Poster is pretty cool. Story sounds like it could be good. Reminds me of Jurassic Park meets The Thing meets Outbreak haha.

I know I’m floating in a boat alone here on this one, but I really enjoyed this movie after watching this movie, I was left with a Horrific lasting impression.
The message this movie sends is a sad hint of our reality. Its one of those movies that could have went horribly wrong and cheesy. Yet they stayed in the safe zone. I won’t ruin the movie for anyone, I will say this though. This movie opens your eyes and speaks to you threw pure Horror. No this movie isn’t really all that Gorey, and the acting is just so so. Val Kilmer plays the most evil/saint/Crazy/Sane/ Character I have ever seen. With his intention being for what he believes to be for the best. The writer for this movie, really has a grasp on the way us people treat our planet. Despite the bad acting and no real follow though of completeness. The message its self is over whelming and will have me telling everyone I know about it. There forth doing its job as a true great horror film. Actually horror. I thought Thaws ending suited the entire movie. Just goes to show that once we F**k the world up, there is no way no matter what we do or who we have to sacrifice it can not be changed. The whole point of the movie was to bring awareness, in Good old Fashion horror Form. This movie is taking a beating lately and no one seems to see the underlying message.

Picked up the dvd yesterday...
I like a good bug flick. They are one of my guilty pleasure sub-genres. However, The Thaw disappoints me. It felt like the film-maker was focusing too much on the message he was trying to put out and the rest of the film was an afterthought, like the bugs were simply a tool to highlight his message rather than a major part in the film.
Overall, a decent flick. I'd give it... 4/10, would have been higher if it wasn't so pushy with the message and just made a horror flick.

I thought it was okay as a first time watch, but didn't buy it...even though the place down the hill from where i live keeps marking down the blu-ray (if it ever gets down to 5 bucks, I might grab it)

This is about bugs? I was convinced it would be about someone with a lisp getting a carpet burn

I liked it. I just had to look past all the global warming bullshit.
