Anyone seen this yet?
I was planning on seeing this tonight (with an adult) but our theater decided to close 5 or the 8 screens to save money before they open up the new 18 screen theater early next year.

I just got back from seeing it and I thought it was excellent.

8/10

But thats just my opinion. I don't know about the others might enjoy it.

I liked it. For some reason I thought the Mist came out today as well and went to the theater to see that, but when I saw it wasn't, went to see this. Had some nice bloody moments and Wes Bentley has always creeped me out. Plus it's from the guys who brought us High Tension and the Hills Have Eyes remake so I was already expecting to like it.

7/10

Wes' karaoke scene = Awesome.

Just got back from the film, excellent movie. Aja wrote the script, he didnt direct it. Very intense and suspenseful. I was the only one in the theatre, other than a movie and two little girls and a middle aged woman. The woman walked out after the first gruesome scene. The mother and daughters were pretty overwhelmed, esp after I clapped after a few more graphic moments. hehehe.

It was long enough, no real "jump" scenes, all genuine. 8/10 I will pick this up on DVD. Aja and the gang knows what they are doing.

Only four people in theatre? so does that mean the movie will flop big time?

BooBerry
11-10-2007, 07:03 PM
Oh, no doubt the movie will flop. But it was still good IMO. It was me, my man, and another teenage couple in my theater.

And most horror movies do get bad reviews.

I still gotta see SAW IV and 30 Days of Night. :)

It can't be worse than the Hallowen remake.

Had no intentions of seeing it, thought the trailers made it look pretty boring other than the lead had some decent jugs, but I kinda want to check it out knowing Aja was involved and some of you have dug it so far.

THAT'S NOT CHEAP!!

Our nightly ticket prices here in the lovely state of North Dakota are $7.75, at the giant and amazing comfortable theatre.

The Carmike 8 bumped their price a quarter to $8, they ain't like the other theatre, but they're still awesome.

And I think both theatres here matinees prices are $5.75

I just came back from watching P2. I thought it was also a good flick. There were few gore scenes (which didn't bother me), but when it did call for it, they weren't bad. Wes Bentley's acting was decent. It seemed funny to me at times, like when he would scream and/or get frustrated. Overall, a good flick.

There's already a DVD screener out so you don't have to bother with either.

Movie looks like another dime-a-dozen thriller anyways. I doubt I'll waste my time or bandwidth on it.

I watched the dvd rip the other day. Quality was really good...the blurs on top and bottom were really not distracting at all. The movie itself was pretty good. A decent way to kill 90 minutes anyway.

Two things I've been curious about in the flick -- why there was no fire alarm that could easily be pulled and why the chick never busted up a bunch of cars to set off their alarms either. Both plausible ways of getting the attention of the authorities I think.

I was kind of curious as to what exactly happened to her car. As far as I could see, they didn't show Bentley's character doing anything to it. From the way he's got everything set up in the security office, it leads me to believe that he had the whole thing planned out. If he didn't tamper with her car, it would be one hell of a coincidence that her car conveniently wouldn't start that night.

It only made over 2 million this weekend. FLOP!

Sure $2 million is a low opening weekend but I'm sure the budget for a movie like this wasn't very high to begin with. Just a few actors, no big stars with a fairly static location and no effects.

I heard they spent around 10 million on advertising ALONE.

FrighT MasteR

According to IMDB the budget was an estimated $8-million. It doesn't surprise me that the flick flopped at the box office since the mainstream audience is either looking for a lot of gore or a big budgeted mainstream flick. Plus a movie like this is a bit hard to market anyway, since it's not gearing towards any specific audience really. Regardless, it'll make its money back in DVD sales.

11-13-2007, 12:33 PM
Gotta agree with Fright, DVD sales are usually high for horror flicks. I still haven't seen it but I will probably check a torrent in a bit.

Especially with the cheap tactic of releasing an "Unrated version," which usually doesn't consist more than a couple extra minutes of footage :dsp:

I doubt they'll make TV spots for the DVD release though. Whenever it comes to DVD, they'll probably throw it on the shelves leaving it for people to find it themselves.

***SPOILERS***

So I went to this last night. Me, a female friend, and some guy I don't know. LMMFAO long story, don't ask.

But yeah, the movie started at 9:40pm, and we got there at 9:50pm. We were hoping the trailers would still be playing. As it turns out, NO ONE bought tickets for P2, so they had to SPECIALLY play it just for us three. Pretty bad ass.

It was one of the smallest theatres out of the 15, but still pretty damn cool. I got to get relaxed and rest my feet on the seats and sit wherever I wanted.

But yeah, on to the movie. I loved how it started off with Christmas music. The security guard was CREEPY as fuck. And I even laughed at him a few times. Man, I thought I was weird.

The gore was pretty damn sweet. The car scene and the dog scenes ARE brutal. Just, damn. I thought the movie wasn't dumb or anything, so that's a plus.

The ending was pretty damn sweet. But I was like "bitch, the police will prob. think you went crazy and never suspect the guy to be a killer". Since she had no proof he did the things.

The homeless lady scene had me laughing my ass off. Ahahahah GOD. Thank God we were the only three in the theatre because people would've told me to STFU.

The end shot where she's walking and it's snowing = beautiful.

So yeah, P2 baby!!! Totally worth the $5.75! Yeah, the awesome theatre here has matinee prices ALL DAY on Tuesday. From the regular nightly prices of $7.75. Totally worth the money and was a lot better than I expected. Because I went into the theatre with low expectations considering the horrible reviews and box office failure it's gotten.

lmmfao, I'm glad they didn't give it a cheesy ending. Something like her walking and then here he comes driving a car and he's badly burnt. Then she runs and it's over.

The keys to those cars were in that one room she was hiding, right? Or did I see it wrong? If she did set the alarms off, wouldn't he easily find the keys and turn it off?
