In the last couple weeks I have read 4 books.
1.Fool Moon by Jim Butcher
(Goodfor a second book but could have been better, his endings lack a certain something)
2.Mistle Toe Murder by Leslie Meier
(I had read Back to School Murder the 4th book and it was solid so I finally found the first book and it was garbage. I still have 3, 7 and 9 in the series to read if I want to, but I probably just read #3 and thats it)
3.Killer Pancake by Diane Mott Davidson
(The fifth book in the series and of the first five its easily the best so far. The killer wasn't random like the others and I hate when they throw so many people out there so you can try and guess and then the killer ends up being someone barely in the book just so the arthur can say that you can't guess who the killer is.
This one was great and I cannot wait to read the next 7 of them.)
4. Nightingales Lament
(This is Books 3 of the Nightside series and again this is amazing book and his ending is much improved over the first two. I cannot wait to get into the rest of the series.)
Right now I am 12 pages into Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs and 100 pages into Grave Peril by Jim Butcher. Soon start The Main Corpse by Diane Mott Davidson as well, I have to read 3 at a time as I have 22 books to read by april, plus college going on as well.

Good zombie book. Romero type zombies minus the people eating. It's follows 3 people trying to survive after most of the world dies suddenly from a unknown disease, Some of the dead turn into zombies. Just started the sequel Autumn: The City.

Grave Peril by Jim Butcher
Didn't like the way he just threw michael in there with no history or proper introduction. Also I felt like something in between the middle and the end was missing from the story. Though the end to the book was amazing compared to the lackluster endings in the first two.
Cannot wait to dip my hands into Summer Knight.
Right now I am reading The Main Corpse by Daine Mott Davidson and Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs.

If your in the mood for funny and you want a supernatural/horror (usually) twist to it. Read Christopher Moore he's funny.

yeah and you won't be dissapointed by the rest. Its quite different from the movie actually. But equally just as badass.
I just finished Reading Carpe Demon: Adventures of a Demon Hunting Soccer Mom. It turned out to be pretty funny. Its about a woman named Kate Connor who is a retired Demon Hunter. She lives now with her Husband and 2 kids, Allie-14 and Timmy-2. None of which know anything about her former life. When demons start showing up in town and trying to kill her shes got no choice but to fend them off while trying to pretend like nothing is happening and lead the life of a wife/mother. Theres a high demon named Goramesh who is looking for a holy relic in her townin California and plans to raise and army from the dead to take over the world. It ended up being pretty funny, while the mommy and wife stuff does take a big chunk of the book the writer (Julie Kenner) does manage to throw in a lot of humor when need be. But get down and serious when the demons show up. Anyone into horror/comedy (a genre thats far far better in book form) should check this out.

I love viral advertising. As lame as it can be, it did lead to a site where you can play 20 Questions against Darth Vader. Done right, it's pretty fun.
I'm almost finished enduring Shadowfall by James Clemens right now. Man, I love his grasp of what new audiences want in fantasy. The man builds worlds with amazing skill. But the dude is way too interested in body fluids. The entire banned and the banished series felt overfull with references to womens' periods. Or more common, the first periods of young women. This new series leaves no form of excretion forgotten. So it's a love/hate thing with his books.

Battle Royale will not disappoint. It is a fucking fantastic book and surpasses the movie by far.
I read all these this summer.
A Game of Thrones - Best fantasy novel I've ever had the pleasure of reading. George R.R. Martin is a fucking genius.
Battle Royale - Previously mentioned.
Ice Station - Awesome mindless action novel. Scarecrow shoots a whale in the face.
Area 7 - Mindless action novel featuring Scarecrow once again. Matthew J. Reilly is great at writing this over the top shit.
Black Creek Crossing by John Saul - Decent at best. Carrie?
Scarecrow - The third Scarecrow novel in Matthew J. Reilly's series.
The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum - A pretty graphic, shocking novel.
The Butcher's Boy by Thomas Perry - Awesome hitman novel.
The Long Walk by Stephen King - The pacing was a bit off but in the end I still loved it.

In the past few weeks I have read.
Killing Floor by Lee Child - Jack Reacher spends less than an hour in a small town and is arrested for murder. Even though he hasn't killed anyone for a long time. Dun Dun Dun. Fast paced, interesting, mystery/action. Lots of bad assery.
Rain Fall by Barry Eisler - A hitman that falls for the daughter of his last kill. Then he is hired to kill her. Dun Dun Dun. Superb thriller/action with vivid Tokyo imagery.
Die Trying by Lee Child- Second Jack Reacher Novel. Jack Reacher is walking down the street when he helps this handicapped lady with some heavy bags and is then kidnapped by some right wing nut jobs. Little does he know that the handicapped woman is more important than he can possibly imagine. Dun Dun Dun. Plenty of bad assery, sweet action, good pacing, enticing mystery. Pretty much as good as the Killing Floor.
I just started Darkly Dreaming Dexter which is about a serial killer that only kills bad people. It's a show on showtime called Dexter.

I read The Island awhile back, it wasn't bad. Laymon could write a good story. But after awhile he'd get so sexual it would make things ridiculous. Are all his books like that?

I also read The Serial Killers Club. It reminded me a lot of Darkly Dreaming Dexter but it was still a fun read. There were some interesting characters and if your into the light hearted serial killer deal you will probably enjoy it.
The Gunslinger by Stephen King is the latest book I've read. I've been wanting to get into the Dark Tower series for a while but I never really got the chance. I thought it was pretty entertaining and well written, much better than his latest stuff. I'll read the second one later.

King's always been a hit and miss for me. Some books are amazing (Cell, Carrie, Firestarter, Cujo) and others I just didn't like (IT, Gerald's Game, Dreamcatcher).

I've been writing a book as of late *as of late being over the last 4 years* but the last book I guess I've legitimately read was the final harry potter. Which i must say was boring as hell.

I plan on ordering SNUFF from Chuck Palahniuk off amazon this week.
I recently read The Green Mile and and a few short stories into Everything is Eventual. I really think his shorts and non horror are much better I need to check out Different seasons and Hearts in Atalantis.

Naked Lunch, by William S. Burroughs.
He's not for everyone and a little hard to get into, but there are lot of great themes running around in Burroughs work.

Control and Power.( Junkie and Dealer, Doctor and Patient, Government and People) It takes a few readings, and honestly there are parts I still I don't get.
The chapters with Mad Scientist Doctor Benway are my favorite and they're also the most narrative parts . Benway appears in a lot of his work.
