This is the latest film from Japanese cult director Takashi Miike, which is supposedly a prequel to a popular manga about a violent warfare between rival high-school gangs. It'll premiere in Japan in October. Looks good so far, check the teaser:

Just saw the flick earlier with a friend -- awesome! Surprisingly good story for a movie just about dudes in high school fighting. Miike also makes you actually feel for some of the characters as well.

The fighting is pretty good too, and luckily, it sticks to being more realistic than crap like Volcano High, where the guys have super powers :rolleyes: Probably going to remain as one of my fav. Miike flicks. 8/10

Sounds promising, "Blue Spring" for the most part was about high school guys fighting and that movie is nothing short of fantastic.

Tempted to download it but I'm waiting to buy the DVD, since from what I've read while both flicks are good 9 Souls is better.

DVD should be cheap and easy to get and well worth your $$. I'd give it an 8/10
