I play video games like a big majority of America, and I would be pissed if I spent hundreds on a system to have it not work properly. However, I've never understood (or really respected) the people who will spend hours/days in their rooms playing video games.

Maybe this is the Technology God's way of saying, "Okay, you've played enough and now it's time for you to get you lumpy body outside and jog or something."

Ok Mr. Game Companies...what have learned from all this?

Sony - Don't hype up an over priced "computer" system to gaming market when you know damn well that 95% of your Playstation customers just want a GAMING system.

Backlash : Falling stocks, profits, and favor ability in the gaming world only to ultimately slash the massive prices of the system anyways. They are selling more but they are taking a huge hit for every system sold. It has yet to be seen if they can start making decent money off of it.

Microsoft - Trying to get your next gen system on the map before the others is not such a bright idea after all, seeing as the system was rushed anyways, now there are millions of faulty systems out there and your being sued...congrats.

Backlash : Dropping stocks and severe damage to their reputation for gaming. If the lawsuit is won, I doubt we'll see Microsoft in the next gen wars, and even if they are, I think they've leard a hard lesson.

Nintendo - Taking the time to develop a revolutionary gaming system that has won amazing praise from all walks of life. They have proved that you don't need a over priced system with pricey "computer components" - you want a computer go buy one, and if you take your time and think outside the box and take the time to develop your vision, the people will see it.

Backlash : ??? Soaring stocks, renown praise, record number of units sold, and America's renewed love of Nintendo.

Call me a Nintendo fan boy all you want, but the proof is in the pudding.

The Lord deplores homosexuals but your still around sucking dick, so I wouldn't go there.

How about the reality that Microsoft just made a bad system that is prone to failure?

Never understood? What is there to understand? This isn't quantum physics. Some people play games. Some people sit infront of the tv every day of their life after work. Some people spend it reading stupid mystery novels or romance stories. Some people spend it listen to music from dead composers. Some people spend their life talking about their pathetic life to people they pay or other losers online.

Anyway you LOOK at it, all these people are 'sad' one way or another. So to point fingers at one is kind of funny. Life is life and as long as you are enjoying yourself they are living it. YOU being homosexual and discriminated everyday for your choices should know what it feels like to be judged. I would have thought you would be the last one to pass judgement on someone's hobby

You talk about 'respect' when you are on your knees and bent over for another man. You have no respect to give

There. Racist and politically irresponsible. Can we get some sexism?

Nintendo is the kiddie system. The price is the real reasom for the high sales. If PS3 was $200 or $250 it would outsell the wii easily.

Actually, I've never been judged or discriminated against myself (although friends of mine have). But yeah, I guess everyone is kind of sad in a way, like people who feel the need to post their supposed sexual conquests in message boards.

But whatever, I've spoken my mind and it won't be changed. Sorry if your panties got so twisted up over my opinions.

Sony is improving slowly and Microsoft, despite all their troubles, still have a healthy fanbase and arguably the better current selection of games.

Between my 360 and my Wii I spend most of my videogame time on my 360, as I wait for 50 dollar Wii games to drop to a more worthwhile price.

So what is someone who spends maybe 25-30% of their free time doing those things, and the rest of it hanging out with friends and family, and actually getting out of the house to do things? As far as I'm concerned...if you've got yourself couped up in your house playing video games every waking moment of your free time...you have no life. It's unhealthy physically and mentally.

PS3 will win the console war.

Not likely. Though Sony is taking a step in the right direction by cutting prices....Microsoft still has it where it counts...better games, better online. People who are trying to sue are fishing for something they won't catch.

of course you agree EVERYONE agrees. The problem is he threw his opinion on shit that wasn't even the topic of this thread. This thread is about the failure rate of the 360 finally being recognized by the media which leaves the door open for Sony and Nintendo to take advantage. And this guy comes into the thread talking about not respecting gamers who play too much, what kind of shit is that?

I'm not a big gamer and i don't own any of the systems. the last game system i had was the the good ol' super nintendo. I play every once and awhile with my friends on 360 with halo and gears but that's about it. The 360 is a little too expensive but they have really good games and i haven't heard of any faulty 360's in my area. The PS3 is way way too expensive and has the worst selection of games ever and the Wii is too childish for me and even worse the graphics suck on it so it's not even pretty to look at. I did see that the Wii is making a "doctor" type game where you can go into surgery that sounds pretty cool it would be a thousand times more cooler if the graphics were like the PS3 and you got to perform some awesome heart tranplants or something.

That game is called Trauma Center and it is a pretty cool game, even the sequel that just came out. The reason it doesn't focus on "realistic" graphics is because its more of a puzzle game than a "surgery simulator".

But once again, if you want "bad ass" graphics where you can see the eye boogers in a characters eye, then by all means go out and blow a lot of money of a PS3, then spend 60-70 dollars for a meager stock of games or go pick up a Xbox 360 and pray it doesn't fry in the first couple months. Me, I'll personally take innovative game play and interesting games over that any day...

yeah i know all that but imo it's more fun and worth while to actually know what the hell it is i'm looking at. i played a little of mario galaxy and something else and half of what i was looking at i was going what the hell is that suppose to be? I would gladly fork over the extra moolah to play games where i could go ok that's suppose to be a tree and it is alright not it kinda looks like a giant piece of broccoli i guess that's a tree. 249 for a wii with no good graphics, you can't find in stores because they're always soldout, (at least where i'm at) and mediacore games that's fun to play mostly when you're drunk doesn't sound conviencing enough for me but hey you get what you pay for. The PS3 i agree with you on that and the 360 has the 3 ROD for some and not for some but great games with great graphics so yeah that's my non gamers point of view

That was my whole viewpoint... yeah, bitchin graphics are all well and good, but I wanted something different. I wanted a game-play system that wasn't the standard same old control pad stuff. That's why I went with the Wii... A new system with a totally new and different control system.

I've got 5 games for it (I've played 4 of them so far) and I haven't been disappointed yet. Each game I've played has been a blast... especially Metroid Prime Corruption.

I love mature themed games, and yes the Wii lacking in that department, but I have no doubt that there will be more mature themed games released in the future. I'm shittin' and dyin' to get busy on Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles... something tells me that's not a kiddy game.

For me,xbox 360 just has a better selection of games. Most of the games on the wii so far are just gimmicky. There are only a few games i wanna play on the wii,and i wouldn't buy one for those games. One of them is resident evil 4,which i've already beaten on ps2.I'd also like to play manhunt 2,which didn't get reviewed very well, but i still wanna try it.I know sony will have more good games in the future, but there are not as many AAA titles released so rapidly like on 360.They only have 2 games that have sold over a million copies so far, resistance and motorstorm.Konami is expecting mgs4 to sell a million just on pre-orders.I'll probably get a ps3 when god of war 3 comes out,but i really have no desire to get a wii anytime soon.

Aint much to say about the 3 system war other than the obvious.

Sony = Powerhouse with 2 great systems but lost alot of exclusives to Microsoft and they have to make up the slack. Their respective fanboys are just waiting until the system and company crawls out of the hole its in.

Microsoft = Has afew solid exclusives and branch titles that allow them to better in almost every concievable way and this is coming from a Nintendo fan at heart. Their fanboys have to defend the fact that Microsoft sometimes tries to out move the competition without stepping on its own toes.

Nintendo = The company many, many people want to see just die and fall like Sega did back in the 90s. They play it smart, work the casual gamer angle as well as their console regulars and occasionally pop out afew solid mature titles. Obviously nothing like Sony or XBOX in terms of system power, mature titles, etc. However they still play it smarter than anyone else, especially in this current generation of wars. Their fanboys on the other hand dont admit the obvious. The system is made for casual gamers and gamers of the regular titles with Mario, Link, etc and not much else.

In the end, all 3 have their flaws.

I still say the PC is the ultimate and outwieghs the other 3 considerably in all areas. Nevetheless, its by far the most costly to keep up with.

I wouldn't say that the graphics on the Wii suck, sure they're no where near as great as the other systems but play through Metroid Prime 3 and then try and say the graphics suck. It mostly depends on the developers and what they do with the system.

Either way, like ReDPath said, all the systems have their flaws.
