Pats vs Giants is making history, it went from being on one channel that almost no one has to being on NBC, and CBS, first time this has happened since Superbowl 1.

This might be the highest rated game in NFL history outside any SB game.

Its going to kill their ratings though, the only reason why this is going to break records for most watched game is because... hell... they are making us watch it. Besides Pats and Giants fan there is no reason why anyone south or west needs to watch this game. I think I'll find myself watching some ACC basketball on FSN if its on.

who the hell is making you watch it?

did you plan on watching dateline or 48 hours?

the patriot hating is almost unbearable at this point.

if anything, you and the rest of the nfl fans should be happy, i live in maine, and i wasn't even going to be able to see this game because the NFL doesn't count Maine (New England) part of the New England Patriots home market.

That also meant, that even though the Giants play in NJ, and have training camp in Albany, no one outside of NYC was going to see the game either. All because the NFL wants more money, that isn't fair and this is a win for the fans.

Anyone who watches this game, is doing it because they want to, plenty of other options on tv.

what the fuck are you talking about.

That was intended for the dude being a complete douche, you just happen to post yours before mine got in there.

I'm not watching the Pats game. Not because I hate the Patriots, but because it's a friggin' meaningless game to anyone who's not a Pats fan.

The Patriots vs. The New York Giants backups.

Wow! How exciting. I mean who needs a game of competitive football where actual stakes are on the line when you can watch Tom Brady pad his stats against a team who's looking to get some rest for the playoffs.

There certainly is better options on TV. Having the TV off altogether is a better option come to think of it.

Redskins getting in the playoffs would be something special for those fans with the season they've had thus far and I think it would be 2nd time in 3 years that 3 teams from the East made it or maybe the 3rd time in 4 years.

Far as the Pats game goes. Coughlin has been playing the media all week about whether or not hes going to go all out in that game. I dont think he should simply because that team is banged up and they have nothing to gain. You want to use it as a bye week almost. Get your starters in, play a series or two and get them out in order to rest them for the wildcard weekend IMO.

I was listening to WEEI coming in this morning (ugh) because Lew and Mike aren't on this week on 1510, and I have to say...this "America hates the Patriots" shit is getting pretty old.

I don't care what excuses people use: Videogate! Belichick's attitude! They run up the score! Brady is shooting for records!...No matter what the excuse is, the real reason why fans of other teams hate the Patriots is simple.

They win. A lot. They win trophies and they win big games while teams in most other cities are hoping they'll just make the playoffs.

Basically, fans of other teams hate the Patriots for the same reason I hated the Cowboys and Yankees growing up - they always win.

What annoys me though is it's fine if you hate them for that reason. I mean, no one but home fans wants to see a team win over and over and over again. But don't bring up some other hapless arguments and weak points as to why you hate the Patriots.

The truth is the truth...the Patriots cheated with the videogate thing. They run up the score. Brady wants to break Manning's record and Belichick can be, at times, a douche bag. You know what, though? If the Pats were 6-9 right now no one would give a shit about any of that.

I hate the Yankees because they beat up on my Red Sox for years. I hate the Cowboys because they always won in the 90's and they beat up on the Niners. I don't, however, try to create any other reasons as to why I hate them other than the fact that I'm envious of those teams' respective championships.

Now if only other people would take their heads out of their asses and admit they're just sick of seeing the same team winning all the time, all would be good. Enough with all the lame excuses about things that have been done by dozens of other teams for years (running up the score, recording signs, going for records and having a media-unfriendly coach).

They're 15-0, going for 16-0. I can see why that sucks if you're, say, a Cowboys, Rams, Packers, Seahawks, Colts, Dolphins, Panthers, or WHATEVER fan. Just don't try to act like you hate them for anything else other than their success. Again, if the Pats were 6-9 right now, no one here or anywhere else would be bitching about this team they way they are right now. Success creates envy.

Really entertaining game last night.

G men showed up to play. Eli had probably the best game of his career IMO. Only made one mistake which was costly and turned into 7 points. Nevertheless, a great game.

Should give the Giants some momentum heading into the playoffs.

Hard to go to a game when you aren't even in the state they are playing in now isn't it?

Yea the Pats are good, they didn't win games without being that..obviously, but I'm not gonna be the next one to get in line to slob on the Pat's knob,

and frankly max, anything you say about people being uneducated, is damn near laughable, if I remember last year you started a thread purely to celebrate your fantasy football championship....

I wonder if you pulled this same crap in 04 when Manning was doing the same thing Brady did this year?

Brady is being talked about because he earnt that, as a football fan you should just respect it and let it be, if it annoys you beyond belief, I know there has to be something else to watch...

Its true, success brings envy, and dislike.

Everyone loved Brady and the Pats leading up to 2001 SB, my times have changed.

Farve completed history this year on several QB milestone records, on top of a 13-3 record, Favre starting this week, or next week, will he keep his active streak alive? But no one is giving him or the Packs a shit time, but it's ok.

let me clarify the fan statement, most of the pats fans I know or I have run into, they have been annoying, that's why I said most, and I noticed a lot more pats "fans" around even the midwest once they started winning. uneducated in regards to atleast understand what the hell is it your talking about, you wouldn't see me walk into a room full of scientist and try and tell them how physics is unethical, because it doesn't make sense, and id be talking out my ass.

Ass for not being able to get to a game, your right. But being a regional team and not constrickted to one state says something about the fan base, not to mention atleast i like my team for being my team, would of been too easy to be a niners, cowboy, giants, redskins or who ever you want to pick fan back when the pats were no different then the phins are now.

i dont need to prove a thing to you, you would give anything to have a undefeated season on top of a spy gate scandal, because deep down, you know it was bogus and that everyone does something that would be considered cheating.

I think it's in the eye of the beholder, Im egged on by alot of the coments around here that I just don't have the strength to ignore, you watch, Steelba or Knight will come in here, probably read one of my post to you out of contect, say I bring homerism to another leval, and then I respond to that, and there you have the circle that is the constant Pats bashing.

Do not deny it, I called the pats great season, I called the Bears being average, and I clearly called the Pats being better then the Bears, to you, not here on the board but through fantasy contact, and you said "well see, Bears are fully capiable of being great, and the Pats are loaded too no doubt"

I don't like the Pats, doesn't mean I don't think they are good.. I don't like the packers but I can respect the year they've had, I'm a chicago blackhawks fan and I hate The Detroit Red Wings, but I can still respect the team, rivalry aside.

Yup Bears dissapointed, not a doubt in anyone's mind in the city of chicago, but I'm not gonna cry about it and throw down my bears colors and try to jump on the Pats bandwagon(It's already full anyway). Bears won the last two games and we'll take it into the offseason and try to rebuild, just the way it is. I love my team, but I criticized them all season, last season, and after they got trounced in the SB, hell if you've ever said a critical thing about your precious pats, hell you whined all of last year when Brady didn't make the meaningless pro bowl and Tony Romo did..

Wouldn't be bad to get Campbell some playoff experience either...Skins are a team on the way up it seems, but they aren't a NFC conference champion team yet so building up a guy who will be most likely leading you in future playoff endeavors isn't bad either..

Collin hasn't played in a decade and he looks 5x better than Campbell ever has.

Campbell needs to sit his ass on the bench and learn something. If you're going into the playoffs you stick with the guy that's hot. The post-season isn't the time to 'learn about what you have'...that's what preseason's for.

Speaking of Parcells. This will be his 3rd time around in the AFC East, this time as a VP of operations or whatever the title is. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see what he does to rehaul that Miami team.

Only place to go is up. I'd keep Ricky Williams if for only an insurance policy due to the injuries at that spot and hope he doesnt dope out. Then again, I dont think Parcells will keep a guy like that around.

Moved to a new apartment (no internret, till now) thats alot better than where I was living. The pluses are the apartments size, it's a 5 minute walk or 2 minute drive away from a mall, a liquor store, a brand new movie theatre (went and saw AvPR there last weekend), and a huge grocery store. Then negative is it's right behind a police station, well it's 4 blocks down a 1 way street from it anyways :cussing:

But VErizon got my DSL working again :cheerlead
