My brother has some limited edition Screeching Weasel vinyl. Naming them as your starting point gained some points with me.

I could never get too hardcore to any one punk band outside of (maybe-punk) the Trash Brats. It's more to do with bands who stick so vehemently to one genre.

Still.. man.. Screeching Weasel did some cool shit.

Rancid puts on a hell of a show. Definitely a live band rather than one to buy a lot of albums from. I don't want to call myself a fan, but I wouldn't mind seeing them again.
