This movie is going to meet all of the high expectations and surpass them.

Ledger is going to go down as an icon with his performance. After seeing the first five minutes and the trailer, he has me totally sold on his version of the character.

Luris, I have to disagree about the makeup. I think it's perfect because, for once, the joker isn't being portrayed so 'perfectly'. He seems like he's a butchery, brutal and unforgiving maniac and the makeup seems to visually supplement his personalty perfectly.

Looks a bit more grim than the last one.
And it's got a definite villain! That's awesome. They kind of copped out with all the villains in Batman Begins, there was no single guy Batman could really go up against.
But that's the thing, I wanna see Batman go up against rival whose kind of equal with him but who he can give a good old fashioned ass-kicking to. Both with Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger, we know if it weren't for guns and knives and shit there'd be no real competition
(I just realized Christian Bale and Heath Ledger just did the Bob Dylan movie together..hmm..)
but yeah, Bale's signed for a trilogy, so as undisbutably bad ass as Heath Ledger is gonna be as the Joker, I'm hoping they'll have a more intimidating or challenging villain in the third.

just saw the good quality version. Heath is gonna be a great Joker. I hope it explains how is face got fucked up, cuz he does have scars. And its a given two-face will be in the third one but you gotta know they'll throw atleast one other villain in there. I think The Riddler might work. Penguin could deffinatly work. But I see him as more of a behind the scenes kinda guy. I think there should be more of Victo Szasz. Maybe with his shirt off this time so we can see all the scars he's inflicted on himself. Course you never know, Joker could come back. I don't think he'll die in this movie.

This one seems like it's going to be much better than Batman Begins. I found Batman Begins boring, drawn out, and... well, just plain boring. I loved the image of where they wanted to go with Batman. Give him a darker, more modern look. That's great, but the first one still blew. However, I think this series can be saved by The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger as the Joker... It doesn't look or even sound like Heath Ledger. Helluva long way from 10 Things I Hate About You, eh? I feel like this one is gonna have more action, more plot, and less boredom. I can't wait for this movie.
