In a recent interview with Fangoria, Daniel Farrands (who did the screenplay for the film) is trying to convince Disney to re-issue the much beloved/desired cut of the film into the market, possibly as a 2-disc set. After repeated declines from Disney and sources supplied by Farrands showing executives that this cut is still a hot item on online auction websites, executives seem to be turning another cheek and will be holding a conference with him to discuss more about this matter.
I wish this guy all the luck in the world!

I'd like a release, it's the only one I can't get my hands on.

Definately better than the theatrical release... made more sense and had a better ending. All in all, a more satisfying flick.
The best sequel to the series.

Hope this happens, I have a horrible version of it.
The producer's cut sucks horribly, just not as much as the final cut.

They have this cut lurking around out there in great quality. Nevertheless, an official release with some goodies, commentary, etc would be a nice touch.
Producers Cut was far superior but to state the obvious, changed for two reasons IMO. One the untimely death of Donald Pleasance shortly there after as they figured they could've probably had him for one more sequel despite his health problems. The other the fear that the casual audience wouldnt get it so it had to be dumbed down. Nevertheless, the movie flopped as it was.

Yeah, I really don't see how a few extra scenes could make this movie any better. Maybe I'm wrong, but Curse was insultingly horrible. They should have the cashier laugh maniacally whenever a copy is bought, I paid fifteen dollars without having seen it: it was like opening a Burger King bag when you're already ten minutes away from the drive through and finding a turd in your "fry-pod."

I would like to have a solid copy of this flick, although I'm not sure if I like this more than the theatrical cut... the shitty quality may have been a factor in that.

Theatrical and Producers Cuts are more or less completely different movies with the Producers Cut being the more complete film.
Nothing really similiar about either version IMO.

Different in every concievable way.
As previously mentioned.
40 Minutes of alternate footage, including an alternate ending and opening narration. A totally different soundtrack which is more Halloween oriented and less flashy than the theatrical soundtrack. All in all, a very different movie.
