also known as CANNIBAL, or something, I guess.

Anyway I'm downloading this right now and it sounds OK. It was directed by the guy who did the latest Punisher film and is supposedly inspired by Cannibal Holocaust. Anyone seen? I don't think it's out on DVD just yet.

Downloading it aswell, suppose to be pretty decent even though it borrows heavily from Cannibal Holocaust. Apparently though the director threw a fit because somebody from the CHUD website said it was like watching a remake of CH in a review.

Haven't heard of it.

Stay the fuck away from this flick, absolutely fucking terrible.

It's only about 76 minutes long, and nothing happens for about 50 minutes of the movie. Unless you count a group of 20 something year olds fighting, drinking, and talking shit with each other while they are in the jungle.

There is one fx that can be compared to the woman on a pike scene in Cannibal Holocaust, but it's not worth watching this shitty movie for that 10 second bit. Just wait until someone loads it up on YouTube. Very little in terms of gore, especially since the "gore" scenes take place at night so the only time you can see something is if they shine the flashlight on it and even then you don't see much.

Not a good comparison between this and Cannibal Holocaust, but a whole hell of alot like Blair Witch Project.

Didn't seem like something to expect much of. Really, do you guys find a lot of good shit on straight to DVD movies? I heard really great things about Wrong Turn 2, but aside from that and a few of the 8 Films to Die For, I haven't really heard anything good about a straight-to-DVD movie in a long time.

When you say Wrong Turn 2 as direct to DVD you are right but its still pretty mainstream. If you want to watch some bad direct to dvd movies take a look at Braindamage studio movies. They suck... and thats why I dont watch them anymore. Once in a while i'll pick up an unkown movie and really like it. Most recently The Ghouls.

The last straight to DVD movie I saw was The Gravedancers, out of a bunch of recommendations I got here, and it was better than some others I've seen, but it was still pretty bad.

Kind of hard to "expect" anything when there is little info to be found on a movie other than it's getting a DVD release and a debate of what movie it ripped off.

As far as DTV goes...Session 9, August Underground: Penance (although to get the full effect you need to watch the entire August Underground trilogy), The Ugly, Junk, Bio Zombie, Redsin Tower, Nails, Visions of Suffering, Cannibal, Meatball Machine, City of Rott, Blood Feast 2, etc. All good direct to video (in the States) releases.

Anyways at the end of the day how good a DTV flick is in the eye of the beholder, yes the bad DTV flicks out weigh the good but alot of people think Dead Birds is really good but alot of people don't aswell.

I saw advertising for this movie on some site I went to, and it looked so fake just based on the bloody skeletons.

Despite the shitty reviews, you forgot to mention a plot!

Bloody skeletons have nothing to do with the movie, like most horror covers today what you see on the cover isn't what you get in the movie.

Didn't mention a plot because there isn't one. You get a shot of all 4 of these kids looking into the camera saying they're going to New Guinea to look for Rockefeller and thats it. The rest of the movie is these stupid kids, doing stupid shit and bitching in the process.
