Which ones are you looking forward too or wishing they'd make?

I'm ready for The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon and CELL for sure.

As for the ones I'd love to see: The Long Walk, Gerald's Game (although it would probably be a better indie straight to dvd film, it would be so slow paced). And, although the first was good, with today's effects, I wouldn't mind a remake to Firestarter. I think it could be sweet if it had another good crew behind it.

Eli Roth is already in the process of adapting Cell.

What're your thoughts on Eli Roth?
I think he's not very good with his own material, when HE'S the writer; but here he's approaching a pretty decent story (I personally didn't like Cell, maybe I was just expecting something more from his first piece of horror in like ten years after the Dark Tower bout) and all he's really gonna be applying is his directorial skill, so maybe we'll see a talent in him that we've never seen before...

The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon bored me to tears. I really hope they would jazz it up somehow. It was certainly one of his more monotonous novels.

Eli Roth...the maker of Hostel? Oh, lovely. We'll get an xxxtreme gore; titty, titty, ass, ass, blood, view of a King book. I won't hold my breathe for that one... :dsp::shakehead:bored:

Eli should do direct to DVD flicks, so people can watch them if they want, but not get them pushed onto them by seeing shit about them everywhere.

Insomnia might not make a bad flick.

But you know after watching The Mist and 1408 Im starting to think I like his direct to TV mini-series movies better.

I'm also looking forward to CELL and there are some short stories in the Everything's Eventual book I wouldn't mind seeing.

I also reckon they should do a good version of IT, because that movie did not do the book justice at all.

Last I heard, Tobe Hooper is set to direct From a Buick 8. Such a retarded book. I would like to see Gerald's Game, remake of IT, Bag of Bones, and maybe The Monkey.

I'm pretty sure Roth will ruin Cell. I'll still see it... just sayin'.

I'm still hoping for a remake of Pet Sematary.

And would it be too much to ask for a version of 'Salems Lot that's worth watching?

I thought the new one was good, and i've only heard good things of the mini TV series.

That one isn't based on King's book.

Insomnia with Pacino, Williams is a remake of a Danish crime thriller.

I want to see "It" get a good remake....not that the old tv movie isn't good...but it needs a big budget and needs to actually be scary.

I'd like to see what From a Buick 8 ends up looking like, and maybe the long in development hell Desperation...

I'm not sure what I'm expecting out of Roth with Cell. I mean, we don't have much to go by. 3 films, all his, but this work isn't his own. He writes what he obviously enjoys in horror movies (tits, blood, gore), but that doesn't mean he's incapable of doing a story that isn't "torture-porn"-y.

The only movie I can't stand from him was Cabin Fever. I loved Hostel, but was let down with Hostel 2. I'll give him a fair chance.

Probably end up a lot like the Stand.. seeing how long it is.

I'm hoping the Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon ends up like Shawshank. Not that they're anything alike, but I just hope it gets to be as epic.

I wouldn't mind the length at all. Those books were greatness.

The Long Walk would be one hell of a movie.

It is about a death walk that hundreds of teenage boys make. The winner is given a life time of money. It would be original and bad ass.

You should. I haven't even finished the series, i've gotten through to book 4 and its been a long time since I did that.

Have any of you read Rose Madder?
I think that it would make a decent movie, if the director doesn't try to make it "Lifetimey" like every other movie about abused women on the planet. I loved that book, found it very interesting, and hope to see a film version that does it justice.

I heard that the Long Walk will be made eventually by Frank Darabont, who directed The Mist. Also Pet Sematary is getting remade.

An IT remake? I don't usually watch remakes, but if a IT remake were to be made, i'll most likely watch it.

Exclusive: More on the IT Remake! Rated R?
Dave Kajganich It Remakes Stephen King Vertigo Entertainment
Heard from Dave Kajganich, the writer of the upcoming theatrical remake of Stephen King's IT, recently, and he was kind enough to give us an update on how this massive story is being streamlined into one film.

"The remake will be set in the mid-1980s and in the present almost equally -- mirroring the twenty-odd-year gap King uses in the book -- and with a *great* deal of care and attention paid to the backstories of all the characters," says Kajganich. "I think the real twist here is that my pitch to WB -- which they've assured me they're on board for -- is that this will not be PG-13. This will be R. Which means we can really honor the book and engage with the traumas (both the paranormal ones and those they deal with at home and school) that these character endure."

"I plan to be very protective of the book," Kajganich continues. "The reality, though, is that WB wants to do this as a single film, so I will have to kill a few darlings to make that happen. You have my promise, though, that I will do this with the utmost humility and respect for King's work. He's the King, after all, and I intend to continue to pledge to him my allegiance."

He had me at rated R. Dave has also assured us that even though what happens to the script is out of his control once he turns it in, the producers are top notch and willing to go to bat to bring the above to fruition. Look for more on IT soon!

I think there is a thread somewhere on the IT remake.

Actually I like all the king adaptations I have seen so far.

I thought I read somewhere a year or two back that JJ Abrams got the movie rights to Dark Tower because King was a fan of Lost or something like that. It may have been a rumor but I could've sworn I read a whole thing where the producers of lost went and hung out with King and he took them to see the Descent (may have been a while back since that movie was in theaters at the time).

Also, IT remake would be great. I've been wanting that to happen for a while now. I'm glad it's finally been announced and is being done.
