Action RPG. You can play it in 3rd person or 1st person. Theres classes with guns and classes with melee swords. So basically 2 people can have different experiences.

The Witcher is badass. It's like Kotor/Neverwinter nights style RPG with vampire like dialogue and quests. Oblivion like world. There is 3 endings that I heard of. The animation of the sword play is top notch. I haven't played it yet. I'm picking it up tomorrow. I bought Hellgate today though.

Hellgate: London, sooner or later, I just bought Guitar Hero III today, have to go back next tuesday to pick up Call of Duty 4, and the following week after that Assasins Creed is out, and Mass Effect after that, so maybe I'll be picking that up too.

It's just too much to blow on games all at once..

But about Hellgate Driden, I tried the demo but they start you off crappy and dull just like most RPG's do with the beginning levels, But what's it like once you start to get into the swing of things..

I'm only lvl 15 now and I'm barely scratching the surface on skills as you can see by my hotkey bar. It gets more fun as you go. Some of the armors remind me of pics of Too Human. Here's a current look of my guy.

CoD4 is only 4 - 5 hrs long and $60 for MP I don't know. Sounds like a rental? Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect will be great but I think I'm going to wait for those. The Witcher is over 80hrs long and Hellgate isn't a quick game either. I'm also playing the Japanese version of FFVII Crisis Core on the PSP. so yeah, no more games please!

well COD 4 may only be 4-5 hours long, but the beef is in the multiplayer..so I can see it lasting for awhile, After reading more about the witcher though I might buy it once it goes down in price, since I'll already have enough games to play. Nothing better than paying 20 to 30 bucks for a quality game if you just give it some patience.

Is Hellgate fairly bloody too? Usually it doesn't matter but from the makers of Diablo II I would expect some of the nasty..

Some zombies you can cut limbs, heads, even cut a zombie in half and have the legs still walking towards you. Theres even creatures that after they die maggots and dead bodies come out of the stomach and come after you. There is a quest where you venture inside someone's head but its not as nasty as the spider's den in HL2 Ep2.

Those pics are taken with DX9 at Very High settings. The game defaults to DX9. I tried DX10 and its not worth the hit on frames imo.

Great game. its a huge game though full of quests. Kind of reminds me of Baldur's Gate. I hate having so many choices on skills, stances, sword type etc ugh. How many chicks have you slept with so far Fright? I've been with 4 and got rejected by one.

I heard about that "feature" in the Witcher though.. seems like kind of an odd thing to throw into a game..

The Witcher looks cool though, I might buy it down the line when it's at the sweet spot of 20-30 bucks.

I'm still just trying to find some light in the damn caves -- don't have the stuff for "Cats Eye" and I dunno how to make a torch for some reason.

By the way, which you like better so far: Hellgate or Witcher?

You can find a torch in barrels and chests in people's houses but you can't fight and hold the torch at the same time unless you fight using the torch. Cat Eye potion is your best bet.

The Witcher is better. Hellgate other than the cutscenes sucks in comparison storywise. there is no motivation to keep going. Its way too much like WoW imo. The questing, the skills, the UI, its all WoW with Guildwars mixed in. The armor looks great and that's the main thing pushing me to keep playing it, to look cooler.

no doubt, I still occasionally look at it and think about reinstalling it for old times sake..that game was ridiculously fun.

I'm mostly in the swamps now in The Witcher. I concluded that long-ass arch in the city and wasted that one dude and his goons. Not liking the swamps -- reminds me too much of WoW for some reason. I'm still waiting to get some new gear :dsp:

There is only 2 armors in the game I hear. One was in the city at the beginning of Chap 2 from the rich looking merchant for 5k and the other is in chap 3/chap 4 ish doing some quest (according to gamefaqs).

That sucks. The most orens I've collected so far is 4k and that doesn't last with all the books and stuff I buy. How far are you in the game now?

I try not to buy books unless I have to or there is a quest for it to get my money back. I'm in Chap 2. I don't remember what I'm doing there but its kind of lame. I heard this game has over 8+ chapters btw

I just hit chapter 3 earlier and I'm at some lame banquet, meeting all the rich people in the new city :rolleyes:

Oh, and I bought that $5k armor earlier, but have yet to test it out :D

Hit Chapter 4 this morning. I think I'm lvl 23 or around there now. I'm wasting monsters and others mofos fairly easily now, especially with the new armor I bought in the previous chapter.

yeah lol. lame ass UHMers don't know good games ;) I was the only one playing Persona 3 before and its up for RPG of the year lol. My time is split between Crisis Core missions, CoD 4 MP, and Folklore. I kind of stopped playing Hellgate and Witcher. I'll get back to them soon

I was playing TimeShift until I started The Witcher and I've been playing that since. After I beat it I'm gonna finish TimeShift then get started on CoD4, Fear, Hellgate, and Crysis :eyebrow2:

Well, I beat the game. It was only 6 chapters and I think the highest lvl I reached was 32. Chapter 5 was probably the hardest of all the chapters since it introduced a lot of incredibly tough foes. The chapter that seemed the shortest was 4.

Once you get the upgrades and badass Witcher armor, it gets a lot easier, so you slash through the baddies in the final chapter with no problem. Overall, a great game and probably the best RPG I've ever played, but then again, I haven't really played that many to begin with.

It would have been a perfect game had it not been for the horrible load times and constant crashes and freezes. I would imagine there will be more games considering the source material, so bring on Witcher 2!

the what? I'm not a Star trek or Starwar nerd. Just a gamer and not even a competitive one. Although Dri Lord of the uber dorks sounds interesting jk 360 fanboys own me, they get hardons and rent games for more achievements. I can never be that extreme to play games I don't like for points that mean nothing

I'm just messing with you a bit since you mentioned how you were playing that persona game(heard of it, can't remember the name in the slightest.)

You're right on the money with some of the 360 fanboys thought, I spend most of my game time on my xbox360, and sometimes I see people with almost 100,000 gamerscore, I check the list of games and what do I see? games based off children's films so they can bolster there gaming score so that they can be the coolest virgin on Xbox Live. It almost makes me want to stop playing games.

Granted achievements can be fun little diversions but I'm not one to call my friends over so we can play the latest disney game so we can get all the achievements and then circle jerk about it.
