From EnglishRussia http://englishrussia.com/?p=1633#more-1633 :

"They have touched some underground river in that place so the water in the ditch didn’t get away so it stayed there full of water. Then some workers a few months later spotted some movement in this water, they threw some pieces of their lunch in the trench which caused a big activity inside. They were puzzled who is there? And caught one thing up then in big panic stepped away cause it tried to bite them so they had to kill it with some equipment and here are the remains of it. It was around 5 feet length. Nobody of them got any idea of what’s that." (I think this was a translation, that's why its un-grammatical )

To be honest, it looks like triop to me... and I sincerely doubt it's 5 feet long... triops are itty bitty.

It does resemble a triop more so than anything, and I also agree that it's not likely 5 feet long but just going by the first picture I'd say it's bigger than a triop just by how much of it's anatomy (for lack of a better word) you can see underneath the shell or whatever that's suppose to be.

That might just be me though.

Scientists say that there are still thousands of species yet to be discovered, especially in the sea.

This is true. When they found that Celeocanth (sp?) fish in Brazil or where ever it was on the news.

toop bulky for a stingray, stingrays are flat. Where as horshoe crabs have a bulky, turtle like shell.

choptop2

Bulky, rounded shell, and sting rays have eyes on top of their flat surfaces. If you click the link it my last post, you'd see that is the first thing to pop up on google image search for Horseshoe crab. The one in the picture is a metal sculpture made by that cross between The Dude and Walter.
