Give us some trivia tidbits that some of us might not know about. It doesn't have to be anything amazing. Just something that sort of made you go "oh", when you found out about it.
Here are two to start..
Fright Night - I've read that the character, Peter Vincent, is an homage to both Peter Cushing and Vincent Price.
Dawn of the Dead (2004) - This one I noticed myself. Heather Langencamp of 'Nightmare on Elm Street' fame is credited as part of the production crew.

Evil Dead 2 - Because Wes Craven showed Nancy watching Evil Dead in A Nightmare on Elm Street, in ED2, the Raimi's hung a copy of Freddy Krueger's glove in a back corner of Ash's tool shed.

Bela Lugosi only starred as Dracula twice. The first movie was of course Dracula and the second was Abbot and Costello meet Frankinstein.
He was in other vampire movies but he was never Dracula in them.

Supposedly real skeletons were used in the production of the "pool scene" in Poltergiest. I never did find any actual statement says this was true or wasn't.
In the Twilight Zone movie, actor Vic Morrow and two kids were killed when a helicopter crashed, decapitating 2 and crushing the other.

Joel Schumacher put a poster of Rob Lowe in Sam's bedroom because they were good friends and he was pokin fun at him.
The Spheres in Phantasm that are stuck in a persons head are printed in reverse. To get them to fly they used fishing line and a Baseball pitcher.
Thats all I can think of right now.

In 1980 ruggero deodato was brought in front of a court to prove that all the death scenes where in-fact fake. He was able to prove every one except the impalement scene. They couldn't find the actress who was the victim because she was a native girl they found. They recreated the prop (bicycle seat on top of a log) and brought in many people including gymnasts to try it out. Not a single one could hold still for more then a few seconds. How could a local do so is still unknown. Some people think that she was actually killed for the film.

John used a lot of names about names in his movies.
Laurie Strode was actually the name of Johns first girlfriend
Tommy Doyle was named after a guy in Rear Window
Besides this is my favorite.... Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee was asked to play Sam Loomis but turned it down. Christopher Lee a couple of years ago announced that it was the biggest mistake he's done in his profession.

Rumor has it that one of the drafts by Nigel Kneale for 'Halloween III' had the Shamrock Masks being used for mind control, rather than mass murder. This would have arguably made a connection with Michael Myers, perhaps owning one of these masks as a child.

This is more of a technical oops, but you can consider it a bit of trivia.
In The Evil Dead, when Ash shoots his possessed sister Shelley in the face through the hole in the door, you can clearly see the red tube through the demon's latex masking or make-up that is feeding the blood out from the wound.
Then again, there are alot of technical mistakes and errors in The Evil Dead, this just happens to be one of them.

Ichi The Killer: (from Wiki) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ichi_the_killer)
- Director Takashi Miike reveals on the US TokyoShock DVD release that the semen used in the close-up during the intro sequence, when the film's title raises out of a puddle of semen, is real. It was supplied by Japanese director Shinya Tsukamoto (Iron Man Tetsuo) who plays the muscle bound mastermind that controls Ichi. Miike gave a bucket to Tsukamoto to fill but was unable to provide enough material for the shot. He passed the bucket to three other crew members to add the remaining amount.
- Director Takashi Miike was supposed to have the pimp beat up a prostitute with three punches. However, in the end, he increased the number to fifteen because he could not stand the actress, Mai Goto

This doesn't come from a horror film, but I still found this pretty interesting
In The Simpson's Season 7 episode, "Lisa The Vegetarian", Apu takes Lisa onto the rooftop of the Quik-E-Mart to show her his vegetarian garden. He tells Lisa that from his rooftop he can watch Drive-In movies for free. When the camera cuts to the Drive-In movie sign, there are two movie titles listed. One of the movie titles listed on the sign is "I Spit On Your Grave."

In Audition. the scene where Asami throws up in the tin bowl, that was her actually throwing up in it. Eihi Shiina a method actress, and prefered it this way.
Actor Charlie Sheen, after watching it, was convinced that Guinea Pig: Flowers of Flesh and Blood was an actual snuff film. Afterwards, there was an investigation on it.
The band Skinny Puppy also thought the movie was real at first, and they wrote a song about it.
Japanese seriel killer Tsutomu Miyazaki used Guinea Pig: Flowers of Flesh and Blood as a template for one of his killings.
In the movie, Uzumaki, in the scene where Kirie and Suichi ride past the cop on the bike, the cop looks back at a wanted poster. The person on that poster was Junji Ito, the author of the Uzumaki mangas.
The movie, Marronnier, which was co-directed by Junji Ito, is a movie about dolls. In the movie, they show one doll/puppet that looks like a Japanese man, but has spirals in his eyes, and has his body spiraled up at the bottom. This doll was, of coarse, modeled after Junji Ito because of his Uzumaki books. He also makes an appearance in the movie as a man in a hat in the forest drawing.

In Friday the 13th Part III, right after Andy dies his girlfriend gets out of the shower and goes into the other room for the night. She grabs a magazine and lies down in the hammock and opens to a random page. She opens to an article about Tom Savani who did the special effects in the first one and "The Final Chapter."
