Of course another fucking remake, but this one I am actually looking forward too. It is being done by Michael Bay (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre & The Hitcher). As long as he makes it a little different like RZ did with HALLOWEEN then it will be good, but I am looking forward to 2008 when this comes out.

Indeed, if they cut out the true ending of the first film in a remake it would be a bit overboard.

They will prolly just put Jason in it because when you think of "Friday the 13th" you think of Jason Vorhees even though Jason didn't appear until the sequel...

If they cut Mrs. Vorhees out and replace her with Jason I will be pissed beyond all holy reasoning because essentially what they'll be doing is just be making another friday the 13th movie and claiming it to be a remake.

It would probably annoy more if he wasnt in it,because I would bet most that go will be expecting to see him.

And to be honest I would much rather see a movie involving Jason more than Mrs. Vorhees.

If they were to decide to scap Mrs. Voorhees all together. I would hope they decide to go with a more conventional series reboot as you suggest rather than a remake with concievably no Mrs. Voorhees.

Jason may have been the franchise, but without Mrs. Voorhees I would call it a slap in the face if they remade it with no ties to Mrs. Voorhees.

Michael Bay is only a producer on this as well as the others you mention. You make it sound like he's directing. As far as I know, the guy who directed Darkness Falls is going to be directing this. Great choice....if you like horrible movies.

there were so many things wrong with this message i nearly busted a blood vessel. why some people have convinced themselves RZ's Halloween wass good, I'll never know.

For me, the real key thing with a remake. If it is indeed a remake and not a reboot is they need to hold up their end of the bargain and create Jason similiar to entries 2 through 4 and not just go for the upstoppable slow zombie Jason of the later entries or the similiar version of Myers that we saw in that Halloween remake.

Jason in the earliest entries of Friday the 13th was a killer who ran after his victims, before the zombified version of Jason that began with Part 6. Jason was a killer who ran in particular at the end in the final chase scenes. Very much different than zombie Jason of entries 6 through 10 or even Micheal Myers throughout the entire Halloween series.

For me, the whole zombie, slow unstoppable machine is very old and obviously cliche. Rob Zombie decided to go that route in the remake with Myers even though he was shown as somewhat more human with his sister.

I think its a mistake and hopefully whoever takes the controls of a Friday remake/reboot restablishes that Jason was a much different killer than Myers in the early entries. He was a killer who used a variety of weapons, not just the machete which was much more a repetitive staple of his arsenal in the later entries. He was also a killer who ran after his victims, he showed pain when attacked and was fearful of being attacked by weapons at times.

Jason in Fridays 2 through 4 passed as a much more human like, realistic killer that could happen minus some of the punishment he took. Hopefully they dont destroy that by going straight for the predictable norm.

RZ's Halloween was awful. If the Friday remake is anything like that than that's pretty fucking sad.

I think I'll skip this one.

1.) I hate most remakes.
2.) I hated TCM remake and didn't even bother with The Hitcher. Michael Bay can fuck himself.
3.) If the director of "Darkness Falls" is involved, I'll end up wanting to rip my face off before the movie's over.

RZ's Halloween was awful. If the Friday remake is anything like that than that's pretty fucking sad.

Blasphemy! Rob Zombie's Halloween was really good, I don't see why people hated it too much. Not to digress too much from this topic, but why did so many of you hate it?
And in your explanation, don't reference the original.
