Couple games to touch on.
The obvious big game sadly I wont be able to see outside of highlights is Dallas/Greenbay. For me the obvious is Dallas has the better overall team. Wade Phillips has been the caretaker for what really is Bill Parcells team. For all the negative pub that Parcells gets. People forget he rebuilt programs wherever hes been to atleast a competitive level. That said, Wade Phillips seems to have the personality to fit with this team and I think that has helped that team tremendously.
The pressure doesnt seem to be there as much as it was under Parcells. Add to that Owens doesnt have another high profile person to clash with hence hes been quiet this year so far. The overall team doesnt have that cloud over them that they had in years past.
Then you have Green Bay which is essentially Favre and a bunch of young guys for the most part. With Sherman long gone from the organization who many feel was the reason they werent as good over the last few years because of shit drafts. Nevertheless, they rebuilt some areas that needed serious overhaul. They bring in a Charles Woodson whose a pretty good player when he actually tries unlike his later years in Oaktown. That said, who tries down there.
In the end, this game is probably the NFC title game. Dallas is the better overall team. They can run it, they can throw it and they can pressure the QB. The only real weakness is the secondary. Roy Williams is probably the most overrated Safety out there and has been for time now. If Dallas doesnt get pressure then I think Favre can pick apart that secondary but it will all depend if they can get it blocked up front.
Green Bay has Favre and a pretty athletic, young Defense and some playmakers at Reciever. Their glaring weakness is the running game and can they run it enough to keep the Defense honest or do they just decide to go with Favre throwing it 50 times in hope for the win. I dont think that will work atleast early on because I think Dallas has a great D line and they wont be tired in the early goings. Maybe they try afew screens which Green Bay always seems to be good at executing.
In the end, I think Dallas will win but if Green Bay can run or somehow hit afew quick solid runs for big gains and keep the pressure off Favre. Then I think they have a good chance of stealing one down there.
Jax/Indy is a big game. Last time they played, Indy won down there but I think if Jax plays physical against an undermanned Indy team and smacks around Manning. I think they can go down there and win a close game. But if the game becomes a track meet, its checkmate.
Cleveland/Arizona is another biggy much moreso for Cleveland at 7-4. With the Titans choking away their spot in the playoffs, Cleveland has gained control of their own destiny. If they continue to play well and top out at 10-6, they may get in and be the feel good story of 2007.
Detroit/Minny - pretty simple. Even in the NFC. Detroit doesnt find a way to win, 10-6 aint happening and neither are the playoffs.
NYG/Chicago - IMO Chicago is all but done but they will play spoiler especially against teams notorious for late season collapses.
NE/Baltimore - The Pats D shouldnt have as many problems with Boller as they did Feeley, nevetheless with what I saw on Sunday night. It wouldnt surprise me if this were another nailbiter.
Red, you gotsta turn your PMs on.

Meh good player, but ever since the hip injury in 2003, hes a mediocre pass rusher and bad against the run. Time will tell if its a big loss on Defense.

Koren Robinson paying huge dividends as a WR/KR as well. Had a huge kick return against Carolina and caught a bomb in stride last week against Detroit.
At first I wasn't sold on the guy based on his history. It looked like a desperation move by Ted Thompson. Now it's hard to argue with anything TT does these days.

No doubt. He was a nightmare in Seattle. He couldn't catch a pass to save his life. He appears to being doing well in GB but he'll probably drop alot passes this week. He absolutley can't play under pressure or in big games. Mister Inconsistent is his name.

Pack showed a lot of heart but Dallas came up more fortunate on the injury front today. Holding out KGB and Woodson obviously McCarthy was thinking ahead for the rest of the season, which is a good move in the long run. Aaron Rodgers was a pleasant surprise and gained some valuable experience in a big game.
Can't be too upset over 10-2. Lot's of football still left.

Usually if a fresh quarterback comes in they do better because the defense has
1. never seen them play
2. were not expecting him and didn't study up on him or
3. the opposing defense gets a little to loose because they are underestimating him.
I can see why Rogers did good but I think Farve should play next week if the injury is minor.
réÐþÁ†µ
11-29-2007, 10:41 PM
With that remaining schedule.
Packers should hold onto the 2nd seed and a much needed bye week.
Knowone else in the NFC should scare the Packers on that schedule. Bears and Lions are divisional games sure but they should take care of them. If not, I still dont see them losing out on that 2nd seed to Tampa or Seattle.

Too early to say much. Not saying ARod is the next coming of Steve Young, but he sure played like a first rounder tonight. I've watched him in the preseason over the last few years and he looked every bit as poised as he did tonight. For now, the future doesn't look so bleak.

I do think Rodgers will be a solid quarterback and will give the vikes problems for some years to come. So we can agree on that.
I'll give and example to my statement, Kelly Holcomb maybe one of the worst qb's I have ever seen comes into a game after a T. Jackson injury and all of sudden Holcomb looks like Fran Tarkenton. Next game he turns back to the shitty Holcomb we all know. I think there is a reason behind the madness when the backup quarterback plays great after the starter goes down.

Favre punked out, Rodgers had to pick up the slack and did better. Watch how uninjured Favre really is when he starts next week. Can't see anyone in the NFC beating Dallas unless Romo folds in the playoffs.
That said we now have an official best team in the NFC.
Now to get ready for an Eagles rape of the Seahawks this weekend. 34-10 or some kinda lop sided massacre. Unless Mcnabb plays that is.

Brett Favre's peers leave more football knowledge in the toilet every day than you could possibly ever hope to know or understand. Until they say otherwise, you're opinions are disregarded. As much as I dont like Grossman I agree, he's playing solid QB. I believe Aikman was talking about how he seems a lot more relaxed in the position after the benching and it definitely shows.
Seems like Rex just wants to enjoy the rest of this season and not worry about his contract being up until the time comes in the offseason.

It was more a bad luck call then a bad call, one view suggested yes but another one looked like no, but the Giants ended up lucking out, possibly because Eli was under that black tarp sucking on the ref's balls pleading for that TD.

Good news for the league NE is playing worse down the stretch. They are no longer dominating teams. The EAgles almost beat them and gave them all they could handle, the Seahawks beat the Eagles the followin week. Now The Ravens are given The Pats all they can handle and almost everyone else has beat them.
Pittsburgh has a good shot at beating this crumbling team. Indy or Jacksonville will certainly beat them in the playoffs. It's great seeing that their best ball is apparently behind them...

I gotta put him on 'ignore'. I'm sick of looking at his posts hoping to see whether or not his spiteful commentary on society is going to mature one day. I've had enough of his redundant, rebellious, teenager-like snipes at people.
I just happen to live in Maine, and I have Red Sox's and Pats fans all around me, I can call them douchebags if I want. Hell I have friends that r Red Sox and Pat fans and I call them douches so what? they call me a douche so what? u need to chill out. take everythin' so serious.
I'm taking things seriously? You two boneheads take sports so seriously that you're labeling entire regions of people as douche bags! Think a little, would ya?

what region r u in? cuz I'm gonna put that region under douchebags too. j/k. chill out man, I'm from New England and thats how it works around here, at least where I'm from. I make fun of the pats and they make fun of my team. its all in good fun, do u think I know every Pat Fan And Red Sox fan out there nah, I just know my friends that like them and I like to call the douchebags for likin' them. Its all in good fun. Call me a douchebag, I think u might like it.

Well then you don't agree with Duff. You said you joke and call your friends douche bags (don't we all?). He's from Texas and saying everyone who loves New England sports is part of a "douche bag fan base."
That's not exactly tongue-in-cheek. Duff is just the prime example of someone who talks big on a message board. Kid's a loser.
He's also a Cowboys fan and a Yankees fan. The Cowboys got smoked this year by the Pats as did his Yankees by the Red Sox and the only way he can handle it is to attack the entire fan base.

I love it when 'fans' of teams that are like 2000 miles away from where they live try to get in on the whole rivalry thing with other teams when they've probably never even been to that region.
For instance, a Texas Yankee fan talking shit with Red Sox fans.

I don't even no why you care about NE fans because you were a 49'ers fan for every year except this one. Then the bandwagoning happened and you have Patriot fever :D

I'm just not a big fan of the Red Soxs and Pats. I just like to make fun of the fans, I mean I'm pretty sure we all do that. But I see what u r sayin'.

I am a 49er fan first...but that doesn't mean I'm going to root against the home guys.
This year, it happens that the 49ers blow (again), so what am I going to say, "I fucking LOVE Alex Smith and how much of a bust he is!" There's not much good to say about them, but you bet your ass every week, if they're on TV out here, I watch the game.
As for the Pats, they're the home team. I'm not going to root for them to lose just because I grew up a Niners fan.
Sometimes, Steel, you act like I'm in Florida cheering on the 49ers and Pats. I live in New Hampshire (one mile from the Massachusetts border), and I grew up a Niners fan. I root for the team I grew up loving, but I also pull for the home team when they're playing.
I don't see how that makes me a bandwagoner. Everyone in my household growing up had 'their' team (my bro loved the Phins, by stepfather loved the ass-Packers, and my mom loved the Steelers), but we still always pulled for the Pats...unless they were playing 'our' team. I mean, they're on every freakin' Sunday here.

Yeah but you didn't say that in your post about people routing for there teams from 2,000 miles away hillbilly.
It's ok for you to live somewhere else and route for another team do but not for them.

Guess your selective reading abilities didn't catch this part of my post:
when they've probably never even been to that region.
And no, I didn't mention the fact that I grew up in Wisconsin today. Mainly because I've mentioned it a billion times since I've been on the forum.

Of course Chicago sucks...but they're so inept and inconsistent that they usually make for a good game. Hopefully my boy Rex throws at least 3 picks and puts the ball on the turf twice.
I am a Rex Grossman fan.
