I'm wrapping up one of the most insane news days we've ever had here with some huge news. I've been holding this little bugger for a few weeks now, but I just heard something that will contort the story a tad. Jeepers Creepers 3, will it happen? Our sources say yes, no, maybe? Read on for our exclusive update on Victor Salva's long-awaited third film, starring The Creeper!

This is pretty hilarious as this past week I started working on my list of films I want to see and can't help but wonder where the f-ck they are (sneak peak here). One of the films I was about to add, along with X-FILES 2 (announced here) and AKIRA (announced here) - ironic I know - is Victor Salva's JEEPERS CREEPERS 3, which most horror fans have been begging for.

So here's the deal, coming from three separate sources. Our initial intel was that Salva has been trying to get the studio to let him make the third film, to no avail. He has an idea and has been pushing and pushing. The studios response was "there's no franchise here anymore." What crack are they smoking? I'd rent another 50 JEEPERS CREEPERS films so long as they keep pumping them out.

So cut to today. New sources tipped off B-D that apparently Salva has finally been given the thumbs up and is currently writing the script. The plan is for Salva to produce and for another director to helm the film, but in the end we still might see Victor get behind the camera. We are also informed that the film WILL BE DIRECT-TO-VIDEO.

We have every reason to trust all sources, as they are regular tipsters, but I have yet to confirm that Victor has signed on the dotted line. I pray the answer is yes. Bring on The Creeper.

I hope it makes it into theaters though, I kind of have this immediate drop in expectations and optimism whenever I get a straight-to-DVD horror movie. The Creeper's a great character, and there's a lot of potential for an excellent sequel, hopefully this guy Salva will do a good job. What else is Salva famous for?

Aside from the Jeepers Creepers flicks, he's done Clownhouse, Nature of the Beast, Powder and Peaceful Warrior. Of all his stuff, I liked Nature of the Beast and the first Jeepers the most. Clownhouse was decent but it's tough to watch knowing what happened afterwards.

I'd see a third JC movie....after the awful second, there's really nowhere to go but up.

I thought the first half of Jeepers Creepers was outstanding,then the second half brought it down a few notches,for me.
I'm not a big fan of Salva's style.It seems he always has to have some sort of homoerotic images in his movies.

Agreed, I often thought The Creeper could of been the next big Horror Icon if they had jumped on a sequel sooner. I also thought it would be fun to see The Creeper vs Pumpkinhead.

We confirmed, along with another website, that Victor Salva will in fact be writing and directing Jeepers Creepers 3. We broke the news exclusively here last week after years of waiting (who do you love?) The movie is intended to go direct-to-video, but obviously things can change by the time production ends. Unique monster design and fairly solid creature background got my attention to JC. The differing style in which the two films were made caused me to step back and think, "well, a least the sequal wasn't a photocopy for more cash". I liked the idea that the first was a good old fashion 'something is stalking a few folks' deal and the second was 'its killing left and right and its right outside!' deal. I give credit to ANY sequal that doesn't just redo the first with different characters for more cash. (respect /= liked btw)

If this is made, I'll look forward to it over many of the dread remakes...

To be correct, while we havn't seen any death's aside from the old lady, he has killed woman before, remember when Darry fell into the Pipe? He saw the couple from 23 years prior who where on a Prom date. And god knows how many other's where in that web of corpses he had in that church. Besides, the fact that he kills and eats a child is far darker in my opinion then any chick.

True. And not to mention the Creeper is a male monster, (from what we can tell), so it really wouldn't make sense for him to eat female parts when he can eat male ones.

Actullty, I just recalled that he did kill a female officer in the first film. We just didn't see the cause of death, we just saw him pulling her out. He also grabbed and flew away with the the Bus Driver in the sequel. So he has killed a few more, we just didn't see the cause of death.

Fly away with /= death scene. He could have at least tore off the lady officer's arm or something before snatching her. For all we know, he just dropped the bus drive at 500 feet cause he isn't in to fat chicks.

I know there are female bodies in the first film's cavern. However, thats not the point. The point was how many he has killed during the films. Besides cat lady, there was none compared to male deaths...which were many.

I see where your coming from. Who knows with this third one, maybe we'll see more deaths, more gore and some female victems. I persionally would love to see some scenes where we see him actually eating the desired body part. That something else we havn't seen, we only saw him pulling out the officer's tongue.

First film, didn't we glimpse him arm munching in the jail cell? And how much chewing does a tongue need? Bite, pull, swallow is about as much as I would expect for such a body part.

when the first one came out i was so excited to see it and then when i did i was pissed because it was a 'bat creature' and i hated it. i always thought it would have been a lot better if it was an actual person...but after watching it numerous times since then i dont think its that bad anymore. but i dont think its great either....the second was eh....

Live long enough and drive enough cars off the road and I'm sure you can find the right plate...or steal the equipment to make one, which isn't hard to come by.
