I hope so since I hate both Orton and Cena.

Mania was good and bad, with a little in between.

Finley vs JBL - **3/4 stars. It was a good brawl, but it was way to short.

Money in the Bank Match - ***1/2 stars. Aside from a few slip ups (High risk aint always gonna be perfect) this match was a damn fun spot fest. Hardy returned and was shocked and Punk won so everyone's happy.

Batista vs Umaga - * Star. Damn this was a let down, I was looking forward to it. If they start up the fued later, they need a gimmic to help out.

Kane vs Chavo - No Star. This wasn't even a match. Kane came in from the crowd and behind, chockslame and win. I marked out yes, but then later saw that Chavo is now a bitch for being squashed.

HBK vs Flair - ***** Stars. This match was awesome, and HBK not wanting to beat Flair nowing it would end his career worked great. Awesome way for Rick Flair to leave wrestling.

Bunnymania - 1/2* Star. Fuck WWE's woman's wrestling.

Cena vs HHH vs Orton - ***3/4 Stars. This shocked me as they put on a never slow down action packed match and the persion NO ONE thought would win won.

Mayweather vs Show - **1/4 Stars. Honestly, this wasn't as bad as it could of been. That being Said, SHow once again takes the fall and the guy who was the good guy defending Rey Mysterio is suddenly the heel who need's his trainers for help.

Undertaker vs Edge - ****1/2 Stars. This was an action packed match, with many thinking that Edge might just beat Taker. And even though Edge lost, he took Taker to the limit in a way that makes losing still has you look good.

All in all I'd give the show 6 3/4 out of 10. It wasn't no Wrestlmania 17, but it wasn't Wrestlmania 22 either, or Wrestlmania 9 for that matter. So now Taker is World Champ, Kane is ECW Champ, Orton is still WWE champ and CM Punk can wrestle any of them untill Houstin April 5th next year (WMXV), it's gonna be a interesting year now.

The Chavo/Kane "fight" pissed me off... what the hell was up with that? Why even take the time to put the match in there if that's all it was gonna be? Makes me wonder if one of them had an injury or something that prevented a full-scale match.

... and Mayweather did a good job making himself look like a bitch... Technically Show lost, but ultimately Mayweathier was the loser... All Big Show has to say is, "Try beating me without your friends, chairs and brass knucks to help you... oh yeah, you did try... and you got your ass handed to you... punk."

Undertaker won, which made me happy, but I gotta say Edge really took the fight to him... kudos all around on that match.

The money in the bank match was fun.... kinda made me nostalgic for a good ol' fashioned Hardy/Edge&Christian/Dudley TLC match though...

All in all, I enjoyed the show... A buddy and I split the cost, so the price didn't sting too bad.

My biggest issue was that I haven't been keeping up with wrestling for a long time now, and I didn't have much of a clue about the current story-arcs and rivalries... kinda fucks things.

I don't keep up with it as much these days either. I used to be a huge fan back during the Attitude era, I never missed an episode of RAW back then. These days I only watch it on and off. The good thing about wrestling though is the storylines are usually simple enough so that you can just jump into an episode of RAW at anytime even after missing it for many weeks and it doesn't take that long to see what's going on. That's pretty much what I do these days, if it happens to be a Monday night and I'm in the mood for some entertainment that doesn't require me to think too hard I turn on the WWE. :D

One of the better Manias in recent years.

Anyone who completely shits all over this is a major tool.

Only matches that sucked were the Bunnymania and Batista/Umaga. The ECW championship was wierd but it gives one person a chance to have a title run long overdue.

I think alot of people enjoyed mania but all the little wormy smarks are just pulling their usual crybaby stuff because they all bitched and moaned that Cena or HHH would win. Yet when WWE pulls a big swerve, they cry foul.

Matt Hardy coming back was also a nice touch. I dont know what more people want from a ladder match either. Unless its a TLC format match, its going to be a nightmare with 7 people. People cant have it both ways.

WWE outsmarted alot of people for the most part Sunday night which leaves smarks with a bitter taste in their mouths.

Yeah I was surprised, he looked awesome though, I loved it.

Wrestlemania this year was entertaining but not the best.

Match of the Night - HBK and The Nature Boy....my eyes filled up with tears when Michaels said " Im sorry...I love you " Classic moment in wrestling history right there. I'm going to miss The Nature Boy. Taker and Edge was a close runner up for best match. I loved how The Taker won by submission.

Surprise of the night - Orton retaining the WWE title. I was like wtf! when he won. I expected HHH to win becasue Cena is currently filming a movie. Looks like they are going to continue to build up Orton...I like it.

It was nice to see Mayweather put some effort into his match with The Big Show. Mayweather took some hard bumps. It was very entertaining. But everyone knew Mayweather was going to win somehow.

It was also nice to see CM Punk win the $ in the bank match. I hope he doesn't waste it and cash it in for the ECW title.

Batista and Umaga ...zzzzzz The match was only 7 minutes and was boring as hell. They made this match because they didnt have a story line for these 2 wrestlers and they are too high up there to be in the $ in the bank match.

Finally Kane won a title...finally.

EDIT: When HBK jumped and landed on his stomach outside the ring, I thought he broke his ribs. He looked like he was in alot of pain. Anyone else notice this?

Overall Wrestlemania 24 = 7.5/10

Complete WWE Smackdown Taping Results *****SPOILERS*****

WWE Smackdown:

- Edge and Chavo start the show. They are upset that they lost their titles at WrestleMania, and feel bad that they have let their fans and Vicky down. They are both getting title rematches at Backlash. Also tonight, Vicky has signed Kane vs. Taker.

- Non-Title Match: Matt Hardy defeated MVP © in a 15-minute match. JT says, "They picked up right where they left off."

- Festus squashed Edge Guy Zach Ryder. JT says, "Festus destroyed him."

- HBK is out to the ring. Batista comes out to interrupt him. Batista is angry with HBK, and calls him egotistical. HBK tries to smooth it over, but Batista makes HBK feel guilty for beating Flair and says he should have laid down for Flair. Batista tosses down the mic and leaves. HBK gives his mic to the ring guy, is sad and leaves.

- Vladimir Kozlov defeated Matt Bentley in a very quick match.

- Non-Title Match: The Miz and John Morrison © defeated Shannon Moore and Jimmy Wang Yang

- After the match the Great Khali came out and beat down all four men. He grabbed the mic and started to talk about the Big Show, who then came to the ring. They stared down and Khali left like on Raw.

- Kane and The undertaker went to a double count out as they did the double big boot spot and couldn't answer the 10-count.

- The first 10+ Minutes was a "grappling bout," as they wrestled, hit no signature moves and just worked basic wrestling. After the double KO boot spot, they both did the sit up. Edge, Chavo and the Rated Rmy hit the ring and beat them down. Kane and Taker then did the double sit up again, chokeslam on Edge, one for Chavo and then double tombstones to close the show.

"You know what man, next year is Wrestlemania XXV. You know when it's your 25th wedding anniversary, you gotta do something that is significant. You gotta do something that stands out from all the other anniversaries. McMahon vs. Warrior--Wrestlemania XXV...that would be awesome! Anyone watch Raw? The ending was fucking stupid. Orton and Triple H were having a match for the World Title, a good match in fact, HHH had Orton in the crossface and Regal tells the staff to take it off the air because the fans "disrespected" him earlier. The screen turned black with JR and King screaming, fans cheering, you can only hear whats going on, and then fucking Law and Order pops up.... Didn't even see the outcome. This disgusts me. Time didnt run out either, was part of the show. Stupid, and the fans that disrespected him were the fans at the arena, not the ones watching at home. Totally ruined a good match. I'm about to be done with WWE. But hey, at least Cena didn't win the World Title last night. And he wasnt even on Raw I don't think. But... Stupid move, they might have just lost some viewers after this shit.

The PPV was alright. I didnt expect Hardy and HHH to win titles. The only reason Cena doesnt have the belt is because he's filming a movie right now.

Expect a big push for Kennedy because he just finished filming a Behind Enemy Lines sequel.

Some of the old rubber ones can sell for $10 or so sometimes. But overall you wont get much for them. If you sold them as a set with a ring or something on www.ebay.com you might get an interesting offer if you find the right bidder. You're better off checking ebay and getting an idea of what they are currently selling for.

Attitude Era
Steve Austin became the new face of the company, starting with his Austin 3:16 speech, shortly after defeating Jake Roberts in the tournament finals at the 1996 King of the Ring pay-per-view.[5] The WWF began broadcasting more violence, swearing, and more edgy angles in its attempt to compete with World Championship Wrestling. After Bret Hart left for WCW following the Montreal Screwjob incident,[6] Vince McMahon used the resulting backlash in the creation of his "Mr. McMahon" character, a dictatorial and fierce ruler who favored heels who were "good for business" over "misfit" faces like Austin. This, in turn, led to the Austin vs. McMahon feud, which, along with the formation of D-Generation X, laid the foundation for the Attitude Era. The Attitude Era also featured the established Monday Night Wars, where both WCW and the WWF had Monday night shows that competed against each other in the ratings. Many new faces came into the WWF such as Mankind (known then as Cactus Jack from Extreme Championship Wrestling), Chris Jericho, The Rock (then known as Rocky Maivia), Kane, and the 1996 Olympic gold medalist, Kurt Angle.

I miss the Attitude era. That was such a great time to be a wrestling fan - The Austin/McMahon fued, the original D-Generation X, The Ministry of Darkness, The Rock. I still get some enjoyment out of todays wrestling, but I don't think wrestling will ever get as good as it was back then. The only way it could possibly happen is if TNA were to get more big names from the WWE added to their roster and moved there show to Monday nights thus creating a new Monday night war. When you got two wrestling organizations in direct competition for ratings that's when you get great TV. I doubt that will ever happen though, and even if it did I still doubt wrestling will ever be as good as it was during the Attitude era.

Regarding William Regal's reaction to his second Wellness Policy violation, he is said to be "understandably deflated," reports prowrestling.NET. Regal was in the midst of the biggest push of his wrestling career and it is quite obvious to him that the timing of the suspension couldn't have come at a worse time. Regal, who has been battling addiction problems for a number of years, was not showing any signs of a relapse according to several witnesses. World Wrestling Entertainment never releases specific details regarding drug testing violations, so there's no way of knowing what he did to trigger the suspension.

------------------------------------

It seems like a trend that when a wrestler gets one of the biggest pushes of their wrestling careers they fuck up! Recent ex) Jeff Hardy - Who imo would of had the title by the end of this year only for he got suspended.

Anyone see Raw? Was pretty good. Vince at the end was obviously talking about Million Dollar man becoming GM. At least that's what I would hope. Haha, giving away a million every week, you'd eventually become bankrupt.

Orton broke his collar bone at the PPV.

Aurone

Randy Orton was examined backstage immediately following his match at WWE One Night Stand and was then sent to a hospital for tests on the severity of the injury. Backstage went crazy when Orton took the bump out of the ring, and he could be told telling the referee that he broke his collarbone.

Credit: PWInsider.com

I heard that on his way back, Fans where yelling at him still think of him in character and he was Pissed about it. All honesty, if I got a real Injury, I wouldn't care about my character or how I'm supposed to look to the fans either.

Did anyone else register for the money? I did took a long ass time to get on. I have to say I've been out of wrestling until a few weeks ago because it was so sucky but it's actually getting better.

Fav. current wrestler is Mr. Kennedy this guy is awesome.

Only US residents can register, bastards!

Here are the ECW Results from last night:

Fatal Four-Way: CM Punk def. Tommy Dreamer, John Morrison and Chavo Guerrero
Matt Hardy def. Armando Estrada
Colin Delaney def. Armando Estrada
Shelton Benjamin def. Matt Sydal
ECW Champion Kane def. CM Punk

http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/results/

Its only a matter of time before Big Show is ECW champ anyways. Also, when CM Punk cashes in his $ in the bank, I hope he doesnt waste it on the ECW title.

I agree, wrestling has been much better lately. Great Pay Per Views.

I hate what they've done to ECW. Now it's just a place for the WWE rejects to go. Granted that's how it was before but these are some REAL rejects.

P.S. I hate the Big Show what a waste of space. Can't wrestle, no mic skills, zero personality in character. Just as bad as that Mark Henry.

He's better but that's not saying much. I was only into the Big Show when he was part of the Dungeon of Doom in WCW as The Giant.

When he joined the nWo he kinda lost his identity. But when he joined the WWF/WWE he gained it back. Mark Henry had a few pushes, but he always gets injured.

Dr. Awesome
06-05-2008, 04:47 PM
True but for me he just never really brought anything to the table worth liking even during his push and I've never liked Mark Henry not his look, mic skills, or wrestling ability and sexual chocolate wow don't get me started.
