Man calls 911 and says some guys are breaking into his next door neighbors house. Says he has a shotgun and is going to kill them. He uses shotgun and kills them. 911 tape in news clip.

The vigilante side of me says "Death is harsh, but they shouldn't be robbing people." And another side says "This old dude needs to learn to listen." I mean, when a 911 dispatcher tells you 'if you shoot them you'll be in trouble.", he's probably not just making it up.

Don't care for their lives. They were criminals who paid the price of being criminals. Everyone knows when you rob a home you take the chance of being killed or going to jail. Sure what the neighbor did was wrong, it wasn't self defense but vigilante justice but I have no problem with people who take the law into their own hands as long as they have evidence to prove they did the right thing

That man's a fool! He shouldn't of said he was gonna kill them and hung up the phone before actually going out and doing it, then atleast he'd have a chance of getting off on self-defence.

Yeah, the only thing that gets me upset about their deaths is that everyone has mothers and sisters and wives, kids , ect ect. And now they have to suffer because their loved one was stupid and lost his life being a criminal.

I have been deliberating and discussing this a lot with my wife over the last few weeks. Here goes.

The neighbors worked -- they spent time they will not get back doing the right thing in order to gain the possessions they had hoped to acquire. Losing the time and losing the rewards of that time spent would have been wrong.

On that end, I can't mourn the years lost by common thieves who were trying to take the short cut.

On the other hand, we simply can not murder every (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welfare_%28financial_aid%29) thief (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enron) in America. Likewise, those nearly-stolen goods aren't any good covered in blood and/or stuck in an evidence locker. The man lost sight of several reasons for stopping them and acted on anger instead.

Acting on anger is never the right way to go.

The guy sounds like a trigger happy fool and will most likely be going to jail for a very long time.If it was his own home, then maybe he would get off,but after telling the police that he intended to shoot them, well it could be a murder charge.

I think we should declare open season on home invading assholes myself. These bastards cause psychological damage as well as financial.

The guy should have used some discression on blasting the fuckers, but it wa shis choice. Assholes got what they deserved.

If more people blew away robbers like this I wonder what the crime rate would be? Aside from an increase in dead robbers.
