Maniac is an excellent movie. Very depraved. It is a very different movie than most slashers since its not "a guy in a mask". If I lived in NYC during the dark era, and saw this movie....I would be moving.

Maniac is sweet.
Town that dreaded sundown is sort of based on the "Phantom Killer" that terrorized the town of Texarkana back in 1946. Personally I thought the movie was decent enough for a watch.

'Maniac' is pure exploitation greatness. I mean the movie really isn't very good but the violence is unforgiving, the special effects great and watching Joe Spinell is always a treat.

And the poster kicks all sorts of ass.

He is a director and if you haven't seen any of his work you probably wont like House by Cemetary.
Zombie/Zombi 2 is the best film he made. His movies are usually slow paced and make no sense whatsoever, and i'm a fan of Italian horror flicks.
google Lucio Fulci and there will be a ton of reviews and images of his movies exc.

But sense it's just a download i'd say go for it then tell us what you think after you watch it.

I like Fulci movies, if you want a good 1st impression check out Zombi 2 or The Beyond. THBTC is weak, bad dubbing and everything. The Beyond freaked me out at the end, truely horrifying if anything like that ending could actually happen...(imagien getting stuck in a real bad dream). Now if you want a great giallo check out "Lizard in a Woman's Skin" which is considered his best giallo, the other being 'Dont torture a duckling".

Zombi 2 is good, The Beyond is abstract garbage, Lizrd in a Womens Skin was a weak giallo, you're better off watching Argento movies if you like Giallo's.
Fulci's work is mediocre at best.

Sleepaway Camp - Definatly YES!!! Great slasher. Don't read any reviews or posts about it because they'll give away the ending, and it is really one of the most shocking endings ever :shakes:

I fell victim to the flashy cover back in the day and I shall spare you that awful fate.
The movie is horrible. I have seen some terrible movies and this ranks right up there with the worst of them. The acting is beyond awful, the effects are very lame, and there is very little action. The story is absurd and the ending horrendous.
Infact it's the worst vampire flick i've seen. I think Frigt trashed it in his review too.

Aftermath is a non-verbal film that begins with a tragic car accident and the stages a corpse goes through at the hands of a twisted coroner. Def. disturbing...you may not want to watch this around children.

I saw parts of this, but cant explain it. All I remember from the download was a guy ripping another guy's skin off of his arm; exposing the skeletal remains of the arm.

I thought the Town That Dreaded Sundown was a pretty neat watch, not what I was expecting but still very suspenseful. The only thing I didn't like about it was that weird unfunny 70's comedy time-filler, like the old black lady with chickens in Last House on the Left.

Blind Dead is worth a watch, but nothing special. My brother blind bought them and we spent the entire time making fun of them. If you do watch them, watch the spanish versions for better gore. (The dialogue is cheesy and unimportant, but there are subtitles.) Also, a girl gets raped in each of the first three. I think the director gets off on rape or something...

It's part of On Demand, you have to pay the monthly thing, like HBO and stuff and need a special box. But once you get it, it has a veriaty of movies, TV shows and specials for free. Some of the newer stuff isn't free, and will cost, but other older stuff is.

As for 'Fearnet', it's a free on-demand horror movie channel.
It is 100% free aslong as you have on-demand. On-demand is free with basic digital cable.
You don't need to have HBO or any of the premium channels just digital cable.

Being the boards biggest Argento fan I can say Tenebre is greatness. Could be his best movie imo. I'd also recommend 'Sleepless' aka Non Ho Sonno, Opera, Bird with the Crystal Plummage, The Stendhal Syndrome, and Trauma.
