Sucks its on the NFL Network. Pats have a game on there but their also obviously contractually obligated to show the Pats on local tv so no worries there.

Yeah Comcast makes you pay for NFL network. It was free for a few years but now they want $$$. Ofcoarsae Direct TV doesn't charge for it though. Most of the nation wont get to see that game and the NFL Network is to blame.

He hasn't played there in 9 years. Both teams are completely different, and Favre doesn't seem to let certain venues get to his head anymore. Of course the home team gets the edge, but in terms of offense and defense I think it's a pretty even matchup.
I think it comes down to who has the ball at the last second.

Its going to be a tough game im anticipating this matchup. Hopefully Packs defense will get it together and stop with the damn penalties...thats what kills us every game ....its almost costed us several times....we can't afford any screw ups against dallas.

I'm not one to post silly ass predictions and make worthless bets over the internet. You think Dallas is going to win, fine. You think it'll be a blowout, fine.
I'm a realist. I don't see where Dallas has any significant edge over Green Bay to where the Packers can't compete.
But if you just want some prediction without actually discussing football:
Packers 34
Dallas 30

As much as I hate to say it I dont think Dallas can hang with the Packers. The two best corners together in the Bizz,Woodson or Harris can cover Owens and will get physical with him.Aaron Kampman is a beast at LE on a very solid D Line and he will pressure Romo quite often and Dallas will have a very hard time getting a run game going.Favre and his receivers have been pretty impressive and seem to be getting better every game.
It should be 1997 all over again.
Knight
11-23-2007, 07:31 PM
I'll just stick to talking football with actual football fans rather than bandwagoners and degenerate gamblers.
One edge I think GB has offensively is the ability to spread the ball. Instead of relying on one or two playmakers like Romo, the Pack have shown they can unleash 5 receivers at any time who are a home-run threat. This forces teams to send linebackers deep to cover wide receivers, instantly creating mismatches. There's simply not enough depth on most teams to cover these loaded sets. Minnesota, Carolina and Detroit were given absolute fits and Dallas has been suspect against the pass all year.

They made some big plays, but let's be honest. Eli has a history of folding like a chair in the second half of the season. They also seem to have the Giants number the last few meetings as well.
Some big plays in one game don't cancel out a season full of mediocre pass defense. I will say this, with AD coming back next week, the Vikes are definitely back in the wildcard hunt.

Anytime anyone has anything good to say about their team or a team in general that isnt a team Steelba favors. Steelba always has something to say, usually yucky and futile.
Starting to remind me alot of VT and his 15 favorite teams and his frivolous meltdowns that he was imfamous for before his inevietable banning which of course wasnt directly related with the sports threads although im sure those were taken into consideration.
I dont have a problem with Steelba, but sometimes he comes across alot like VT which isnt a good thing. Its not like everyone on the board goes around talking super shit about the Seahawks and whomever else he roots for. Yet hes attacked virtually every fanbase of every opposing team on the board in troll like fashion.
Dont get me wrong, I dont mind shit talking as its common ground in sports as long as its in good fun but then theres just trolling, hating and ignorance.
Cowboys/Packers is a toss up matchup wise. Romo has been great this year but there are games where he looked human as well. One he could've lost (in Buffalo) and one he did lose on his own field to NE even though losing to an AFC team is irrelevant tie breaker wise. Still it was a loss nonetheless.
The Pack have looked good and Favre is probably playing the best football hes played in years. Nevertheless, he has his games where things dont go his way. Thats the way it is. The game could be a blowout, but I think it will be a close one with homefield at stake.

That probably wont be happening. Chicago gave GB there 1st loss and Dallas thumped Chicago so i'd expect another thumping.
NE scores a TD on on D immediatly, not looking good for the Eagles. On the plus side they have a better QB than McNabb playing now.

Well, when going by that logic the Packers should just smoke Dallas because the Vikings played Dallas tough and really could have won that game with better coaching and the Vikings beat the Bears and the Packers litarally dismantled the Vikings,so that must mean the Packers are a better team.
But,who knows, maybe your right.IMO the packers have the best D in football and a great O,I might even say they are the best team in Football right now.

Pats have some serious work to do on D.
It looks like if a team has a good secondary and a decent offense, they have a shot at beating the Pats. The problem for the rest for the league is not many teams have a good enough secondary, like the Eagles do, to cover three great wide receivers.
That should do it. Wish Gastowski woulda made that FG.

Is it just me or has Light been totally sub par this season? He's been getting beat a lot and he's had a ton of false start penalties.
Three weaknesses that need to be addressed via the draft are CB, OT, and RB. Brady's line is NOT as good as people hype it up to be...he just moves really well in the pocket.
réÐþÁ†µ
11-25-2007, 10:31 PM
Matt Light is a good left tackle. But I tend to agree with the notion thats hes very mediocre good against decent pass rushers and he gets a ton of penalties.
Corner is a given. Hobbs shows signs of good play but hes mostly a guy who gets burnt badly. Running back is a puzzle simply because they seem like they dont want to try to run the ball but its apparent from this game that if you dont run the ball. I dont care how good the recievers are, someone will find a way to shut it down.
So who knows, maybe they need to think about running the ball some more.
Good for the Eagles...They stuck in there and at least they have something to build on for next season. They could have won tonight.
Max Payne
11-25-2007, 10:36 PM
Red, gotta stop worrying about that defense when the Pats have the best offense in the leauge.
That was the best game the Pats have had all year in terms of entertainment...
The defense wasnt too bad, they had way too many under neath passes but they were rushing Feeley all night and alot of those completed passes were last second ones so it's a bit mis leading to say they were dominated, in fact you might say the Eagles played great on defense but managed to give up 24 points.
So yea, they need some work and known how the Pats are, no doubt they will have a tough week of practice.
As for these ass clowns trying to sell the audience on how it's a miracle that Philly stayed in this the whole time, it's a complete joke.
The 24 point spread, is just people like you and me and their opinions...
Now if the Dolphins, and the Jets give the Pats a game like this, then that would be a miracle.
Joker

Bad play calling on the Eagles 2nd to last possession. They should never have gone deep, they were within fied goal range with 4 minutes left. They should have kept the ball on the ground to eat up the clock,if they dont score they kick the field goal and send it into overtime.
réÐþÁ†µ
11-25-2007, 10:41 PM
If the Pats dont start running the ball when the weather gets worse up here. Teams are gonna come in here and play the way the old Pats used to play, a physical brand of football which the Pats almost lost to tonight.
You cant always throw bombs to Moss and the rest of the cast every week. It just isnt gonna work. Some team will eventually find a way to slow it down like the Eagles did tonight.

He was argueably one of the best up and coming safeties in the league. He was like a linebacker playing safety. Could deliver the bigtime hits when needed.
Pure talent wasted, such a shame. Its not like Washington can call a timeout either. They still have a game to play Sunday.
RIP
They should call the game on Sunday, IMO. Some things in life are bigger than football and television revenue.

Don't worry, the Pats are coming soon, so at least you'll get murdered by a good team.

sean taylor was a great player. I'm really gonna miss him, he brought energy and excitement to his play that made him fun to watch. the redskins have bigger things on their minds this week than football and rightfully so.

Alot of thug influences with U players former and current.
Wouldnt be surprised if that had something to do with it.
What a great statemnt from a grocery bagging, Ricci stalker. I'm surprised you have time to come up with these kind of conclusions, what with 90% of your free time of time being spent on beating off to Christina Ricci pictures .

Pissed by my dead on, balls accurate account of you being a VT clone.
You should of just let sleeping dogs lay where they were.
I said I had no problem with you overall, but hey. Feel free to go down that road.
Only problem with anyone I've ever had on the board in true fashion is VT back in the day. Even with mini spouts with Duff over the years, we still get along well enough.
In other news, someone should probably just close this thread before it gets any more futile and repetitive.

I've been following everything. Haven't had too much access to a computer as of late. I should be around a lot more now though.

It's just one man....granted I'm not one to blow over a guy dying...but life goes on. I think even Sean Taylor would want the Redskins to play...and win.

rumor over on espn says that the skins and bills working on a deal that would put the skins in a 10 man defense leaving the secondary posistion the taylor would normally be in open and the bills would run the balls.
i think thats great, even if the bills lose a down because the skins would know that there running the ball.
i think its kind of surreal, all yesturday when i found out he had been shot, i kept thinking ill turn on espn news to see he died in the stat tracker, and sure enough today it happened, i dont know why i kept thinking that cause every time news outlets report something as "critical condition" it's usually a over reaction and being shot in the leg/groin usually wouldn't strike you as life threatining.
it sucks, rip.
