Behind the Mask - Original and clever take on the slasher genre, definitely my favorite of the year.
Redsin Tower - Just an all out crazy and creepy demonic/slasher flick.
28 Weeks Later - All around awesome and well paced.
The Host - Kinda slow on the monster action in parts, but still really good.
Grindhouse - A lot of fun, specifically Planet Terror which was bad ass.

its about a documentary crew filming a killer. its a poke at the slasher series and explains certain things about the killers' mindset.

If you need an explanation to why a movie is good/bad then you shouldn't be allowed watch movies at all.

Yeah, I just watched a movie and I thought it was bad. Someone please explain to me why I'm wrong. :die:
I mean honestly, how fucking retarded does that sound?
F'n Knightz
IMO, there were no good horror movies this year (at least that I saw).
Behind the Mask was decent, I guess, but I wouldn't ever watch it again.

I would say 28 Weeks Later...and that ain't sayin' much.
(it was alot better than the 1st one though)
Vacancy started out really good and just got worse as it progressed.

Lot of decent, serviceable horror movies this year.

Thanks steel! lol!
I would usually comment back when someone talked shit to me, but this is the internet and to me internet "fighting" is for bitches!
And for the record, I was asking someone to explain the movie to me because I wasnt paying attention when I watched it. Nobody said anything about "explaining why I was wrong"....

Sad. I had to actually think what horror films I saw this year. First one that came to my mind was Saw 4. so that's the best

Here's a thought: Instead of asking people to do all of your thinking for you perhaps you should watch the movie again and this time actually pay attention.

I agree with most of you about this year lacking. However, 3 films really, IMHO, were just great.
1. 30 Days of Night- I absolutly love this movie in every eway. THe only complaint I had was the ending.
2. Halloween- Sorry, i know there are some haters, but Zombie is a GREAT director.
3. 28 Weeks Later- First one in my opinion is a damn classic and this one ranked right on u there.. a series I would enjoy to see a third of. BUT ONLY A THIRD!
I did see Leslie Veron(Sp?) Along time ago and i liked it, but it was a bit to slow..
I also saw Dead Alive (this movie was made a while back) and I think its the BEST one I saw all year lol. Truely a GREAT movie.

The best, for me, would have to be "1408", followed by "30 Days of Night".

Grindhouse is definitely my favorite.

30 Days of Night
And I'm planning on borrowing 28 Weeks Later from my brother and finally getting to watch it.

I totally forgot Mr. Brooks. I guess it's kind of debatable as to whether or not it's a horror movie, but I'd say a good percentage of it is.
