Is there a movie that might not be so mainstream but in your opinion really kicks ass? If so what is it? Mine would certainly be Session 9. Not a whole lot of people saw this, except of course for us die hards, but in my opinion it is a movie that needs to be seen and praised.

The Addiction, The Ugly, New York Ripper, Bloodsucking Freaks although I think that one is pretty popular. The Changeling, and yeah this is a kind of popular movie I personally dont think it gets enough credit.

The best is hard. But I loved Neon Maniacs and Rawhead Rex which I just recently saw. Few flicks has made it felt like I was a kid again.

Tricky question to ask because what was once a common movie is now rare so to a horror fan it SHOULD be common but to new casual fans its not. A good example is The Burning. Most new fans of horror never seen it

Oh yeah totally, I gotta go with the Burning too! Love that movie.
Black Christmas too. I'm surprised that so few people I know has seen it.

Black Christmas one of the few to get a 10 from me. Such a well done movie and the atmosphere is amazing.

Define main stream. Main stream as in most folks or main stream as in what horror folks would know. Big difference. Most folks wouldn't know what cannibal holocaust or C.H.U.D. are, but horror folks... they are household names. *shrug*
In short, tricky question.

A lot of people who are into horror have for some reason never heard of High Tension, so I loan it to them. They usually love it.
Same goes for Dolls and Humainoids from the Deep (the 80's one).

Dolls was good
The Beast Within, Body Melt, Tenebre, Non ho Sonno (Sleepless), and possibly City of the Walking Dead.
Oh, if you like 80's movies or vampire flicks i'd recommend Vamp!

Saddly, I cannot find a decent DvD for humanoids from the deep since my last was stolen. Its a pitty...
High Tension is a good pick, if you get the uncut version. That edited copy out there takes alot of the film. I respect C.H.U.D. for its creature effects on a limited budget. I loan my copy out often to folks who enjoy a good creature feature.

I got The Ugly free with something at Walmart, don't remember what, but I haven't watched it yet, and its been sitting on my shelf for over a year. Gonna have to watch it soon.

Some of the 'best' horror movies are still scripts and likely will remain so because they cannot get proper funding to do them justice. Hollywood doesn't respect horror enough to go out on a limb sometimes. :shakehead

That is a very true evaluation of the situation.
