This is probably the best demo i've ever played. The graphics, the art style, and the enemies are all fucking awesome. If you own a 360 download this demo. It's 1.3 gigs, but it's worth the wait.

It simply will not download for me. At all. I've tried everything. It got to 83 percent today and just stopped. I deleted it off my HDD and started over, it got to 5 percent and stopped yet again. I've never had this problem with any demo before. I d/led the Stranglehold demo in 10 minutes or less, this is just ridiculous.
Really pissing me off cause I've heard nothing but good things about it.
Also, for any RPG lovers out there, the Eternal Sonata demo is pretty tits as well. The battle system is simple, but very effective and the graphics are gorgeous. I think it's gonna blow Blue Dragon out of the water in every way imaginable.

The download never really stops,it just appears to.When downloading it,if it stops, cancel the download then restart it.When it starts downloading again it will show you where it's actually at.

After playing the demo, it appears Bioshock will most likely be one of the best games of this generation of gaming consoles.

I have no disagreements there, but I did hear some things at E3 about it being +- 20 hrs of gameplay, which is not very stellar. However, if I try to rent this from Gamefly it'll take weeks to get it, so I'm stuck with the dilemma, buy it or wait.

I have no problem with 20+ hours.Seeing as how the average game nowadays is 10 hours.Plus it looks to have a lot of replay value.

Got to play it, and I gotta say it's not quite as good as I'd hoped, which is my fault because I guess I was expecting too much. The visuals are amazing, probably the best looking world to date on any console. It has atmosphere out of the ass, too, you just feel danger lurking at any corner. I'm sure that it's just because it's a demo though, and that the full experience of the game will pump me up a lot more.
So far, what has unimpressed me is the clunky controls. I've only tried 3 different sensitivity settings, so I'm sure with a little more tweaking I could make this a little better.
Is this game gonna be good? Oh yes. I just hope it's as great as everybody is making it out to be.
Personally, I will not be spending money to buy the game, though I will definately rent it or play my roommate's copy when he finishes it which shouldn't be long. I just can't spend money on it when I have Stranglehold, Halo 3, and some others with replay values due to great MP that will be more worth the price tag.

The atmosphere really brings this game into a whole new level, though like GD said, it's hard to justify spending 60 bucks on merely a single player game with all the games coming out with both a great SP and MP. I'll Gamefly it, but if it turns out to blow me away I might just have to hunker down and buy it.

Glad to see somebody else sees it my way. I'm sure it's going to be an amazing gaming experience. Some experiences aren't worth $60 though. This one would be if it were as long as Zelda or oblivion.

Played the game for a couple hours last night, so far it's really bad ass. I love the whole stylized look, sorta similar to Timesplitters with the almost cartoonish/realistic mix. The only gripe I have is the controls which are a little wobbly when it comes to aiming (probably just me). Definitely one of the coolest games I've ever played...

I had the some complaint about the controls. They just don't feel, well, for lack of better terminology they just don't feel sure of themselves. Precise aiming for me was non existent and I've been playing FPSs since Wolfenstein. Your enemies move incredibly fast as well (especially the flying gun machines). I'm sure there is a sensitivity on there that we both could find that could help this problem, but I've never had a game that was so hard to find it. I usually got it within 2 sitdowns with it but have been unsuccessful with this one after playing the demo for the fourth time yesterday.

I feel what you're saying. I was having trouble aiming with the guns or finding the helicopters. I basically just zapped everything and smacked it with my wrench because guns kind of sucked if you went for headshots. but if you shoot the body you waste too much ammo.. weak. it was just a demo so I didn't tweak the sensitivity.

Wasted almost a whole machine gun clip on one of those fast-ass nurses :dsp:
those Big Daddies are bitches to kill, takes a lot of ammo. On the regular enemies, I just bash em with my wrench. :D

That's another thing. I hate that you can't block with the wrench or any other melee weapon. You just have to dodge and hope you don't get hit.
And yes, the machine gun does eat some serious ammo and is hard to shoot. I still want to play this game, but bad controls can seriously hurt a FPS.
how do you grab other melee's?

Have you guys been saving those little girls or harvesting them? I've been saving them, and I was given a decent gift for it, which included lots of adam and some items.
So far my fav. weapon is the shotgun because of it's wide range of hitting the target, along with the machine gun with those antipersonal bullets (whatever their called).
Fav. powers so far are telekineses, controlling big daddies, and freezing targets

With the price drop and the newest model that has a few new things added to it, I'd say it is, but to be sure I'd suggest waiting for the upcoming 2nd gen one with the new 65nm chip.

I've never tried it; I'm usually trying to move around enough not to get hit. So far the best weapon I've seen against'em are upgraded grenades and heat-seeking missles and anti-armor ammo.

I thought that at first also, but then i realized that it would feel way too similar to condemned.I haven't bought the game yet because i'm playing through the darkness one more time before i trade it in.I have watched and played a bit of the real game at a friends house though.I can't wait to play through it the way i want though.

yes it would feel like Condemned but the blocking of attacks in a game is not a bad idea. To me, not using it is almost a step backwards. I wouldn't mind if it felt way too similar to something that has a good thing. I didn't hate R6: Vegas because it had a cover system just like GoW. IMO, things like blocking melee attacks and cover systems are improvements in genres that should be used from here on out and improved upon even more.

It's funny how I usually stop using the wrench and other first-item weapons in FPS' the minute I get a gun, but the wrench is so powerful in the game (especially with upgrades) that I find myself mostly just using the eletricity to stop my opponents and the wrench to bash'em.

I guess if you zap them most of the time i could see how that would make blocking obsolete.

just beat it. All in all it was a fun game, but I'm glad I got it form Gamefly. The graphics were good. I like how the water flowed over you when you walked under it. Me I just used the grenade launcher on the big daddies. Seemed to do the trick pretty good. And hopefully you have been rescuing the little girls and not harvesting them. Cuz Theres a good and evil ending. But its fine either way.
Whichever one you get, you can just watch the other one on Youtube. Its what I did. I'm not playin the whole game over just to see a different ending, to hell with that. I liked the bad guys, and how their were different kinds of splicers. And how if you were careful the big daddies would fight the splicers instead of you. But I wish there had been different types of bad guys. I was hoping the fight a giant squid or some kind of sea monster thing. Not a bad ide a for a game though, had that 40s noir thing going on but also survival horror. I liked that. I hope they make more underwater type games in the future. I think a lot could be done with that.

I think I'm getting closer to the end. Right now I've just damaged the core and I'm heading to Andrew Ryan's office. I'm taking the Big Daddies out easy now -- just hit'em with grenades or heatseekers, then finish'em off with those flame bucks from the shotgun. Does the trick pretty good, I can usually make out with using no more than one first aid kit.
well fuck i was playing and out of nowhere it freezes. Im at the forgot what its called, the place where the invisible ones attack you

Just beat the game. The last boss was surprisingly easy. Good game, longer than other FPS' I've played, which is obviously a good thing. Worst weapon in the game = crossbow. I barely used it.
I checked the "bad" ending on youtube and it's much better than the "good" ending in my opinion.

Not sure how many hours, but I think it took a little over 3 days of gaming to beat it. My usual pace, pretty much.

so is this game worth owning or not?
sounds to me like its a game an above average player beats in a few days, with the only replay value being to get an alternate ending, and no multiplayer

I think it's best as a renter for most peeps. I personally like owning my games in case any friends ever want to try'em out, plus it shows off my collection :D
so do you have to save or harvest a certain amount of sisters to get a good or bad ending? Ive just been randomly choosing, but Ive had more harvest so far

I love first person shooters, but if it only takes a couple days to beat, and the multiplayer isn't worth it then I don't buy it. This I wouldn't buy, but I'd deffinatly give it a rent. Especially if you have Gamefly like I do. Like I should be getting Lost Planet next. I heard its really short but considering I'm just renting it its worth it cuz it looks cool.

I just sent back Lost Planet, I didn't like it at all. It was boring for me. It moved WAY too slow and after a while it got to be "Shoot orange spot on giant bug," "get in mech suit and kill," "shoot pirate and take rifle." I also thought that the level design was pretty piss poor, worse than Halo 2 IMO. It looked alright, but basically it was just terrain covered in snow. Even the inside levels looked way too generic for me.
how do I get that hypo or hydroglycerin thing in that one guys office? its behind a glass
just beat it. Main guy was way easy. And didnt even end with credits or anything. I think i got the bad ending. I liked the crossbow, most of the time killed the splicers with one hit. One I almost never used was the pistol. Favorite weapon is probably the shotgun too. Shotgun seems to always be the best weapon in these fps games
ah the good ending sucked

Upgraded lightning and bees were my fav's. The lightning's stun effect was very useful and the bees helped big time with a lot of enemies, plus when they're lvl 3 they last longer
yeah the bees were good, especially with the big daddies. How many plasmids were there total? And probably the most useless one was the security one

Aside from the security, I didn't use the big daddy, or mind control ones much either. I usually just killed the daddies off and the mind control ones didn't always work or for very long.
