Apparently the lesson here is that if you're a journalist, you best suck on your advertisers balls or else you're canned.

I don't even go to Gamespot for reviews but what's the point of having opinion jobs when you can't even express yours.

I can somewhat relate, as my ad-company prefers me not to send in negative reviews to those that buy ad-space on UHM. Luckily, since I'm my own boss, I won't have to worry about getting fired :D

He'll get a chunk of change when they go to court.

Anyone with a brain knows Gamespot/IGN are bullshit payola sites. Can't say I'm all that shocked.

undoubtedly, I just found it extremely shitty that they fire someone over a review of a game when that was about the average review for it anyway.

destructoid.com has temporarily changed their name to cashwh0re.com in protest of the situation.

Also, looks like Eidos is putting misleading quotes and scores on the kane and lynch site

Bothers me a little. I stop caring about GS once Greg left to EA. Jeff was cool with me until around the time I was looking into AV stuff and buying a tv he turned dick on me and didn't want to help. Then GS started giving games I liked bad reviews, then Jeff gets fired over this scandal.

What bothers me is the point of review sites is gamers giving other gamers a heads up on games but now it seems review sites are paid advertising liars who try and trick you into thinking something is worth your money. review sites are nothing more than commercials now.

Then you start thinking. With demos, rentals, friends, blogs, there really is no reason these days to even use a review site anymore, especially now that creditability is in question
