The wife and I just went to the Three Weeks of Halloween show last night and kicked much ass.

The Bands:

Suicide City - never heard of them before, but they did a damn good job for an opening band.... and their bassist was a hotty.

Gorgeous Frankenstein - Doyle's (of the Misfits) band... they rocked and had a half naked bitch dancing around the stage. I enjoyed their set so much I bought the CD... also got to meet the lead singer, which was cool.

Horror Pops - another band I'd never heard of... their music was pretty nifty. The lead singer playing metal on a bass violin and there was half naked chicks dancing around on the stage, which is always a plus.

Danzig - The headliner. This was the first time I'd seen Danzig live and I was impressed. Danzig did a fine job, even though his arm was in a sling with what he said was a broken shoulder. Later for the last couple of songs he took off the sling (bet that hurt as much as that dude knocking him out!)

The best part of the whole show was after Danzig finished his set, after a shitload yelling and stomping from the crowd, he came back on stage, sang another song, then called Doyle to come out and we were treated to Vampira, Skulls and Astro Zombies... probably the closest I'll ever get to seeing the original Misfits in concert. It was very cool to see Danzig and Doyle on the stage jamming some of my favorite Misfits tunes.

All in all, I thought the show kicked a whole lot of ass. My ears are still ringing and I've lost my voice... that's always a sign of good show to me...

Anybody else catch, or is going to catch, this tour?

<Edit> Came to find out the half naked bitch in Gorgeous Frankenstein is Doyle's wife Stephanie Bellars, also known to wrestling fans as WCW's Gorgeous George.

Damn, seeing Danzig perform the classics would be a hell of a lot better than seeing Only or Graves spew it out for a quick buck from fans looking for nostalgia. I know that.

I saw the Horror Pops a few years ago. Good show, but I was disappointed they replaced one of the girls who was in the music video I saw before attending. I sooo wanted to see her in person.

Seen Danzig back in late '80's early 90's with Salyer at the Felt Forum. Didn't like them then, don't like them now.But good or you. Glad you had fun.

Understandable, considering I think you saw the original Misfits at CBJB's or something... this is as close to it as I'll ever get...
