Wonderful, focus the film on a side character and chosoe an actress who's only 1/4th of the characters ethnicity...STill, not as bad as ZHang Ziyi being cast as a japanese character. Hollywoods racial casting again annoys me.

SO yeah, street fighter film, main character: CHun Li, interest of mine? None.

Just thought the warning ought to be done before the disease spreads. I"m still waiting for them to cast an Eskimo as Ryu with how the casting is these days.

Basing it on one character is kinda lame though. Was never really a fan of Street Fighter myself. Always an MK loyalist. Nevetheless, if your gonna make a movie around one character. Heres a list I'd go with.

Cammy - not as deep a character as Chun Li but way hotter and better moveset IMO
Bison - always a good choice
Guile - same as above
Ryu - epic
Ken - epic

That said, I'd go with a better executed movie. One that wont insult the hardcore fans of that franchise like the original SF movie did.

it cant be worse than the original, but thats not saying much. The Original is a horrid piece of crap. And Kristen Kreuk is a shitty actress. This will suck.

And Cammy was played by one Kylie Minogue. Still a very hot woman and -- yes -- I believe she would look good in the role again.

Back in '94, at least the video game movie mostly matched the video game it was based off of. In comparison to the likes of Super Mario Brothers, it was high art.

i remember seeing it at teh drive in back in teh day..double feature Mortal Kombat and street fighter

what they need to do is remake Mortal Kombat and make it R rated..imagince if the OG one was r..all the gore they coulda used..

MK was the best video game adaption film to date and Paul Anderson's only decent film to date IMO.

That said, its not like MK was a plot filled series to begin with but the basic story and characters were all there and it was an entertaining movie.
