Phew. I was worried there for a second, I thought Hollywood was going to stop making shitty horror movies. I feel better now though to see they still have no desire to make something watchable.

I kinda understand what you mean. I think he's a great actor, but he sticks to 2 genres, action for one group of fans and heavy drama for Oscar considerations. It is nice though to see him doing something a little more internal here. He looks like he might do a good job with this.

As a fan of the novel its really dissapointing to see what they're making this into. I'm sure it will be an action packed blockbuster, but all of the components of the book are gone. Why is it that everytime human are now taken over by a virus(dawn of the dead 04, 30 days of night) they turn into superhuman sprinters. I just think its a little ridiculous. In the book Neville was a hunter by day killing off the vampires as they slept, thus making him a legend among the vampire group. Looks like now he just hangs out all day with his dog running on a treadmill.

I'll check it out and I'm sure I'll like it but a part of me wishes a different actor was sound proofing his little house right after he dumps some bodies at the pit.

Studios probably feel the oldschool, slow movin monster isnt as flashy with todays audiences as it was in yesteryear. Plus once they see a movie make money with that concept, everyone uses the same ordeal.

In Planet Terror, the 'zombies' didnt seem to be superfast but thats really the only recent movie to date where I didnt see the obligatory superhuman, fast paced zombie or monster.

I wanted a true adaptation to this film. Wil Smith will never convince me that he is a doctor/biologist after all the other things he's been involved in. The movie is already ruined for me in a small way with him in it. Just doesn't work for me. They should have cast someone else.

i was writing a story about a virus but my peeps dont turn into zombies they just die quickly in a gorey horrible fashion......this will be an actual novel not one of my graphic novels....i love to do illistrations but it didnt seem write for this story it takes away from the imagination....

The only concern the PG-13 rating brings is was it PG-13 from the start or did they dumb down a rated R script/shots to get under the wire? I like quite a few PG-13s that were that rate from the ground up. The ones the butchered themselves to fit a rating... yeah I agree with you. Guess we'll see...

Read the book, but haven't seen any of the previous film versions. This one looks alright. I'll rent it.
