I always thought TC was miscast as Lestat.

He did a better job than Stewart Townsend, and as much as I cant stand him half the time, I wouldnt turn down more Vampire Chronicles with him in it.

He did a better job than Stewart Townsend,
He was miscast as well.
I always say that Julian Sands would have been perfect.

I guess if you're going for the "I was sexy back in the pre-Victorian era" look. Otherwise ew :D

Not at all. Ann Rice's description of Lestat in all her books and his attitude I believe would have been easily achieved by JS. Did well in the crappy but enjoyable "Warlock"

Oh yeah, I totally agree. He was Warlock's saving grace. I just think that if he had gotten the role instead of Cruise, the movie wouldn't have been a hit like it was. Might not have even gone to theaters. Most people like their vamps two ways. Evil and disturbing, or evil and sexy. Rice has made her vamps (most of them) seductive, sensual and sexy, I just can't see JS playing a sexy character.

Point well made.

I think Johnathan Rhys Meyers would be a good Lestat. He's got that creepy yet sexy thing going on.

I remember reading in Fangoria, eons ago, that Anne Rice originally wanted Rutger Hauer to play Lestat... but, like I said, that was a LOOOONG time ago... don't think Rutger's aged well enough to pull that off.

RH would have been great back then...too bad that didn't happen.

I thought Stuart Townsend was a great vampire. Just didn't seem like Lestat to me.

I LOVE Interview With The Vampire. I'd definitely see this with Cruise in it.

She did, she was even 100% against Cruise getting the role, but once she saw how he did it...she took out like a full page newspaper apology and stated that she could no longer see anyone but Cruise playing the role.
