I've never used this much, but I downloaded a new version of it and it's turning out to be pretty awesome. With it you can download videos from youtube without any fuss, or any othe video for that matter. You can download tracks from myspace with it too. It's great, even if you just use it to download undownloadable tracks from myspace. Done it with Evacuate Chicago and Shai Hulud.

Good stuff.

Realplayer used to be bloatware, with all of their ads/gadgets and gizmos that slowed PCs down to a screeching halt. Their proprietary format is rarely used, and is poor quality. I use Realplayer alternative if i just HAVE to have realplayer functionality.

I know use VLC player for my videos.

I loved their Real jukebox back in the day, but I eventually moved to Musicmatch, then Itunes and now....Musikcube.

Firefox + Plugins. No need for Realplayer.

Likewise, we now have youtube, similar sites, and flash video to completely destroy the need for proprietary video formats. I won't even install Quicktime, either.

I don't mind real player but I never use it... I never had a need to. Also www.vixy.net (http://www.vixy.net) works really well for saving youtube videos and/or ripping audio from the site.
